The man moved carefully, and his back was no longer stiff. He slowly sat up, supporting himself on the edge of the bed, and after moving around a bit, the pain was gone.

He let out a long breath, leaned against the headboard, his face still damp with sweat, but his complexion was no longer so pale.

The woman stood by the bed, clutching the sheets. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the man sit up, but her expression was still anxious and embarrassed, and she didn't dare to look at Chen Ping.

Chen Ping put the needles away, wiped his hands, and looked at the man. "It's nothing, just lumbar muscle strain. Lying down for a long time without moving made the muscles loose, and then the sudden strenuous exercise caused the strain."

"Be more careful next time. Didn't I tell you not to be too rough or forceful during sex? Take it easy, okay?"

The man's face changed from white to red, from red to purple, and then to purple all the way down to his neck.

He opened his mouth, as if to explain something, but then swallowed it back. He lowered his head and dug his fingers into the sheets, leaving a mark.

The woman's face turned red, even redder than the man's, the redness spreading from her face to her neck, to the roots of her ears, and into her hair.

She glanced at the man, her eyes filled with resentment, shame, and something else she couldn't quite describe.

She bit her lip, held back for several seconds, and finally managed to utter a sentence.

"I said I wouldn't do it, but you insisted, and it took you so long... Now I'm so embarrassed..."

As she spoke, her voice grew softer and softer until the last word was almost a hum from her nose. After she finished speaking, she turned around, facing the wall, not daring to look at Chen Ping or the man.

Chen Ping packed the needles, stood up, looked at the man, then glanced at the woman facing the wall, and couldn't help but smile.

"Big sister, there's no need to be embarrassed about this. It's only natural. Big brother has been holding it in for so long, so letting it out is good for his health. But he hasn't fully recovered yet, so he can't do it too often."

"Once every three to five days, for three to five minutes each time, just to satisfy your cravings. Don't overdo it. Once you're discharged from the hospital and your body has recovered, you can do whatever you want."

Chen Ping spoke calmly, without any expression or embarrassment.

As a doctor, this is nothing.

On the operating table, Chen Ping had seen many women's bodies, and they were all the same; there was nothing to be surprised about.

The woman's face turned even redder, as if it were about to burst into flames.

She turned around, glared at the man, her lips trembling several times, and squeezed out a sentence, "I won't let him do it even once before I'm discharged from the hospital."

The man hung his head, not daring to look at his wife, and muttered under his breath, "I'm not going to do it anymore. We'll talk about it after I'm better and discharged from the hospital."

Chen Ping smiled, said nothing more, told him to rest and, if permitted, to take a walk in the courtyard, and then left the ward.

He hadn't walked far when he heard a woman's voice behind him, very low, but the corridor was quiet and he could hear it clearly.

"Look at yourself, aren't you ashamed? You've already hurt your back, what can you do?" the woman complained.

"Honey, how did Dr. Chen know so quickly that my back hurt because of what we did last night? Did he eavesdrop?"

The man asked, his face full of doubt.

"That's right, how did Dr. Chen know?" The woman also looked puzzled, then glared at the man: "It's all your fault. Dr. Chen had just left last night when you couldn't wait to make your move."

"I..." the man sighed, "I just couldn't hold it in, could I?"

"Do you think Dr. Chen might have been spying on us? If I were really spied on, I'd be too ashamed to live." The more the woman spoke, the more uncertain she felt.

"Don't talk nonsense. Dr. Chen isn't that kind of person. Besides, the lights were off last night, so we couldn't see anything."

The man sternly reprimanded the woman.

Then their voices became even softer, and it was impossible to hear what they were saying; it sounded like mosquitoes buzzing.

Chen Ping stood in the corridor, his face full of helplessness. He hadn't done anything wrong, so how did he suddenly become a voyeur?

I can't go back and explain this...

"Why……"

Chen Ping sighed and left!

A cool morning breeze swept through the corridor from one end to the other, carrying the unique scent of grass and trees from the mountains in the early morning.

Chen Ping wrapped his coat tighter around himself and headed towards the cafeteria.

The lights in the canteen were already on. Aunt Li, wearing an apron, was busy at the stove. Steam rose from the steamer, and the aroma of steamed buns wafted from the kitchen, filling the entire backyard.

