Chen Ping nodded without hesitation after listening, "This is a good thing. The health center was just renovated recently, and the clinics are all empty. The environment and equipment are much better than before."

"Don't worry, Dean Sun, I've arranged everything: the consultation room, desks and chairs, utilities, internet, and light. Just let me know in advance if you need anything."

Vice Dean Sun smiled, took out a business card from his bag and handed it over, "Then it's settled. Our people will arrive tomorrow. I'm just here to give you a heads-up."

"Here's my contact information. If you need any coordination, just contact me directly."

"So urgent?" Chen Ping was taken aback. He took the business card and looked at it. It had his name and job title printed on it, and a mobile phone number below.

"Dean Sun and his team are pressed for time and have a heavy workload. After finishing their free clinic in our township, they still have several other townships to visit."

Zhang Jianmin offered an explanation.

"Okay, I'll go back and tell Dean Zhao right away that we'll get the consultation room ready today."

Chen Ping nodded.

"Thank you very much, Dr. Chen..." Vice President Sun shook hands with Chen Ping.

"It's our duty. Seeking benefits for the people is what our grassroots health centers should do."

Chen Ping put the business card in his pocket, said a few more words to Vice Dean Sun, and then took his leave.

He needed to go back and tell Zhao Guosheng as soon as possible, and then prepare the consultation room.

Chen Ping walked back, and Vice President Sun looked at Zhang Jianmin and said, "Secretary Zhang, as for grassroots publicity, we still need your support. Try your best to let the people at the grassroots level know about our benefits."

"Don't worry, Dean Sun, I'll have the village chiefs broadcast this over the loudspeakers so that all the elderly people over sixty in our township know about the benefits we're bringing," Zhang Jianmin said.

"Thank you for your trouble, Secretary Zhang. I still have to go to other townships for talks, so I won't bother you any longer!"

After finishing his speech, Vice President Sun left Zhang Jianmin's office.

Zhang Jianmin personally escorted him out; the vice president of a provincial hospital was far more powerful than Zhang Jianmin, a deputy secretary of a township.

After seeing off Vice President Sun, Zhang Jianmin immediately notified all the villages under the jurisdiction of Siping Township in the WeChat group to start the publicity campaign.

Chen Ping returned to the health center and quickly went to Zhao Guosheng's office.

Zhao Guosheng was drinking tea, with his legs crossed, listening to opera on his phone.

Since Chen Ping arrived, the Siping Township Health Center has become more profitable and there's not much to do, so Zhao Guosheng has finally found complete leisure time.

Now, he spends his days drinking tea and listening to operas; if anything happens, Chen Ping will handle it.

After he retires, the Siping Township Health Center will be handed over to Chen Ping.

That was Zhao Guosheng's plan, but he didn't know if Chen Ping was willing to take it on.

After all, if he takes over, he'll really have to stay in Siping Township for the rest of his life.

"Dean..." Chen Ping called out as he entered the office.

When Zhao Guosheng saw Chen Ping arrive, he turned off his phone, then asked Chen Ping to sit in front of him and personally poured him a glass of water.

"Dr. Chen, how's it going? Is the province organizing some kind of free clinic?" Zhao Guosheng asked.

Chen Ping took a sip of water and then nodded. "Yes, the Third People's Hospital of the province is sending experts to provide free medical services. The township health center needs to provide the consultation room space, and the township will cover the food and lodging. The health center only needs to provide the space."

Upon hearing this, Zhao Guosheng's face crinkled into a wide smile. "Cooperating with the provincial hospital? This is like a windfall! When has our health center ever connected with a provincial hospital?"

"The fact that they came is a sign of respect for us, and it's also an honor for you, Dr. Chen. We must prepare properly; I'll personally tidy up the consultation room."

"By the way, did you say what your arrival time was?"

Chen Ping smiled and said, "Vice Dean Sun said they'll arrive tomorrow, and they'll bring their own equipment."

"Tomorrow?" Zhao Guosheng was taken aback. "So soon?"

"They're not just doing free clinics in Siping Township; they're going to other townships too, so time is very tight," Chen Ping explained.

"Understood, understood!" Zhao Guosheng nodded repeatedly, then stood up and said, "I'll go arrange the consultation room now."

Zhao Guosheng hurriedly walked out of the office and then shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Zhou Jie, Xiao Yan, you two come here and clean up those two rooms at the west end of the corridor."

"Wang Tao, you go make the banner now, and I'll tell you what to write."

"Liu Mazi, take some men and sweep the yard clean, especially the leaves on the trees, make sure they're all gone."

Zhao Guosheng began assigning tasks.

Chen Ping smiled, picked up his cup, took a sip, then got up and left the office to continue working in his clinic.

The health center was extremely busy all afternoon.

Liu Mazi swept the yard from one end to the other with a large broom, and then swept it back from the other end. The fallen leaves piled up into a huge heap, which Ma Zhihao carried in a cart to the garbage dump outside the yard wall, trip after trip.

Fatty Zhang wiped the windows of the clinic inside and out twice with a rag. He even picked the dust out of the cracks in the window frame with his fingernails. After wiping, he took two steps back to look at them, then went back up to do some more cleaning.

Wang Tao, holding the finished banner, followed Liu Wei to hang it at the entrance of the health center.

The banner read, "Warmly welcome the experts from the Third People's Hospital of the province to provide free medical consultations."

Li Fang peeked out of the pharmacy window and laughed, "Wang Tao, the banner you hung is uneven, can't you see?"

"Where?" Wang Tao glanced at it, then asked Liu Wei, "Brother Wei, isn't it hanging crooked?"

"Damn it, I told you not to call him Viagra." Liu Wei rolled his eyes at Wang Tao. "Get down here, I'll handle it!"

Li Fang watched the two bickering, smiled, and pulled her head back out the window.

Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan were busy in the two clinics at the west end.

The new tables and chairs were extras bought during the last renovation and had been gathering dust in a corner of the warehouse. Now they've been brought out, cleaned, and neatly arranged in rows in the clinic.

The tabletop was wiped so clean you could see your reflection in it, and small pieces of wood were placed under the four legs of the chair to prevent it from making a scraping noise on the floor.

Zhou Jie even brought a potted green ivy from her dormitory and placed it on the windowsill. Its leaves were lush and green, and several vines hung down, making the bare windowsill look much more lively.

After seeing the last few patients in the afternoon, Chen Ping stood up, stretched his neck, and walked to the west end of the corridor to glance at the two cleaned-up consultation rooms.

The windows were bright and clean, the tables and chairs were neatly arranged, and the trash can in the corner was newly replaced.

"Good job, you two deserve praise..." Chen Ping gave Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan a thumbs up.

"Dr. Chen, do you think the experts at the provincial hospital are all getting old?" Sun Xiaoyan asked.

"That's not necessarily true. Some people become experts in their thirties. They have special skills in their field and it's easy for them to be recognized as experts."

"If you two work hard, maybe in ten years you'll be experts in the nursing profession."

Chen Ping said to the two of them with a smile.

"Dr. Chen is really joking. What kind of expert is there in nursing?"

Zhou Jie smiled and shook her head.
