Mr. Pei! Don't force yourself into circles you can't fit into.
Chapter 49 You Bastard
Each punch he threw was fueled by a week's worth of pent-up rage, forcing Pei Shuli to retreat steadily, unable to even defend himself. Pei Shuli took several blows, blood trickling from his eyes and mouth, howling in pain.
Even after being beaten like this, he still didn't forget to splash dirty water on Shen Jicheng. He dodged while shouting at the top of his lungs.
"See! I hit the nail on the head, and you're getting angry! I know you've seen it all, don't worry, I won't tell my second brother—"
Shen Jicheng laughed in anger.
"Very good." He stopped hitting and switched to kicking, landing a kick on Pei Shuli's side, making him curl up. "I've seen countless people. Not only have I seen countless people, I've slept with countless people. What right do you, a peacock who likes pink underwear, have to talk to me like that?"
Pei Shuli's face turned red and white. These words had struck a nerve, and he was instantly enraged. Forgetting about feigning weakness, he braced himself on his arms, trying to turn over and retaliate. Just as he raised his fist, his wrist was gripped by an absolute force.
Pei Lin had already stepped forward, his five fingers gripping Pei Shuli's wrist so tightly that he couldn't move. Pei Lin's expression remained cold, his tone unreadable.
"Is this the place where you guys fight?"
He glanced at the two men and said, "Anyone who dares to lay a hand on me will be put to the test."
Pei Shuli was furious. Where were you all this time? Why didn't you stop Shen Jicheng when he was beating me up? You only intervened when it was my turn to do it?
But he didn't dare say those words aloud and could only swallow them back. Pei Shuli reluctantly lowered his fist and nodded at Shen Jicheng with his chin.
"Brother—brother, look at him."
He did it on purpose. That nickname is disgusting; even he finds it offensive to say it. But wasn't that the same disgusting thing Shen Jicheng did to him back then? It's a case of tit for tat.
Sure enough, Shen Jicheng's expression turned even uglier. But he still didn't let go, his fingers gripping Pei Shuli's collar tightly.
Pei Lin's gaze fell on his hand, his tone unreadable, "Let go."
Shen Jicheng froze for a moment.
Pei Shuli was adding fuel to the fire.
"Brother, look at him! He hasn't loosened my collar yet—"
Before he could finish speaking, Shen Jicheng let go.
Just as Pei Shuli breathed a sigh of relief, Shen Jicheng clenched his fist again, this time turning to Pei Lin. The fist, crackling with rage, hurtled straight towards Pei Lin's face, accompanied by a shout that was almost a roar.
"I think you're fucking blind!"
"Why did he have to come back just when I was about to make a move?! Were you blind when he attacked me?! You didn't hear him taunting me, but you heard every word I said clearly!"
"There's not a single good person in your Pei family!"
Shen Jicheng was truly enraged. All the grievances, frustrations, and anger he had accumulated over the past few days erupted at this moment, his fists flying fast and fiercely, without any restraint.
But Pei Lin reacted even faster, turning to the side, tilting his head, and raising his hand to block, accurately dodging his attacks each time.
Pei Shuli squatted on the ground, dumbfounded. He never expected that Shen Jicheng would dare to lay a hand on Pei Lin. Did this kid have a death wish? He had already started imagining a hundred ways the other man would be thrown into a snake pit.
however.
Pei Lin grabbed Shen Jicheng's outstretched fist, his fingers tightening to firmly hold the trembling fist in his palm. His brow was furrowed, his tone low and restrained.
"Have you made enough of a scene?"
Shen Jicheng looked up at him. The anger in his peach blossom eyes had not subsided, but his eyes were red and the corners of his eyes were glistening with a thin layer of water, whether from anger or grievance, it was hard to tell.
He opened his mouth, the curse word swirling on his tongue, but when it finally escaped, his voice was choked with barely suppressed sobs.
"Pei Lin, you bastard."
Pei Lin's heart skipped a beat.
He looked at Shen Jicheng's reddened eyes, and unconsciously loosened his grip on his fist. His lips were pressed into a line, and his jaw was taut.
He let go of her hand.
Shen Jicheng's fist, now free, came crashing down. Pei Lin could have dodged it, but he didn't move.
With a loud "bang," a finger bone slammed into his jaw, the force considerable. Pei Lin's head tilted slightly, and a trickle of blood immediately seeped from the corner of his mouth. He raised his hand, his fingertip gently tracing the gash, glanced down at the blood on his fingertip, then looked up at Shen Jicheng.
His tone was even a little softer than before.
"And now? Are you calmed down?"
Shen Jicheng ignored him completely and turned to run away. He went upstairs with hurried, heavy footsteps.
Pei Lin stood there, watching the figure disappear around the corner of the stairs, licked his slightly aching teeth, and cursed under his breath.
"Damn, that's some serious strength."
A moment later, his gaze fell on Pei Shuli, who was still squatting on the ground, not daring to move. The temperature in his gaze dropped rapidly, leaving only indifference.
"Restore the living room to its original state. You'll pay for everything that's broken, including the fish outside."
Pei Shuli was completely dumbfounded, and suddenly stood up.
"Second brother! He's the one who smashed them! Why should I be blamed?!"
Pei Lin didn't turn his head, walking slowly towards the stairs, his voice drifting back softly.
"If you don't provoke him, will he smash things?"
Pei Shuli: "...what?"
Pei Lin took two steps, then suddenly stopped, turned his head, and said in a warning tone, "By the way, if I ever hear you call me 'brother' again, it will disgust me."
He paused, his voice growing even colder.
"I'll pull out your tongue."
Pei Shuli: "…………"
He stood in the center of the messy living room, bruises still on his face, his mouth agape, unable to utter a word. A gust of wind blew in through the half-open window, causing the broken porcelain shards on the floor to roll gently twice.
Pei Shuli kicked the table in front of him in anger, yelling, "What the hell?!"
He stubbed his toe again, jumping up in pain and groaning. His resentment towards Shen Jicheng grew stronger; they had both caused the trouble, so why was he the one getting punished?!
Oh well, we're all going to die anyway.
He simply couldn't believe that anyone could beat up his second brother and escape unscathed!
He waited, waiting to be tortured, thrown into a snake pit, or thrown into the sea to be devoured by sharks.
In the room upstairs.
Shen Jicheng locked the door and hid inside the room, when there was a knocking sound from outside.
"Open the door." Pei Lin's deep voice came from inside.
But Shen Jicheng didn't make any move. He pursed his lips, looked out the window, and remained silent, ignoring the sounds outside.
After waiting for a moment, the sound of a doorknob turning came from outside, followed by a "beep" as the door opened. Footsteps approached from behind, but Shen Jicheng still ignored the person who came in.