Aunt Li was somewhat surprised to see Chen Ping come in. "Dr. Chen, you're up so early?"

"I'm a little hungry!" Chen Ping smiled.

"The steamed buns will be ready soon!" Aunt Li lifted the pot lid and took a look.

Chen Ping didn't wait. He walked to the stove, took a bun from the steamer, scalded it so much that he switched it from his left hand to his right, blew on it twice, and took a bite.

The filling is pork and cabbage, the dough is fluffy and oily, and it smells delicious.

He took another tea egg, tapped it on the stove, and the shell broke. He peeled it open, and the egg white was imprinted with the patterns of tea leaves, brown in concentric circles.

He stuffed the tea egg into his mouth and chewed it, then took another bite of the steamed bun, his cheeks bulging.

Wang Tao arrived, yawning, his hair sticking up, and his shoelaces untied, though he didn't even realize it.

He smelled the steamed buns, his eyes lit up, and he went to the stove to grab one, only to have Aunt Li slap his hand.

"We'll eat once everyone's here."

"Dr. Chen ate it all." Wang Tao covered his hand, looking aggrieved.

"Dr. Chen has to take care of patients at night. Have you taken care of any patients?" Aunt Li asked.

Wang Tao stopped talking, withdrew his hand, sat down at the table, stared at the steamer, and swallowed.

Liu Wei came, Li Fang came, Wang Jianguo came, and they walked in one by one.

Zhao Guosheng arrived last, carrying a large jar. He sat down at the table, placed the jar on it, lifted the lid of the steamer, and steam rose from the steamed buns, which were white and fluffy.

Aunt Li brought out the porridge and pickled vegetables, one bowl of porridge, two steamed buns, and one tea egg for each person.

Wang Tao ate the fastest, taking two bites to finish a steamed bun. His cheeks bulged out like a toad's. He choked, but then drank a mouthful of porridge and swallowed it.

Cui Ying pulled Zhou Xiaohe in. Both of them had changed their clothes and their hair was neatly tied up.

Zhou Xiaohe's face was clean and her eyes were bright; she looked even more energetic than yesterday.

She sat down next to Cui Ying, held a bowl of porridge, blew on it, and took a small sip.

Cui Ying glanced at Chen Ping and asked, "Who was knocking on the door so early in the morning? I heard it from inside."

Chen Ping stuffed the last bite of the steamed bun into his mouth, chewed and swallowed, drank a mouthful of porridge, and wiped his mouth.

He leaned close to Cui Ying's ear, lowered his voice, and told her about the man's back injury. He didn't go into too much detail, just saying, "Our sex life was too intense, and I strained my back."

Cui Ying's face flushed red instantly, from her neck all the way to the roots of her ears, as red as a boiled shrimp.

Her hand holding the bowl of porridge froze in mid-air, almost spilling the porridge. She quickly put it down, lowered her head, and stirred the porridge in the bowl with her chopsticks for a long time without eating a single bite.

Zhou Xiaohe tilted her head and looked at her, asking, "Sister Cui Ying, why is your face red?"

"It's hot."

Cui Ying picked up the porridge bowl and pretended to drink it, the bowl obscuring half of her face.

Chen Ping was peeling a tea egg with his head down, a slight smile playing on his lips, but he didn't laugh out loud.

Wang Tao, unaware of what had happened, mumbled with his mouth full of steamed buns, "Dr. Chen, what did you say to Sister Cui Ying? Look how red her face is."

Before Chen Ping could speak, Li Fang said, "Wang Tao, you're just a kid, don't pry into things like this. You don't understand matters between men and women."

"Sister Fang, don't underestimate me. Who says I don't understand? I'm already twenty-one. How could I not understand such trivial matters?" Wang Tao said in a mature manner.

"Really? You know all that? Then tell me, what do you know...?"

Li Fang moved closer to Wang Tao, and the two were almost face to face.

Wang Tao blushed immediately and quickly got up to leave, saying, "I'm full..."

Seeing Wang Tao's embarrassed look, Li Fang burst into laughter.

Everyone else laughed along, but Zhou Xiaohe looked blank, sitting and eating as if she didn't quite understand.
