The plot is quite simple:

Xiao Wei is actually a beautiful fox spirit from the Nine Heavens. She maintains her human appearance by consuming human hearts. She admires Wang Sheng's gentleness and gradually covets the position of the principal wife. She secretly uses sorcery to bewitch people, and a series of heart-draining murders occur inside and outside the Wang Mansion.

Wang Sheng's wife, Pei Rong, noticed Xiao Wei's strange behavior but was instead framed by sorcery. With nowhere else to turn, she sought help from her former lover, the wandering warrior Pang Yong.

Xiao Wei relentlessly pressured Pei Rong, forcing her to drink the demonic poison, causing her hair to turn completely white and demonic markings to appear on her body, turning her into a "demon" that the entire city wanted to kill.

The truth was finally revealed in the underground city. Wang Sheng knew Xiao Wei was a demon, but he still confessed:
