I reign supreme in the Western fantasy world for eternity.

The fairies were merely using magic to repair the houses, but their skillful manipulation gave the illusion of time travel.

In contrast, the giant serpent that had gone mad was much less adept at manipulating magic energy, making numerous mistakes. It relied solely on the powerful and mixed magic energy within its body to rampage and overpower everything with sheer force.

Further reasoning: if the giant snake had stopped even once during its pursuit of the fairy, using its magical abilities to reshape its body and stabilize its consciousness, it might not have been so easily defeated by Ji Tian.

It has completely lost that ability, leaving only the pure instinct to devour.

Ji Tian sat quietly in place, watching as the damaged buildings of the town gradually returned to their original state from ruins in just half an hour.

The roof was re-thatched, the courtyard walls were closed as before, and even the overturned stone slabs were put back in their original positions, as if the disaster had just happened as a brief nightmare.

Just then, a young woman wearing a dark gray cloak strode quickly from the other end of town.

She was rather thin, with a half-full wine sachet hanging from her waist and a harp on her back. She walked with an unsteady sway, clearly having had a few drinks before coming.

She stopped at the edge of the ruins, her gaze sweeping over the shrinking, shrunken afterimages of the fairies, then over the uneven ground on the street, before finally settling on the long trench carved out by the snake's body.

She inquired around and soon learned about the giant snake.

"This shouldn't be happening. Shouldn't that snake still be being hunted by the Knights? How did it end up here?"

Upon hearing this, Ji Tian's mind raced and he went to meet them.

"Do you recognize that snake?"

The female bard raised her head, glanced at him, and when she saw the holy sword at his waist, she raised an eyebrow and quickly bowed in greeting.

"Greetings, Sir Knight. I am a bard. I have indeed heard of that snake. It is no ordinary creature; it is the offspring of a second-generation fairy, a genuine third-generation fairy. Unfortunately, it has gone mad. The Knights have been chasing it for over half a month, but I never expected it to come here."

After sensing the spatial restriction disappear, Ji Tian took out a spirit wine pot from his spatial ring and handed it to the other person: "Could you explain in detail?"

The female bard took it, opened the lid, smelled it, and her eyes immediately lit up. She cleared her throat, sat cross-legged on a half-buried stone bench by the roadside, and began to tell her story:

"Legend has it that long, long ago, the World Tree gave birth to seven first-generation fairies, who each mastered one of the seven primordial powers besides wood and life: fire, water, wind, earth, light, darkness, and thunder."

These seven first-generation fairies did not reproduce. Instead, they sprinkled their blood on the earth, and from where it dripped, various creatures of different forms emerged—these were the second-generation fairies.

Second-generation fairies are mostly terrestrial animals, with varying forms and powers.

"Second-generation fairies can continue their lineage in two ways: one is through reproduction of their own kind, producing pure third-generation fairies; the other is by transforming ordinary animals into their familiars, who, although they can also be called fairies, have a much weaker bloodline and are much less powerful."

This giant serpent belongs to the former category; it's a direct descendant of second-generation fairies, ranking very high in the bloodline sequence... Sigh, Sir Knight, what are you looking at?

Ji Tian heard the sound of hundreds of warhorses galloping simultaneously from the direction of the town entrance. As they approached, dust rose and obscured half of the sky.

Why are so many people here?

Leading the group were three knights, dressed in polished, gleaming standard armor with iron-gray emblems engraved on their breastplates.

A falcon-like elf perched on the shoulder of the knight at the very front. Its black feathers gleamed metallically in the sunlight, and it scanned the ruins below with sharp eyes.

Beside him, a demon resembling an old yellow dog was sniffing the ground, leading the group closer in that direction.

The caravan stopped at the town's entrance. The lead knight turned his head slightly, made eye contact with the eagle for a moment, and then dismounted.

His adjutant, who was following closely behind, also dismounted and led the old yellow dog-like demon forward.

The adjutant's gaze swept over the newly renovated houses in the town, then over the broken tiles that hadn't yet been moved from the streets, and finally settled on the mayor.

The mayor had only been there a short time and hadn't had a chance to learn about the situation. When he saw the insignia on the knights' uniforms, his face paled noticeably, and he quickly went to greet them.

"My lords... are you here to hunt that giant serpent?"

The adjutant handed the horse's reins to the attendant beside him, looking down at him:

"The giant serpent's aura disappeared here. Has anyone in your town seen it?"

"Sir, I just arrived from the other side of town and don't know the exact details yet. However, some of the townspeople should have seen it; you can ask them directly..."

The adjutant frowned, twirled his riding crop halfway in his hand, stopped in front of the town mayor, and his tone suddenly turned cold:

"You mean, you want me to talk to those commoners?"

The mayor froze, realizing he had misspoke, and quickly lowered his head: "No, no, please forgive me, sir. I'll go find someone to find out and give you an answer as soon as possible."

The adjutant raised his riding whip slightly, as if preparing to do something, but at that moment, he saw the two figures standing on the other side of the street.

A young man dressed in a white robe had a sword with ancient patterns hanging at his waist; another man was clad in full silver armor, and behind the house where his view was obscured, a huge golden fairy could be vaguely seen.

The adjutant paused, put down his whip, coughed lightly, and his tone became gentler, as if he had become a completely different person:

"Mayor, I have urgent business to attend to. You may leave now."

The town mayor was stunned for a moment, looking up at him, seemingly not quite understanding. He had expected to be taught a lesson, but to his surprise, the other party suddenly changed his attitude and waved for him to leave.

"Let's go," the adjutant repeated, frowning.

The mayor then came to his senses, nodded repeatedly, stepped back, and quickly disappeared into the crowd.

The adjutant dismounted and strode over to Ji Tian and Mia.

He stopped a few steps away, took off his helmet and tucked it into his arm, bowed slightly, his posture completely different from before.

"My lord, I am the adjutant of the third patrol of the Northern Knights. Please forgive my rudeness earlier. May I ask... was the giant serpent dealt with by you?"

Ji Tian nodded: "I did kill that snake."

The adjutant took a deep breath, bowed again, and spoke with solemnity:

"This is no small matter. This snake has been roaming the northern border for many days, and our captain and his men have been chasing it for almost half a month. I need to report to the commander as soon as possible. Please wait a moment, sir."
