The voluptuous and beautiful nanny, Technician Shen fell for her.
Chapter 23 Rough Man Lu Yi
Li Lianhua was an easygoing person. She pulled Su Nianhe to the registration table and smiled ingratiatingly at the officer wearing a red armband: "Officer Li, I'm here to help out from the Li family in the municipal party committee compound. My aunt has informed Mrs. Li and asked us to come and share in the factory's good fortune."
Officer Li, who was writing with his head down, looked up when he heard this. His gaze passed over Li Lianhua and landed directly on Su Nianhe.
The ballpoint pen in his hand remained motionless on the paper for a long time.
The girl in front of me was wearing a light yellow fitted dress. The dress was a bit old, but it looked absolutely stunning on her.
Her face was fair and delicate, with long eyelashes. She lowered her head shyly, exuding a natural charm.
"Okay, okay, go in." Officer Li snapped out of his daze, cleared his throat, and quickly waved for them to pass.
Li Lianhua pulled Su Nianhe into the club lobby.
The interior is very spacious, with colorful paper flowers and several large light bulbs hanging overhead.
The loudspeaker was playing "Young Friends Come to Meet," with a cheerful rhythm.
A large area in the middle of the venue was set up for dancing, with long benches around it and orange juice and melon seeds on a table against the wall.
As soon as they went inside, the noisy chatter immediately subsided.
Several young men in work clothes stopped talking and stared at them intently.
Su Nianhe had never seen anything like this before. She was so frightened that she shrank behind Li Lianhua, nervously clutching the hem of her skirt with both hands.
She barely ate anything all day in order to wear this dress, and before coming out, she was so thirsty that she drank two large enamel mugs of cold boiled water.
Li Lianhua pulled Su Nianhe's hand and forced her to squeeze through the crowd to find a less crowded corner to sit down.
The light was a bit dim here, and there was a large potted plant blocking the light, which finally allowed people to catch their breath.
Su Nianhe hugged the old canvas bag to her chest, put her legs together, and obediently pressed herself against the wall.
As she walked along, the men's eyes seemed glued to her, making her feel extremely uncomfortable.
"Nianhe, don't be so reserved." Li Lianhua, on the other hand, was quite at ease, her eyes darting around the room. "We're here to find a match, so lift your head up. You're so pretty, you're sure to pick a good one today."
Su Nianhe shook her head, her voice low: "Lotus, I'm a little scared."
"What are you afraid of? I'm here." Li Lianhua patted her chest.
I had only been sitting down for two minutes when two young men in blue overalls came over.
One of them, his hair slicked back with oil, grinned slyly: "Ladies, which unit are you from? Let's get acquainted, how about we go over there for a dance?"
Su Nianhe shrank back in fright.
At first glance, Li Lianhua noticed that the two men had frivolous appearances and walked in a sleazy manner, clearly not the type to live a stable and honest life.
"Excuse me, we're tired and want to rest for a while." Li Lianhua blocked Su Nianhe's way and dismissed her with a forced smile.
Two or three groups of people arrived in succession, but Li Lianhua turned them all away with various excuses.
She whispered to Su Nianhe, "These people are no good. They're always staring at you. We need to find someone honest and reliable."
At that moment, a tall man in a security guard uniform walked into the lobby.
Li Tiejun hadn't planned to come today, but his mother kept urging him, saying he was in his late twenties and still unmarried, so she forced him to come to the social gathering to join in the fun.
He usually enjoys socializing and being around people at the factory, and thought that coming for a visit wouldn't hurt.
As soon as he entered, his gaze swept around the room and he was immediately drawn to a girl in a light yellow dress in the corner.
That's too eye-catching.
Her figure and shape, in this factory full of gray-blue overalls, were like a delicate flower blooming in the corner.
Li Tiejun frowned.
Why does this girl look so familiar? He must have seen her somewhere before, in a photo or in person?
He couldn't recall it for a moment; the household registration file he had just checked was long forgotten.
Li Lianhua followed the gaze and saw Li Tiejun.
Her eyes lit up. The man was wearing a uniform, tall, and had a respectable appearance; he looked like someone with a proper job.
She nudged Su Nianhe with her elbow: "Nianhe, you sit down first, I'll go scout ahead."
After saying that, Li Lianhua straightened her braids and walked towards Li Tiejun.
"Comrade, you're from the security department, right? You look very energetic," Li Lianhua greeted him with a smile.
Li Tiejun was pondering what Su Nianhe looked familiar about when he was interrupted, and his thoughts were completely pulled back.
He looked at the smiling girl with braided hair and chuckled, "Yes, I'm from the security department of the textile factory. Which unit are you from, sir?"
"I'm helping out in the staff quarters near the municipal government compound," Li Lianhua introduced herself confidently. "My name is Li Lianhua. What's your surname?"
