Shen Huai propped up his bicycle, turned around, and looked at her.

"You don't mind meeting someone for a date?" He got straight to the point, his tone devoid of emotion, but his eyes were fixed on her.

Su Nianhe clasped her hands together and nodded: "Mm."

"You've taken a liking to that Lu Yi?"

"No." Su Nianhe hurriedly denied it, her eyes reddening again as she recalled the scene from yesterday. "His parents didn't agree and even threw soda all over Sister Wang. The deal is off."

Upon hearing this, Shen Huai's tense jawline relaxed slightly.

"Since it's over, why are you still avoiding me?" He took a step forward.

Su Nianhe subconsciously stepped back, leaning against the moss-covered outer wall of the water tower.

The rough brick wall hurt her back.

"I wasn't avoiding you." She turned her head away, not daring to look at him. "Didn't you go to the coffee shop for a blind date today? I was afraid of interfering with your important business."

"Who told you I went on a blind date?" Shen Huai looked down at her.

"Aunt Liu said this morning that the other party is a staff member of the propaganda department and a cultured person." Su Nianhe's voice grew softer and softer.

"That was her arrangement; I didn't agree to it."

He released her hand and sighed.

"Why are you crying?" He took a clean handkerchief out of his pocket and handed it to her.
