Time flies, and almost 24 hours have passed since Lu Feng destroyed Japan.

Lu Feng was still holding a cup of milk tea and drinking it.

There was a computer in front of me, playing the most popular movie on Earth.

[Time's up, Phase Two of the National Destiny Game begins]

[The difficulty of Phase 2 has increased because the beginner period of Phase 1 has ended.]

[Start Teleportation]

Lu Feng finished the last sip of his milk tea and shut down his computer.

He was still enveloped in a beam of white light.

When the teleportation light faded, Lu Feng opened his eyes.

He was now standing on a hillside, with gray-white gravel beneath his feet and a leaden-gray sky above him.

The air was cold and dry, with an indescribable burnt smell.

Below the hillside lies a vast plain, dotted with the remains of buildings.

The walls were cracked, the roof had collapsed, and plants sprouted from the cracks only to wither and die, as if they had been abandoned for a very long time.

Strangely, no living creature rushed up to him and barked at him.

Lu Feng's sense of destruction unfolded.

Within a 10-kilometer radius, there are signs of life, but in small numbers and scattered.

However, it was not like a human; it was some kind of energy entity with strong emotional fluctuations, like a living being, yet also like some kind of phantom infused with energy.

Lu Feng frowned, but because it was covered, no one could see it.

"system?"

Don't ask me everything; explore it yourself.

"..."

Lu Feng stood on the hillside for a few seconds, then pulled himself out of his thoughts and walked down the hillside.

They had only gone halfway when the other chosen ones began to descend.

Lu Feng ignored it.

About ten minutes later, he entered an area densely packed with building debris.

Dark vines climbed the walls, and the ground was covered with a thick layer of ash, leaving deep footprints when stepped on.

Suddenly, the road ahead ended, but there was a narrow alley to the side. Without hesitation, Lu Feng walked straight in.

But a little while later.

Lu Feng walked out of the narrow alley, and the view suddenly opened up before him.

A huge circular plaza, more than two hundred meters in diameter, is paved with dark stone slabs, each engraved with a special symbol.

In the center of the square stands a towering stone pillar, its surface covered with fine cracks. Dark liquid seeps from these cracks, leaving dried marks on the pillar.

Lu Feng stood at the edge of the square and watched for a while.

His sense of destruction picked up something.

There was a faint energy fluctuation beneath the stone pillar, like something slowly breathing.

He walked toward the stone pillar.

Just then, a figure appeared at the other end of the square.

A group of Chosen Ones, about seven or eight people, were groping their way forward through the ruins.

They all saw Lu Feng and stopped in their tracks, frozen in place, staring at him as if they were frozen in place.

No one spoke, no one came near.

Lu Feng didn't look at them.

He continued walking toward the stone pillar, his boots making a steady sound as they stepped on the stone slabs.

Those chosen ones who banded together stood still, caught in a dilemma.

If you keep walking forward, you might run into that person face to face...

If you retreat, the path behind you might not be safe either.

They stood there like a flock of sheep standing before a wolf.

Lu Feng squatted in front of the stone pillar, stretched out his right hand, and pressed his fingertips on the dried, dark marks.

It felt icy to the touch, with a subtle, almost imperceptible tremor, as if something was still alive, hidden deep within these cracks.

His sense of destruction probed downwards from the base of the pillar, sinking deeper and deeper until it touched a power entrenched deep underground.

The power was quiet, as if it were asleep.

But it was completely different from his power; it was not blazing white, nor dark red, but a color between deep emerald green and ghostly blue.

It is very ancient, as if it has been here for a very, very long time, so long that the runes in the entire square were carved for it.

Lu Feng withdrew his hand and stood up.

What happened on this planet? Who left these runes? And whose power lies dormant underground?

Just as he was thinking, a sharp screech came from the side.

More than a dozen of those black energy entities surged out of the shadows of the ruins, moving as fast as the wind.

Their shapes were almost identical to those encountered before.

The flowing black mist had a dark green light flickering inside.

They rushed at him from all directions. Lu Feng didn't move, but simply turned his head to glance at them.

A bright white light flashed from him, like a lamp being suddenly turned on.

The energy bodies stopped simultaneously about five meters away from him, as if they had crashed into an invisible wall.

They struggled to move forward, but their bodies were dissipating from the edges, like ice cubes falling into hot water, melting from the outside in.

In less than two seconds, the dozen or so bodies all turned into wisps of drifting black smoke and dissipated into the leaden gray air.

Lu Feng looked away and glanced down at his right hand.

A faint glimmer of light lingered on his fingertips, as if the power from that moment hadn't completely dissipated.

He clasped his hands together, grasped the sliver of light, and extinguished it.

The system panel popped up.

[Defeat 1 Phantom Cluster, role-playing progress +1%. Current role-playing progress: 27%]

Lu Feng stared at the number on the panel and remained silent for a moment.

"What is this thing?"

He looked up at the stone pillar in front of him, at the cracks and the dark marks.

He glanced at the stone slab beneath his feet, and his sense of destruction extended downwards along the runes, once again touching the power that slumbered deep underground.

Lu Feng stood up, took a half step back with his right foot, and then stomped down hard.

A muffled thud.

The ground around the stone pillar cracked.

The dark stone slabs flipped up to the sides, revealing a pitch-black cavity underneath.

More cracks extend outwards from the edge of the fissure.

The runes carved on the stone slabs lit up for a moment, and dark green light surged up from the ground, flowing along the edge of the crack.

The ground collapsed, and the stone pillar tilted and fell in his direction.

Lu Feng did not dodge.

The fallen stone pillar stopped about a meter above his head, as if it were being held up by something out of thin air, suspended in mid-air.

He didn't look at the stone pillar, but instead looked down at the crack beneath his feet, at the dark green light that was slowly rising from the depths of the crack.

The light seemed to have been awakened by his kick, and was rising from its slumber.

Lu Feng crouched down, reached his hand into the crack, and peered toward the ball of light.

His fingertips pierced through the gravel and dust, touching the edge of that power.

"come out."

He grabbed the ball of light and pulled it outwards with force.

The ground shook violently, all the runes lit up, and dark green light gushed out from the cracks.

The entire plaza was shaking, and the seven or eight chosen ones let out a terrified scream; some had already begun to back away.

Lu Feng ignored them and stared at the thing he was pulling up from the crack.

Then Lu Feng saw it.

A ball of dark green light was being held in his hand, struggling as if it were alive.

That ball of light had no shape, no substance.
