The divine descent occurred at dusk, and by the time Ji Tian stepped into the Royal Capital Magic Academy, it was already late at night.

Perhaps the commotion caused by the divine intervention was too great, because almost all the lights in the dormitory buildings were still on.

Ji Tian arrived at the entrance of Building 61, used his spiritual power to wipe away the lingering traces of battle from his robes, and then opened the door.

Elena was sitting on the sofa in the living room, holding a cup of flower tea that had gone cold.

She heard the door open, looked up, and saw his figure reflected in her gray-blue eyes. Her tense shoulders finally relaxed.

"You're back?"

"Um."

"Did it go smoothly?"

"smoothly."

Elena didn't ask any further questions. She simply walked over and stood on tiptoe to straighten his collar—there was a scorch mark left by divine power there. She saw it but said nothing.

"Are you hungry? There's still some porridge in the kitchen."

I'm not hungry.

"Then...shall we go and rest?"

"it is good."

The two went upstairs.

Elena stopped at the top of the stairs on the second floor, glanced back at him, her lips moved, but in the end she only said "Goodnight" before pushing open the door and going into her room.

Ji Tian was momentarily dazed as he watched this scene, and couldn't help but recall her arrogant demeanor when they first met.

So, in which year of their relationship did Elena's personality begin to change?

"Time flies." Ji Tian smiled and shook his head, then walked up to the third-floor meditation room and sat cross-legged on the futon.

Only now did he finally have time to reflect on the gains and losses of that night.

He won.

The god of industry transformed into a book, which lay obediently in his sleeve. The torn pages were resealed, and the crisis in the capital was temporarily averted.

Everything went according to plan.

In fact, he also took a risk.

He had no idea what would happen if the few fragments inside the God of Industry truly revived the Father God's consciousness.

Perhaps the Father God will awaken from the fragments of divinity, possess the God of Industry, and become an older, more powerful, and more unpredictable being.

Perhaps the Father God's consciousness will never fully awaken; it will only cause the God of Industry to fall into a mental split, half of himself and half of the Father God's obsession.

He bet on the latter.

Four fragments are not enough to fully resurrect a deity erased by the god of information, but they should be enough to cause the god of industry to suffer a mental breakdown.

He will be torn between fear and desire, unable to focus or concentrate his full strength, and at that point, he will have more options at his disposal.

Fortunately, the other party backed down first.

The god of industry chose to submit, unwilling to relinquish the authority bestowed upon him by this new era.

He feared the Father and also feared disappearing.

"The ancients were right: 'To conquer a city is the lowest form of warfare, to conquer a mind is the highest.'"

He paused, then remembered another question.

The God of Industry said that His father was the "God of Industry," who was defeated by the gods of the Information Age in the original world and wiped His father off the pantheon in one fell swoop.

That's not right.

The title "God of Industry" sounds like it encompasses everything from steam to electricity and even automation, but in the original world, the opponent was clearly defeated by the gods of the "Information Age".

Shouldn't the information age be a continuation and advancement of the industrial age?

Logically, the god of industry should be able to extend his authority to the information field, so how could it be erased by a string of gibberish?

Could it be that the other party is not the real "God of Industry" at all, but just a self-proclaimed title? Perhaps His authority is limited to "steam" or "machinery", and not even "electricity"? That is why He could not suppress the real concept of industry and was easily kicked out by the newcomers.

"Could it be that they couldn't suppress the name 'Industry' and that's why they were kicked out?!" Ji Tian thought to himself, shaking his head and no longer dwelling on it.

Every world has its own set of laws. In that world, He was called the "God of Industry," but in this world, He could only rely on steam engines and textile machines to reassemble His divine body.

The name is just a facade; the boundaries of authority are the real issue.

Ji Tian suppressed these distracting thoughts and began to meditate and regulate his breathing.

……

Royal Palace, Council Chamber.

The magical crystal lamps on the dome illuminated the entire hall, and a dark green velvet cloth was spread on the long table, with several documents scattered among it.

Prince George, the current king's younger brother, is about forty years old. He has a thin face and deep-set eyes. He is sitting in the main seat, his fingers lightly tapping the table.

On his left and right sat the commander and deputy commander of the Royal Guard, as well as the Minister of the Interior who had been frightened during the interrogation.

Sitting opposite them were three archmages dressed in dark blue professor's robes. The one in the lead was the vice-dean, Theodore Sterling, whose expression was calm, but a hint of weariness was hidden in his eyes.

At the other end of the long table sat a young woman dressed in a white robe with a silver holy emblem hanging on her chest.

Anna, a former member of the Hero Squad and now a senior deacon of the Royal Capital Diocese.

The three major powers of the capital city gathered together.

Prince George looked at Anna and asked, "Deacon Anna, how is the Archbishop?"

Anna said softly:

"Lord Valentine's vital signs have stabilized, and he is currently receiving Holy Light treatment. There is no immediate danger to his life."

However, he lost an arm and suffered a severe emotional shock, and will not recover in the short term. The Church has applied to the Holy City for the appointment of a new cardinal; until then, I will temporarily assume the duties of the Royal Diocese.

The prince nodded, asked no further questions, and gestured for the Minister of the Interior to explain the whole story.

The Minister of the Interior cleared his throat and began to recount everything that had happened in the dungeon: from the interrogation and self-destruction of the cursed apostle, to the descent of the god of industry, to Cardinal Valentine's fierce battle with the evil god, and the clash between holy light and divine power...

His voice trailed off as he spoke of Valentine's defeat, the loss of his scepter, and the cutting off of his arm.

Theodore began, "And then?"

The Minister of the Interior raised his head, his gaze complex. "Then, a young man appeared. He was dressed in white, with black hair, but his face was obscured."

He used only Holy Light... the most basic Holy Light spell, imbued with his fist, and shattered the evil god with each punch.

The council chamber was completely silent.

"Disintegrated?" a high archmage couldn't help but exclaim. "How could the body of an evil god be disintegrated by basic holy light magic?"

The commander of the Imperial Guard continued, "But that's the truth. He tried to escape, but it was no use against that person. His spatial jump was interrupted, his clones were locked on, and in the end, he was forced to self-destruct, and that person disappeared as well."

"And then?" Theodore asked.

The Minister of the Interior shook his head. "After that, we don't know. It seems that the person used spatial magic in the capital, and then said that the aura of the evil god disappeared in the capital."

The large-scale spatial restriction magic in the royal capital was jointly developed by the royal family and the academy... Could it be that...?

All eyes turned to the academy.

Theodore paused for a moment, his gaze sweeping over his two colleagues beside him.

They saw the same question in each other's eyes: When did this kind of person appear in the academy?

No.

At least they don't know.

Could it be the dean's doing?

Theodore recalled the cardinal's sarcastic "thank you" at the dinner two months ago...

Regardless of whether it is true or not, let's deny it for now until the headmaster returns.

He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, "Not from the academy."

The prince was taken aback. "Not the academy? The royal family didn't get involved either, so who is he—"

"I don't know," Theodore interrupted him, "but since he helped the capital, he's not an enemy for now."
