I reign supreme in the Western fantasy world for eternity.

The two walked side by side through the garden. The roses on both sides of the white stone path were in full bloom, and butterflies fluttered among the flowers, occasionally landing on a flower before flying away again.

Elena's steps were light, her braids swaying gently behind her, and a few strands of hair were blown by the wind, brushing against Ji Tian's nose.

Ji Tian walked to the corner of the garden and suddenly stopped.

Elena looked at him in confusion, only to see him raise his hand and gently wave it in the air. A thin, faint film disappeared from his body, and his shadow became clear in the sunlight.

Elena subconsciously looked around. There were only a few students scattered around the garden, some sitting, some standing, all in the distance, and no one was paying attention to them.

"you--"

"There's no monitoring magic from the magic tower here, so it's very safe. We don't need any extra application to go to the library, so I can accompany you openly and honestly."

Ji Tian mainly felt that using magic while accompanying Elena to class was fine, since he already knew everything the professor taught, and it wouldn't constitute any suspicion of stealing his teacher's knowledge.

However, it would be extremely impolite to sneak into a library that has a Grand Magus in charge and is obviously full of "sect scriptures".

Elena nodded, and subconsciously reached out to tug at his sleeve. "Then stick close to me, don't get lost."

Elena's fingers jerked back, but she didn't pull away. A blush crept onto her cheeks, and she didn't say another word on the way.

The library is one of the largest buildings in the inner courtyard. It is made of gray-white stone and has a huge oak door at the main entrance. The words "Civilization Burns Forever" are engraved on the lintel, which is the same as the inscription on the archway of the outer courtyard.

Two librarians, a man and a woman, both around forty years old, stood in front of the door, wearing dark blue uniforms and badges that read "library librarian."

Elena stepped forward and handed over her student ID.

The female administrator took it, swiped it on the magic crystal board, and with a thud, the information appeared.

She looked up at Elena, then at Ji Tian behind her, her gaze lingering for a moment on the silver-white visitor badge on his chest.

"Is this your visitor?"

"Yes, the visitor sponsored by an inner court student has had their permissions processed."

The female librarian nodded, took two thin, transparent crystal pieces from a drawer, and placed them on the table. "These are your library cards. Please bind them to your student ID and badge, respectively. Once you enter the library, the cards will automatically record your borrowing information. Please return them when you leave and keep them safe."

Once they had completed the binding process, the female administrator stepped aside to clear the way.

"Please come in, both of you. The books on each floor are listed on the sign at the entrance on the first floor. If you need any assistance, please feel free to ask the floor manager."

The oak door was pushed open, and a smell of old paper, leather, and wooden bookshelves wafted out.

Ji Tian followed Elena into the hall. Looking up, he saw that the dome was three stories high and inlaid with huge murals.

The first academy dean stood on a cloud, holding an open book in his hands. Countless golden runes flew out from the pages, falling to earth like stars.

A guide sign stood in the center of the hall. Elena stopped and read it carefully.

"The first floor contains a general history and basic theories of magic, the second floor contains treatises on magic of each department, the third floor contains manuscripts from past deans, and the fourth floor is a forbidden library that requires additional application."

Ji Tian was puzzled as to why the manuscripts of the past deans were not placed in the forbidden library and why they could be viewed without an application.

Elena turned to look at Ji Tian. "Where do you want to go?"

"Third floor."

She was somewhat surprised. "Don't you want to read the treatises on various schools of magic?"

"We'll talk about those things later. The Dean's manuscripts are much rarer. Didn't you say before that many of the past Deans were legendary Archmages? Their manuscripts might contain things that aren't even recorded in the classics."

Elena nodded, and the two of them climbed the spiral staircase.

The third floor was a bit dimmer than the first floor. A guide in a gray robe came up to us. He was about fifty years old, with gray hair, gold-rimmed glasses on his nose, and a kind face.

"What kind of books would you two like to read? The third floor mainly contains manuscripts from past deans, and the classification is rather unique, so I'll need to help you find them."

Elena felt that she was not yet capable of understanding the profound thoughts of a legendary mage, so she turned to Ji Tian and asked for his opinion.

Ji Tian said, "We'd like to first look at the manuscripts of past deans concerning time or space magic."

The guide nodded, turned and walked deeper into the bookshelves, saying as he went:

"The fifth headmaster, Herman, was a master of spatial magic; his manuscripts are on the third floor, on the east side, seventh row. The eleventh headmaster, Rachel, had a deep understanding of both time and space; she was on the third floor, on the west side, second row. In addition, the sixteenth headmaster, Lancelot, had a manuscript containing a section on time magic, but to this day, no one in the academy has fully understood his thinking."

Elena followed behind, asking curiously, "Why aren't these manuscripts kept in the forbidden library? They must be very valuable."

The guide stopped, turned to the two, and a slight smile appeared on his lips. "The Forbidden Library only seals away inhumane forbidden spells: most of them are disease-related magic that can cause a plague to spread in an area in a short time; a small portion are forbidden rituals that sacrifice lives to evil gods, and those who touch them will suffer mental pollution at best, and instant death at worst. Although the manuscripts of the past deans are difficult to understand, none of them involve those things."

He paused, his tone carrying a sense of seniority and sigh, "Besides, the manuscript is just a pile of yellowed paper. Anyway, the contents have already been backed up. If it's put on the bookshelf for people to see, and a genius student can understand it, that would be a pleasant surprise. The academy won't keep it to itself. Although a student who can understand some of the contents might not appear for ten years, as long as one does, the academy won't lose out."

Elena nodded thoughtfully.

The guide led them to the seventh row of bookshelves on the east side, pointing to a row of yellowed manuscripts. "These are Dean Herman's manuscripts on spatial magic. Please feel free to browse them, and put them back when you're done. If you need to borrow them out of the library, you can complete the procedures in the lobby on the first floor."

He bowed and turned to leave.

Elena stood on tiptoe, pulled a manuscript from the bookshelf, and handed it to Ji Tian. "The guide said 'most people won't understand it.' Do you think you can understand it?"

Ji Tian took the manuscript, opened the first page, and saw densely packed runes and magic formulas.
