The voluptuous and beautiful nanny, Technician Shen fell for her.

Chapter 51 What rumors are going on? It's my fault.

Su Nianhe felt as if all the air in her lungs was being sucked out.

Shen Huai relaxed a little.

The two were very close, their breaths mingling.

Su Nianhe blushed and gasped for breath, not daring to even look at him.

Shen Huai's chest heaved heavily.

After calming down for a while, he put his hands around her slender waist, picked her up, and placed her directly on the bed next to him.

He didn't sit down, but squatted down by the bed, his line of sight level with hers.

The green electric fan inside was still running, and the cool breeze dissipated some of the stuffiness.

"Nianhe," Shen Huai called her name.

Su Nianhe raised her head, her cheeks still burning.

"Would you be willing to tell me more about your situation?" Shen Huai held her hand, gently stroking the back of it with his fingertips. "I'm not forcing you to explain everything today. I just want you to know that I want to understand everything about you."

He spoke very softly, without any of the usual condescending and oppressive air he usually exuded.

Hearing this, Su Nianhe picked at the hem of her old cotton pajamas with her fingers.

She was very confused.

If I tell him, will he think I'm a crazy monster?

Wouldn't you think she's not a proper woman, a vixen who seduces men?

She bit her lower lip, hesitated for a long time, but still didn't dare to say it.

"My father's name is Su Dahe, and he's a drunkard in the village." Su Nianhe's voice was soft as she spoke, picking out the things she could talk about. "He took a fancy to a widow in the neighboring village. But his family was poor, and he was a drunkard who beat people, so no one wanted him. The widow wanted a dowry before she would marry him, and he was worried about not being able to afford it."

Shen Huai listened quietly without interrupting.

"They had already discussed it and planned to marry me off to the divorced son of a factory director." Su Nianhe's voice trembled slightly as she said this. "That man was willing to offer a large dowry. My father took the money and then married the widow. They could become a family and have a son so that the family line wouldn't end."

Shen Huai tightened his grip on her hand.

"I don't want to marry that old man." Su Nianhe sniffed. "I heard from the villagers that he has a bad temper, and his first wife was driven away by him. If I marry him, I definitely won't live long."

"So you ran away?" Shen Huai asked.

"Yes." Su Nianhe nodded. "I asked the village chief for a letter of introduction, and together with Li Lianhua from the village, we secretly climbed onto a coal train in the middle of the night. Our faces were soot-blackened when we finally got to Jiangnan City. Lianhua's aunt works as a nanny in the compound, and she kindly introduced me to Aunt Liu's place to work."

After saying this, Su Nianhe secretly glanced at Shen Huai.

Shen Huai's expression didn't change much, but his thumb kept rubbing against the back of her hand.

He knew Su Nianhe had something to say but didn't.

He had his own guesses.

But she was unwilling to talk about it, and he didn't press her for details.

Her current unease and distrust stem from his inadequacy; he failed to provide her with sufficient reassurance.

Shen Huai stood up and pulled her into his arms.

Su Nianhe leaned against his strong chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.

"It's alright now." Shen Huai rested his chin on the top of her head, his arms around her tightly. "From now on, with me here, no one can bully you. Your alcoholic father and that old man, neither of them will be able to lay a finger on you."

A man's promise sounds weighty.

Su Nianhe felt a pang of sadness, wrapped her arms around his waist, and buried her face even deeper.

Shen Huai lowered his head and kissed the top of her head, then kissed her forehead and the tip of her nose along her hair.

Su Nianhe obediently tilted her head back, thinking he was going to kiss her for a long time like before, and even closed her eyes.

After waiting for ages, the kiss I was expecting never came.

Shen Huai looked at her with her eyes closed, letting out a low chuckle.

"Get up, I'll take you downstairs." He patted her back.

Su Nianhe was stunned for a moment, then opened her eyes.

"Do I have to take you downstairs too?" she asked, somewhat surprised.

This is the second floor. It's just a few steps up the stairs to the nanny's room on the first floor. It's only a short walk. Why do you need someone to take you there?

