The next morning, sunlight streamed through the paper windows, casting a soft glow on the tatami mats. When Yae no Miko pushed open the door and stepped out, her steps were lighter than usual, and her face was flushed with a healthy rosy glow.

When Yae no Miko reached the end of the corridor, she stopped, straightened her collar, and turned to Fanes, who was still sitting on the edge of the bed inside the door, rubbing his lower back, and said, "Little one, no, I should call you husband now."

Fanes sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing his aching lower back, his voice carrying a weariness that came with being thoroughly tested: "Divine Child, you... never mind, I won't say anything more."

Yae no Miko was still standing at the door: "Husband, please rest well here. I'll go prepare breakfast for you."

After speaking, Yae no Miko took a few steps forward along the corridor, paused at the corner, turned her head slightly, and nodded slightly to the approaching figure at the other end of the corridor.

Funina stood at the other end of the corridor, holding a teacup that was already half-cold. Her gaze moved from Yae no Miko's face to the half-open door behind her, and then back to Yae no Miko's face.

When Funina heard the word "husband," her fingers tightened slightly on the handle of the cup. "Husband? What did you call him?"

As Yae no Miko walked past her, his posture remained unchanged, and his voice, neither loud nor soft, carried on: "You'll know once you go in and see for yourself."

Funina stood there for a moment, then took the now-cold tea to the door and peeked through the crack.

Fanes was sitting on the edge of the bed, his shirt collar open and his hair slightly disheveled.

Funina's gaze lingered on his weary face for a moment, then she spoke: "Oh dear, husband, you're not doing well either. There's still Hu Tao, Ningguang, and Coral Palace Heart Sea to come—"

Fañez leaned against the headboard, reaching out to brush his bangs aside: "Don't make fun of me. This god is too wicked."

Funina, holding the glass of iced tea, leaned against the doorframe for a moment without going in, simply standing at a distance outside the threshold: "Then why did you say she was a pink-haired fox fairy? You didn't say that last night."

After thinking for a moment, Funina added, "But it's okay, she's preparing breakfast anyway, so you can get some rest now."

Breakfast was served in the center of the Japanese-style room facing the courtyard. On a low table were several small dishes, a bowl of hot soup, a plate of freshly grilled fish, and a dish of light-colored pickled vegetables. Next to them were three sets of bowls and chopsticks and a steaming teapot.

Yae no Miko sat at the head of the table, with Fanes on her left and Funina on her right. She sat down naturally, picked up the teapot, poured a cup for the person on her left, then for the person on her right, and then for herself.

Yae no Miko took a sip of tea, then put the cup down and turned her gaze to her left: "Husband, did you sleep well last night?"

Fanes reached for the plate of grilled fish in front of him, and when he heard the word "husband," his hand paused for a moment at the edge of the plate, but he quickly resumed his action: "It's alright."

Yae no Miko continued to look at him: "When you woke up this morning, did your lower back feel a little sore?"

Fanes put a piece of grilled fish into his own bowl: "A little."

Yae no Miko placed another piece of pickled vegetable on the rim of his bowl: "Eat more. It'll help you recover."

After making that gesture, Yae no Miko turned to the right and asked, "Fou-chan, how did you sleep last night? Did you hear any strange noises?"

Funina was sipping her soup when she heard the question. She put the bowl back on the table and said, "No. I slept very well last night."

Yae no Miko placed another piece of side dish on her plate: "That's good. I was worried you wouldn't sleep well because you're not used to sleeping in unfamiliar beds."

Funina looked down at the extra piece of food in her bowl, then looked up at Yae no Miko: "No. I slept very well."

Fanes held the bowl, took a sip of soup, then put the bowl down, looked at Yae no Miko, and then at Funina.

Then he bent down and used his chopsticks to stir the rice in the bowl, picked up a piece of grilled fish, chewed it a couple of times and swallowed it, then picked up another piece.

