A female figure stood in mid-air.

She was slender, with long hair flowing slightly behind her, and held a simple-looking longsword in her hand.

But it was that very sword that just severed half of the body of the Great Lord of Annihilation, Huanlong.

Hua looked down at the ground.

Her gaze was calm.

Her gaze swept over Huanlong's half of his body, which was slowly repairing, then over the roots writhing wildly on the ground, and finally landed on Jingyuan.

"Jingyuan".

Her voice wasn't loud, but every word was so clear it seemed to be right up to everyone's eardrums.

Jing Yuan looked up at her, and the corner of his mouth seemed to twitch slightly.

He didn't bow or exchange pleasantries; he simply lowered the Stone Fire Dream Blade that was lying in front of him and straightened his body.

"...a quarter of an hour faster than expected."

Three figures followed closely behind Hua as they descended from the sky.

Feixiao was the first to land, the azure light in her palm not yet completely dissipated.

Huaiyan and Yaoguang followed closely behind.

New woody structures have finally begun to grow from the broken part of the illusion.

The vines and branches were filling in the missing half of her body at a much slower pace than before.

Huanlong's pair of eerie green flames stared intently at the figure above, and for the first time, there was no smile on his face.

"……magnificent."

Hua fell from the sky and landed beside Jing Yuan.

She didn't look at Huanlong, but only glanced at Danheng.

Then she turned back, looked at the huge figure in front of her that was repairing, and slightly raised the long sword in her hand.

"Illusory".

Her voice remained low and calm.

"You just said you don't plan to let them leave alive?"

Huanlong remained silent.

Most of her upper body has been repaired, but a clear crack remains between the new wood and the old parts.

Hua looked at her and tilted his head slightly.

"What a coincidence, I don't plan to let you leave alive either."

As Hua finished speaking, the sword in her hand moved.

The sword tip pointed in the direction of Huanlong, and the sword was swung out.

The air was compressed into a line almost invisible to the naked eye, silently passing over Huanlong's newly repaired half of his body.

The vines and branches that Huanlong had just grown back were once again neatly cut off.

Huanlong's enormous body trembled slightly.

But her gaze never left Hua.

She stared at the slender figure standing beside Jing Yuan, holding a sword.

"...You're faster than the rumors say."

Hua did not answer.

She simply sheathed her sword and placed it back at her side.

Feixiao walked up from the side.

Her voice carried a suppressed excitement.

"Marshal, should we surround them?"

Hua did not turn back.

She looked at Huanlong and tilted her head slightly.

"Need not."

"She's ready to run away."

The flames surrounding Huanlong suddenly contracted.

She raised her right hand.

But this time it wasn't an attack; instead, it probed into the dark green mist behind it.

The moment her hand disappeared into the light mist, the pulsation of Jianmu Xuangen suddenly went off-beat.

"Tsk."

Huanlong let out a very soft sound.

That voice was different from any she had ever spoken before.

He uttered only one word, revealing obvious impatience.

Dan Heng held the Chongyuan Pearl in his left hand and the Jiyun in his right.

He sensed that some kind of power was being drawn away from the depths of the Jianmu tree.

"She is gathering strength."

Walter's voice came from behind, steady yet urgent.

"She wants to get out of it."

The ice arrow was nocked again on March 7th.

"We can't let her get away."

"Miss March."

Jing Yuan spoke.

March 7th paused for a moment.

Jing Yuan didn't turn to look at her, but only stared at the enormous body in front of him.

"It's too late."

Huanlong's body began to change.

The wood grain began to crack and peel off from the surface of her torso.

Feixiao was in a bit of a hurry.

"marshal……"

"let her go."

Hua's voice remained steady.

"She left herself an escape route in Jianmu; we couldn't stop her."

Huanlong's voice came from the air.

The voice lost the deep echo of Jianmu's body and became Suiyang's unique light and sharp tone, but it still carried her usual tone.

"Hua...you're much more interesting than I imagined."

The ball of light condensed and compressed above the Jianmu Xuan Gen, then suddenly exploded, transforming into countless fine streams of light that drilled into the root veins in all directions.

Those streams of light flowed rapidly through each root, dispersing and escaping in all directions, making it impossible to distinguish which one was the true illusion.

Hua simply put the sword away.

"She can't go far."

Feixiao frowned.

Hua turned his head and glanced at her.

"No need to chase."

She turned to the Jianmu Xuan Gen in front of her, which was trembling violently, and her gaze fell on the veins on the surface of the Xuan Gen that were rapidly dimming.

"She did leave herself a way out, but Jianmu didn't. She took too much of Jianmu's power to maintain her own form. Now that she's run away, the power she took can't be returned. She has to repay the debt she owes Jianmu herself."

Huaiyan nodded slightly from behind.

But as the light streams passed through each section of the root, their speed slowed down and their light dimmed.

The streams of light were forced to turn back and re-enter the depths of the withering roots.

Huanlong's voice rang out again.

The voice lost its warmth and composure, becoming shrill and rapid.

"Hua! You're pushing me!"

Hua, who was below, didn't show any expression.

"Oh, then I'll force you. What do you want?"

Huanlong was somewhat angry.

She really can't do anything to Hua and the others right now. The Jianmu tree is drying up, and she won't be able to hold on for much longer.

After much thought, Huanlong came up with an idea.

Huanlong stopped abruptly.

Hua below also noticed the stopped stream of light.

Just as I was about to make a move.

Huanlong shouted.

"foehn!"

(I don't actually have much of a writing background; I just got this far purely because of the recent popularity of the second form of the Burning Wind. I'm trying to continue writing entirely by hand now, and we'll see how the response is.)

(Actually, this book was originally just to see if anyone would read it and to find errors... Also, the number of chapters updated may be reduced. Sorry, I have too much to learn and I'm a bit too busy.)