"Hmm." Shen Huai pulled her hand and stood up. "I want to see you off."

Su Nianhe panicked and tried to pull her hand back: "Don't see us off. It's the middle of the night, and even though everyone at home is asleep, it wouldn't look good if someone saw us pulling each other downstairs."

"What's wrong with that?" Shen Huai didn't let go at all. "It's normal to bump into each other when living in the same house, going up or down the stairs. Who says you can't run into each other in the hallway in the middle of the night?"

"But……"

"No buts." Shen Huai opened the door and led her out.

A dim wall lamp was left on in the corridor.

Su Nianhe was so nervous that she could barely walk, pressing herself tightly against the wall, afraid of making the slightest noise.

Shen Huai, on the other hand, looked completely at ease and led her ahead.

The two had just reached the corner of the stairs.

A soft "click" sound suddenly came from the direction of the children's room on the first floor.

The wooden door was pulled open from the inside.

Aunt Wang, wearing an overcoat, came out yawning, muttering, "This little devil, insisting on drinking water in the middle of the night, is driving me crazy."

Su Nianhe was terrified.

If Aunt Wang were to see her coming down from the second floor in the middle of the night, holding hands with Shen Huai, the news would spread throughout the entire compound by tomorrow morning.

She frantically tried to run back.

Shen Huai reacted quickly, stretching out his long arm and pulling her directly into the shadowy corner where miscellaneous items were stored at the bottom of the stairs.

The space is extremely small.

Su Nianhe was held in his arms, her back pressed against the wall.

Shen Huai's tall figure blocked her way, completely shielding her from view.

Aunt Wang shuffled through the kitchen in her cloth shoes.

The kitchen light came on.

The faucet was turned on, and the sound of running water came out.

Su Nianhe hid in the shadows, not daring to breathe.

The two were standing too close.

The man's breath brushed against her ear, the warm air making her feel itchy all over.

She dared not move, and could only stretch out two fingers, gripping the fabric of Shen Huai's tank top tightly.

Shen Huai lowered his head and looked at her nervous face in the dim light.

He found it amusing and deliberately moved closer.

"What are you afraid of?" he lowered his voice, his lips almost touching her earlobe. "Dating isn't like stealing."

Su Nianhe hurriedly covered his mouth, warning him in a very soft voice, "Don't speak! You promised me you wouldn't let Aunt Liu and the others know. If Aunt Wang finds out, it's the same as Aunt Liu finding out."

Shen Huai took the hand she was covering her mouth with and kissed it in her palm.

Su Nianhe's body went limp, and her legs almost gave way.

Why is this man always like this? He's usually so cold in front of other people.

Fortunately, Aunt Wang acted quickly. After pouring the hot water, she turned off the kitchen light and went back to the children's room.

Only after hearing the door close did Su Nianhe let out a long sigh of relief.

"Let's go." Shen Huai pulled her out of the shadows.

Su Nianhe walked the remaining few steps very quickly, wishing she could fly straight back to the nanny's room.

When she arrived at the nanny's room, she pushed the door open and turned to look at Shen Huai.

"I'm here, I'm going to sleep," she whispered, indicating that he could go upstairs.

Shen Huai didn't leave.

He stood by the door frame, raised his hand, and gently touched her cheek with his large palm.

The fingertips had thin calluses and felt warm to the touch.

He lowered his head and kissed her lips again, a fleeting touch.

"Go in." Shen Huai's voice was calm. "From now on, stay here peacefully and don't live in fear every day. If there are any rumors in the compound, it's my fault, and I'll handle it."

These words were like a reassuring pill, landing directly in Su Nianhe's heart.

She looked at Shen Huai, her bright eyes filled with reassurance.

"Okay." She nodded obediently.

"Lock the door," Shen Huai instructed before turning and walking towards the stairs.

Su Nianhe stood at the door, watching his tall figure disappear around the corner, before retreating back into the house.

The wooden door closed.

She leaned against the door, her hand covering her chest.

My heart was pounding.