Yae no Miko's tea had already been refilled for the second time. She was holding the teacup and turned to look at Funina: "Funin-chan, what do you think of Inazuma's breakfast compared to Fontaine's?"

Funina was engrossed in eating the grilled fish in her bowl when she heard the question. She put down her chopsticks: "The flavor here is a bit milder, but the natural taste of the ingredients is well preserved. It's a little lighter than in Fontainebleau, so it's not greasy at all."

Yae no Miko nodded, then turned her head to the left: "Husband, what do you think?"

Fanes continued sipping his soup, head bowed. "It's quite good. Much better than the breakfasts back in Zhidong."

After he finished his soup, Yae no Miko poured him another bowl, her movements as natural as if she were doing something she had done many times before: "Eat more if you like. You used up a lot of energy last night anyway."

Fanes held the bowl of freshly added soup, as if using the pause in his hand to check if he needed to adjust his pace, before speaking: "What's the plan for this morning? I mean, besides breakfast."

Yae no Miko placed the teapot back on the center of the table, her tone still calm, as if she were checking and categorizing routine matters. Then she added, "You can go sit by the cherry blossom tree again this afternoon. The scenery there is the same as yesterday, only the light and the position of the clouds may have changed a bit, but the general outline is still there."

Funina put down her chopsticks, picked up the teacup on the table, took a sip, and then put the teacup back on the table: "We're going back this afternoon."

Yae no Miko turned her head to look at her: "So soon? Why not stay a few more days? It's a rare opportunity to come here, so why not take a good look at the scenery of Inazuma, try the local specialties, and rest well before leaving?"

Funina had already stood up: "No, I still have things to take care of in Fontaine."

Funina's voice carried a certainty, as if she were confirming the completeness of the information, "Besides, I originally just came to see the cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are indeed beautiful when they are in bloom, but I've already seen them."

Funina walked over to Fanes, picked up the bowl of soup he hadn't finished from the table and placed it on a tray, then turned to Yae no Miko: "Then we'll be going now."

Yae no Miko remained seated at the low table, opening and closing the lid of the teapot: "Sister Fufu, don't go! At least leave your husband here!"

Yae no Miko's voice was neither loud nor soft, carrying a calm tone that implied, "This is just a friendly suggestion." Funina, already at the door, turned her head and replied in her direction, "No."

Then Funina pushed open the door and went out, the hem of her dress lightly brushing against the threshold before quickly disappearing into the morning light at the end of the corridor.

Fanes also stood up, straightened the collar of his coat, and followed him to the door.

Yae no Miko remained seated at the table, holding her cup of hot tea, which had already been refilled three times, watching Fanes' retreating figure as he walked towards the door: "Let me know in advance next time you come, so I can prepare some other dishes."

Fanes paused at the doorway: "I'll let you know in advance next time I come."

Funina was already standing in the courtyard at the end of the corridor. The morning light was slowly sliding down the outline of the old pine tree beside her, casting a steady shadow between its branches and the ground, ending just a step away from her hand.

Little Black was perched on the base of the stone lantern beside her, cleaning the gaps between the scales on its front paws with its tongue. She saw Fanes approaching but didn't turn around: "You said goodbye to her?"

Fanes stood beside her: "Goodbye."

Funina turned her head to look at him: "If you come to Inazuma again next time, remember to tell me in advance, I want to come too."

Fanes said, "Okay. Next time I come, I'll let you know in advance so you can plan your time accordingly. There's no need to rush back."

The morning light was slowly moving upwards along the outline of the old pine tree. Funina was bending down to adjust the buttons on her coat. After she finished, she looked up and said, "Let's go then."

Funina picked up Little Black, who climbed up her arm a little further, finding a comfortable corner near Funina's shoulder, then curled up and closed his eyes.

Funina walked towards the courtyard gate, took a couple of steps, then turned to look at Fanes: "What are you still standing there for? Let's go."
