Chapter 6: The Expected Result.
The fabric was very thin; Lin Yu was wearing thin trousers, while Arya was only wearing a simple, coarse cloth skirt.
The touch was incredibly soft, like bumping into a ball of cotton.
Arya's hand jerked violently, and the bowl almost slipped from her grasp. She froze, her breath catching in her throat.
Lin Yu didn't move away immediately, or rather, the spot was too narrow, and he had practically no room to hide.
The two of them were pressed together in a rather undignified position, his hip bone against her buttocks, their body heat clearly transmitted through the two thin layers of fabric.
Arya could feel the heat emanating from Lin Yu's body, which was different from the sun-kissed temperature on his arm. It was hotter and more dangerous. The heat burned in from where they touched, rising up her waist and making her lower abdomen tighten.
Arya bit her lip and remained silent. She dared not move, afraid that if she did, she would turn this unintentional touch into something else.
I could only pretend nothing had happened and continue wiping the bowl in my hands.
But his fingers were trembling, and the rim of the bowl spun between his fingers, making a clinking sound as the porcelain pieces collided.
Lin Yu's expression remained calm. He slightly turned his head, glancing at Arya's profile out of the corner of his eye.
Arya's eyes were downcast, her eyelashes trembled, her cheeks and ears were flushed red, her lips were pressed together and turned white, and fine beads of sweat appeared on the tip of her nose.
Lin Yu looked away and slowly washed away the grease from the last bowl.
He then straightened up, finally creating some distance, but at the same time, he reached his arm across Arya's side to take the bowl from her hand.
Arya looked up, their faces very close. Close enough that he could count her eyelashes, close enough that she could see the deep light in his eyes.
Arya instinctively shrank back, her head hitting the wall with a dull thud.
"It hurts." She frowned.
Lin Yu raised his hand and gently pressed his fingertips on the spot where Arya had bumped her head.
I placed my palm on her and ran my fingers through her hair. Her hair was soft and smelled of soap.
Arya froze, her heart pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of her throat.
Lin Yu simply rubbed it, then withdrew his hand, picked up the bowl from her hand, and turned to place it on the stove.
"Be careful, there shouldn't be any major problems, right?" Lin Yu smiled slightly.
Arya paused for a moment, then gave an awkward laugh.
Lin Yu didn't say anything more, but his mind was on other things.
In "Silver Girl", there are three CGs for the character Aria, each corresponding to a different trigger condition.
The first picture is taken in the kitchen.
When washing dishes, Arya accidentally drops a bowl, and if you reach out to catch it, the two of you will hug each other.
The bowl didn't break, and the person didn't fall, but the distance between them would be brought very close in that instant.
The second picture is when Arya is sick. She went to the forest to collect herbs and got caught in the rain. She came back with a high fever. Taking care of her at this time will trigger the event of changing her soaking wet clothes.
The third picture shows Arya receiving a gift; her eyes welled up with tears, and then the story took a turn...
Of course, that's a game.
The CGs are built from data, and the dialogues are pre-written; players can trigger them as long as they meet the conditions.
But this is reality.
Arya is not a string of code; she is a living, breathing person.
No one can say for sure what will happen.
"But now that the dishes are all washed, there shouldn't be any more CG scenes." Lin Yu thought to himself, preparing to leave the kitchen.
But just then, a soft exclamation suddenly came from beside my ear.
"oops!"
The sound of the bowl slipping from her hand, the rustling of porcelain against her fingers, followed by Arya's panicked gasp.
Lin Yu raised an eyebrow. "666, there's a second level."
Arya eventually slipped, and the bowl she had just wiped slipped from her fingers and fell.
She instinctively reached out to grab it, her body leaning forward, and she lost her balance.
She swayed, her knee hitting the edge of the stove, and she gasped in pain.
The bowl was about to break, and she was about to fall too.
Just as she was panicking and at a loss, a hand reached out from the side.
Lin Yu moved very quickly.
Instead of taking the bowl, he first put his arm around Arya's waist.
He tightened his arms, pulled her back, and brought her towards him.
In that instant, Arya instinctively tensed her body.
She could feel Lin Yu's warm... hard body, exuding a strong masculine aura.
Arya's face collided with Lin Yu's, her nose touching his collarbone, her lips brushing against the collar of his clothes.
At the same time, Lin Yu caught the bowl with his other hand just before it hit the ground.
The bowl was caught steadily, and so was the person.
For a moment, the kitchen fell silent.
Arya pressed herself against Lin Yu, her hands instinctively bracing against his chest, her palms resting on his heartbeat.
Boom, boom, boom.
It's very stable, neither too fast nor too slow.
She could feel the warmth of Lin Yu's chest, which radiated through two layers of fabric, making her want to pull her hand away.
But it can't be pulled back.
Lin Yu's hand was holding her waist; his hands were so big they could almost grip half of her waist.
His thumb pressed precisely on the hollow of her lower back, applying slight pressure, not much, but enough to immobilize her.
Arya's mind went completely blank for a moment, and she felt as if her legs had lost all strength and she couldn't stand steadily.
"Are you alright?" Lin Yu's voice came from above.
Arya bit her lip, nodded, and didn't dare to look up at Lin Yu's face.
She felt her face must be incredibly red, and a few strands of her hair had come down, making a mess.
Arya wanted to say thank you, to say that she was standing firm, and to ask Lin Yu to let go.
But his lips moved a few times, and not a single word came out.
Lin Yu didn't let go; he placed the bowl on the stove, making a soft, crisp sound.
His other arm was still around Arya's waist, and he glanced down at her knees.
Did you bump into something?
"No, it's nothing."
Arya straightened up, supporting herself on Lin Yu's chest, and took a half step back, pressing her back against the wall again.
A chill seeped through her clothes, and she shivered.
Lin Yu released his hand from her waist.
The warmth suddenly vanished, leaving a hollow, chilly feeling on my waist.
Arya lowered her head and tucked her stray hair behind her ear.
"I...I'll go make the bed first." After she finished speaking, she turned around and walked towards the kitchen door.
Lin Yu smiled but didn't say anything, just watched her leave.
In the living room, the fireplace crackled.
About fifteen minutes later, Arya came out of the inner room.
The redness on her face hadn't completely faded, but her expression had returned to calm, as if nothing had happened.
"The bed is made, and the bedding was just aired out a few days ago. See if you need anything else." She pointed to the inner room.
"Thank you." Lin Yu went inside.
The room was small, with a wooden bed against the wall covered with faded sheets.
The pillowcase still smelled of sunshine and was neatly folded.
A glass of water sat on the bedside table, covered with a clean cloth to keep out dust.
Lin Yu sat down on the edge of the bed, and the bed frame creaked.
The door wasn't closed properly, and Arya could be seen in the living room through the crack.
She put the dishes she had just washed into the cupboard, stood on tiptoe to reach the high shelf, her waist stretched out, and the hem of her dress was pulled up a bit, revealing a small patch of skin on her side.
It was so white it practically glowed.
After reaching for the item, she put her hand down and turned to walk towards her room.
As she passed Lin Yu's door, she paused for a moment, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end she didn't speak and tiptoed over.
With a bang, her door slammed shut.