"What a coincidence, my surname is also Li, and my name is Li Tiejun. We were family five hundred years ago." Li Tiejun was a talkative man, and after Li Lianhua started chatting like this, the two of them stood by the long table and chatted enthusiastically, completely forgetting that Su Nianhe looked familiar.
In the corner, Su Nianhe sat alone.
Without Li Lianhua beside her, she felt even more awkward and only dared to lower her head and stare at the tips of her cloth shoes.
Just then, a tall and imposing man carrying two glasses of orange juice strode toward her.
The man's name was Lu Yi, and he was a technician in the foundry workshop of the factory. He was tall and burly, with arms thicker than Su Nianhe's thighs, and his skin was tanned dark; he was a typical rough and tough guy.
Lu Yi was forced to come here by his family today.
He comes from a well-off family; his parents are both long-term employees and have always wanted to find him a daughter from a family of minor officials.
But he had met several girls, and he simply couldn't handle those delicate girls who were prone to throwing tantrums.
He thought that if all else failed, he would find a down-to-earth female factory worker who could do laundry and cook.
But the moment he entered, he saw Su Nianhe sitting obediently in the corner. Her pale yellow dress accentuated her curves, and her fair and delicate face exuded a timid and charming air.
Lu Yi felt that all his previous ideas were nonsense.
He had never seen such a beautiful girl in his entire life.
Even if she's a delicate little thing, he'd still cherish her and treat her like a precious gem, afraid she might get hurt.
He observed from the sidelines for a long time, watching those sleazy-looking men being driven away, and felt secretly pleased.
Seeing that Su Nianhe was now alone, he mustered up his courage and walked over with the water.
"Comrade, are you thirsty? Have some orange juice." Lu Yi gently placed one of the glasses of orange juice on the small table in front of Su Nianhe, his movements a little clumsy, as if afraid of crushing the glass if he used too much force.
Su Nianhe heard the sound and looked up.
Standing before me was a man who looked like a small mountain, with dark skin, thick eyebrows, and big eyes.
She was startled and gripped the canvas bag in her hand even tighter.
"Thank you, I'm not thirsty." Su Nianhe's voice was soft and sweet, with a slight stutter.
Lu Yi's heart almost melted when he heard that voice.
He pulled over a chair and sat down, keeping a table's distance between him and the chair, not daring to get too close.
"My name is Lu Yi, I work in the foundry workshop. Don't be afraid, I'm not a bad person." Lu Yi scratched his head, smiling somewhat憨厚ly. "I've seen you sitting here alone for quite a while now, are you not used to this kind of setting?"
Su Nianhe looked at him carefully.
Although the man had a rugged appearance, his eyes were bright and clean.
Unlike the other men, he didn't stare intently at her chest; his gaze remained steadily fixed on her face.
This eased her tense nerves a little.
"My name is Su Nianhe." She gave her name softly, feeling it wouldn't be right to ignore someone who had kindly offered her water. "I'm really not used to it; there are just too many people."
"It is quite noisy." Lu Yi nodded, and followed her words, "If you feel bored, I'll take you home after the party. It's not safe for a woman like you to be alone so late at night."
Su Nianhe quickly shook her head: "No need to trouble yourself, I came with my fellow villagers."
"Alright, if you encounter any trouble near the factory in the future, just mention my name, Lu Yi, and no one will dare to bully you," Lu Yi assured, patting his chest.
The two of them chatted across the table, asking and answering questions.
Although Lu Yi was rough around the edges, he spoke frankly and told stories about interesting things that happened in the workshop.
Su Nianhe listened, occasionally letting out a slight smile.
This scene was witnessed by several female employees not far away.
"Look, isn't that Lu Yi?" a factory worker in a floral dress said sourly. "Why is he chatting so happily with that woman from outside?"
"That's right. Lu Yi's family is so well-off. His parents are both level eight workers, and he earns a high salary. Usually, so many people introduce him to potential partners, but he refuses. Today, however, he's actively pursuing her." Another female worker curled her lip, her face full of disdain.
They were all regular employees of the factory and knew Lu Yi's background. They had originally come for these eligible young men. Unexpectedly, a vixen appeared out of nowhere, dressed so tightly, clearly there to seduce them.
"Dressed so provocatively, I wonder which residential compound she's from. She doesn't look like a decent person."
The gossip among the female employees was masked by the disco music and did not reach the corners.
As Su Nianhe listened to Lu Yi speak, she pondered in her heart that if she really wanted to find a reliable person to marry, someone as honest, upright, and well-behaved as Lu Yi might be a good choice.
At least, he doesn't look like someone who would hit someone.
Just then, the music in the hall suddenly changed to a soothing ballroom dance tune.
Lu Yi stood up, rubbed the sweat from his palms, and looked at Su Nianhe somewhat nervously: "Comrade Su, can you dance? Could you... do me the honor of dancing a song?"
