The voluptuous and beautiful nanny, Technician Shen fell for her.

Chapter 54 The Plan to Purchase Goods in Guangzhou

"Lotus, keep your voice down!"

Su Nianhe hurriedly covered her mouth, glancing around nervously, "Nobody knows about this, please don't tell anyone."

Li Lianhua pulled her hand down, her expression complex.

"You're incredibly bold. Who is that? He's the mayor's son. These officials in the compound are very particular about social status." Li Lianhua was worried for her. "He's only interested in you now, buying you clothes. What if his family finds out one day, or he gets tired of you? The Shen family will definitely kick you out, and you won't even have a place to stay in Jiangnan City."

These words were like a bucket of cold water, but they couldn't extinguish the resolve in Su Nianhe's heart.

"He said he would take care of things at home, and that he had applied for a house at the factory, and would take me to move out once the housing allocation came through," Su Nianhe confessed honestly, touching the gold peony design under her collar. "He even took me to buy gold. Lotus, I think he was serious."

After hearing this, Li Lianhua remained silent for a long time.

They've even applied for a house and bought gold; this is definitely not just a casual affair.

"If it really works out, then you're lucky." Li Lianhua sighed, switching the water spinach to her other hand. "But my aunt taught me that relying on others is unreliable. Even if Technician Shen is good to you, you still have to be prepared."

Su Nianhe nodded: "I know. I also want to earn my own money and don't want to rely on him for everything."

Li Lianhua's eyes lit up, and she grabbed Su Nianhe's arm: "Perfect timing, I've been thinking about this the other day. My aunt said that now that we're in a period of reform and opening up, there are many places outside where you can do business on your own, and you don't have to be a maid serving others."

"Doing business?"

"That's right! I've made up my mind. I'll work at the vice mayor's house for a few more months, save up some capital, and then I'll start a street stall." Li Lianhua became more and more excited as she spoke. "I heard that if you go to Guangzhou to buy goods and bring them back to sell, you can make several times the profit. There are more and more street stalls in Jiangnan City now, and you can earn more in a day than you would in a month working in a factory."

Su Nianhe was somewhat bewildered.

Guangzhou is so far away, she didn't even get a proper look around Jiang City.

"But Guangzhou is so far away, can we manage?"

"Why not?" Li Lianhua patted her chest. "It's just that there are a lot of petty thieves on the old-fashioned green train, and I've heard there are even kidnappers. I'm worried about going alone. Nianhe, do you want to come with me? If we go together, we won't be afraid."

Su Nianhe's heart raced.

They source the goods themselves and sell them for profit.

"My aunt said that working for a few months to save some money and marrying into a good family in the city is the proper way out. But I think that while marrying a city person is certainly good, if we can earn our own money, we'll have more confidence and no one can bully us," Li Lianhua said resolutely.

Su Nianhe thought Lianhua was right.

No matter how good Shen Huai is to her, she can't just take advantage of him.

She needs to have her own confidence.

"Okay." Su Nianhe agreed. "I'll try to save up some wages at the Shen family's place these next few months, and then we'll figure something out together."

The two huddled together for a while, whispering about what to sell at their stall, until they heard someone calling Li Lianhua from the front yard of the deputy mayor's house, at which point they reluctantly parted ways.

As evening approached, the sunset glowed a fiery red.

When Su Nianhe returned to the Shen family home, the food preparation in the kitchen was almost complete.

She had just cut the washed eggplants into chunks when she heard the sound of a bicycle entering the yard.

Shen Huai is back.

Su Nianhe held the kitchen knife in her hand, her heart skipping a beat.

A few minutes later, the kitchen door was pushed open.

Shen Huai, dressed in light gray overalls with one button undone at the collar, walked in, bringing with him the heat of the outside.

He closed the door behind him with a click, turning the kitchen into a closed, private space.

Su Nianhe turned her head, her breathing slightly erratic: "You're back."

Shen Huai didn't say anything, but strode over and blocked her between the sink and the cutting board.

"Where did you go this afternoon?" he asked in a low, casual voice.

"I went to talk to Lianhua for a while," Su Nianhe answered honestly, leaning back against the edge of the sink.

Shen Huai raised his hand, his large, well-defined palm covering her collarbone.

He moved forward half an inch.

Su Nianhe gasped, quickly put down the cleaver in her hand, and braced her hands against his work jacket.

"Stop fooling around, Aunt Liu and the others will be back soon," she whispered a reminder.

"Hold me for a while." Shen Huai didn't back down. Instead, he put his hands behind her back, held her lower back, and pulled her forcefully into his arms.

Su Nianhe was choked by him and could hardly breathe, so she turned her head away to avoid his warm breath.

"Shen Huai, Lianhua told me that she wants to go to Guangzhou to buy goods and set up a stall in a few months." Su Nianhe seized the opportunity to tell him her plans for the afternoon, "I want to go with her."

Shen Huai's arm paused for a moment.

He stepped back slightly and looked at her face.

"Going to Guangzhou to buy goods?" His tone was flat, revealing neither joy nor anger. "You don't even know the roads in Jiang City, and you want to go to Guangzhou?"

"I can learn," Su Nianhe said, her voice a little louder than before. "Lianhua said that setting up a stall can help me earn money. I want to earn money myself too."

Looking at her stubborn appearance, Shen Huai recalled her personality, which valued her job more than anything else.

"If you want to do business, that's fine," Shen Huai said without stopping him, "but you don't need to go to Guangzhou."

Su Nianhe was stunned: "If we don't go to Guangzhou, where will we get the goods?"

"He Jianjun gets his goods from Guangzhou." Shen Huai pinched the back of her neck. "Whatever you want to sell, just go directly to him. I'll put in a good word for you, and he'll give you the bottom price. You won't have to suffer on the train."

After hearing this, Su Nianhe felt a mix of emotions.

He always managed to arrange everything perfectly, paving the way for her to have the most secure path.

"But……"

"No buts." Shen Huai lowered his head, his lips brushing against her earlobe. "My girlfriend doesn't need to go out in the wind and sun and compete with others for goods. If you want to source goods yourself, then do it yourself. I'm just giving you a convenient way."

"Now, answer one question for me." Shen Huai's voice became hoarse.

"What?"

Did you miss me today?

Su Nianhe's face turned so red it was almost bleeding, and she bit her lower lip without saying a word.

Shen Huai pressed his large hand on her lower back, the threat in his voice was strong.

"I've thought about it," she said, forcing out the two words as if in resignation.

Shen Huai's chest heaved, and he let out a low chuckle. He turned his head and kissed her directly.

Outside the gate, the sound of Liu Huizhen's leather shoes had already entered the courtyard.
