The Heiress's Game

Chapter 190 I don't have such a thing

Bai Tianyi's activities these past few days have been extremely limited: Bai Junze and Gu Yunjin's new villa.

He doesn't even go back to his high-rise apartment in the city center anymore, and the food his sister-in-law's housekeeper cooks is exceptionally delicious.

That afternoon, he was nestled on the sofa in the living room of the villa with Qian Yuewei when his phone rang, and three words popped up on the screen—"Old Antique".

This is the note he left for his father, Bai Jing'an.

He pressed the pause button and reluctantly answered the call.

Bai Jing'an's voice came through the receiver, carrying a suppressed anger that had been building up for several days.

"You still know how to answer the phone? Count how many days you haven't been home."

Your mom nags about you every day, and you don't even go back to your apartment. What have you been up to lately?

"I'm not going back. I'm at my older brother and sister-in-law's house. My older brother's house is my house. I have my own bedroom at my older brother's house."

Tell my mom I won't be going home for a few days, don't worry.

Bai Tianyi stared at the screen, his fingers flying across the keyboard, his tone light and cheerful as if he were saying that the weather was nice today.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone.

Bai Jing'an was clearly taken aback by his matter-of-fact tone.

"Your older brother just got married. The young couple is living their lives together. What's the point of you, a grown man, staying at their house every day?"

How old are you? Have some shame! Have some common sense!

"Dad," Bai Tianyi said calmly and sincerely.

"Dad, I don't think I have either of those things you mentioned. Did you forget to put them in me when I was born?"

"You—" Bai Jing'an almost choked on his breath.

Bai Tianyi added confidently, with a hint of smugness in his tone.

"My sister-in-law specially asked the housekeeper to clean my bedroom, and the bed sheets are my favorite gray."

You wouldn't believe my current status in my elder brother and sister-in-law's family, even if I told you.

"What's your status? You're just a superfluous accessory!" Bai Jing'an's voice was now laced with gritted teeth.

"Even pendants are needed! My sister-in-law said she'll save a seat for me when we have hot pot at home from now on."

"Hey Dad, I can't talk to you anymore, my game team has started a raid. Tell Mom I'll come home for dinner another day, another day!"

He hung up the phone quickly and continued to immerse himself in the world of the game.

The world offers him too many temptations, and shamelessness only prevents him from enjoying them.

Hearing the busy tone on his phone, Bai Jing'an was so angry that he blew his beard and glared at the already disconnected caller. He cursed, "That brat!" and then threw the phone onto the coffee table.

Wang Shuying, who was standing next to him, glanced at him leisurely while holding her teacup. "What did I say? When has your son ever had any sense of propriety since he was a child?"

It's good that he can stay with Junze now; at least he has a proper place to eat, which is better than him wandering around outside.

Bai Jing'an was speechless, so he could only pick up his teacup and gulp down a mouthful.

After dinner, the living room was warmly lit.

Bai Junze sat at one end of the sofa with a laptop on his lap, covered in dense data.

Gu Yunjin nestled next to him, her toes naturally resting on his thighs, while she held a tablet and looked through the new round of design drafts that Wen Qi had sent that afternoon.

Her brows were slightly furrowed, clearly indicating that she was still not entirely satisfied.

Bai Tianyi sat cross-legged on the sofa on the other side, scrolling through his phone, his fingers flying across the screen, occasionally letting out a silly laugh.

Suddenly, his finger stopped. On the screen was a video asking for help posted by an ordinary user, with only a few hundred likes and a handful of comments.

This poor girl had her design stolen, and the other party even sued her. It's pretty tragic.

Bai Tianyi doesn't understand design, but the few pictures that flashed by just now looked pretty good to him. He felt that... it was similar to the "eye-opening" feeling that his sister-in-law had mentioned before?

He pulled the progress bar back, stopping it on a clear, still frame of one of the drawings, then sprang up from the sofa, shuffling over to Gu Yunjin in his slippers.

"Sister-in-law, take a look at this." He handed her his phone.

Gu Yunjin paused the video, zoomed in, and stared at the jewelry for a long time.

Then she turned to look at Bai Tianyi, her eyes shining.

"Tianyi, send me this video."

Gu Yunjin returned the phone to Bai Tianyi, then picked up her own phone and forwarded the video link to Wen Qi.

"Wen Qi, take a look at the designer in this video, find her contact information, and arrange an interview. This 'Flying Apsaras' design is exactly what I want."
