Genshin Impact: Watch me turn the tables and kill my servants at the start!

Chapter 53 The Heavenly Emperor's Special Martial Arts Arrives

Over the next few days, Fanes spent almost all his time testing his cheat codes.

Faenes sat on the steps at the entrance of the cave, holding a bowl of tea in his hand. Staring at the tea leaves floating in the bowl, he silently chanted in his heart, "Conjure up a cup of milk tea for me. Extra pearls, less sugar."

After waiting for a long time, his palm remained empty, and the tea leaves in the teacup still floated quietly. He changed his posture and squatted on the stone slab, concentrating on reciting mantras to the old pine tree in the corner.

"Conjure up a bow and arrow for me, so I can try to hit that pine needle on the treetop."

His thoughts raced through his mind, but his palms remained empty. Several wild cranes lazily flapped their wings and flew past overhead, their droppings nearly landing on his shoulder.

Fanes then ran up the hillside and focused his mind on the fish swimming in the stream, silently chanting, "Conjure up a fishing net for me. It doesn't need to be too big, just enough to catch these two."

The stream flowed gurglingly, and the fish leisurely swished their tails. Fanes squatted on the bank, staring until his legs went numb, but he didn't see a single flash of inspiration.

He decided to reach into the water to try and scoop something up with his bare hands, but he slipped and fell into the stream with a splash, swallowing a mouthful of cold water. As he struggled to get up, a dry towel fell out of his palm.

Fanes stood in the knee-deep stream, holding the towel, water still dripping from his head, his face saying, "I knew this would happen."

Back in his cave, he wrapped himself in the towel, huddled in a chair, and sneezed. Yakoda, running back from the archery range, saw him soaked to the bone and suppressed a laugh: "Boss, failed again?"

Fanes wiped his still-dripping hair: "It triggers 100% in critical moments, and the trigger probability is comparable to getting three gold coins in ten pulls under normal circumstances. I suspect that the power within me is intentional, waiting until I'm about to die before it moves."

Rubbing his nose, Fanes sneezed again. "Forget it, I won't force it. As long as the Queen lets me live, that's enough. If we really encounter danger, there will be a way."

He looked down at the Frost Nail in his hand—the blue-glowing spike had been lying quietly on the stone slab ever since he conjured it. Every time Fanes passed by it, he felt that it exuded an ominous aura that said, "I might explode in your hands at any moment."

After much thought, Fanes felt it was really unsafe to leave such a dangerous thing in the hands of a six-year-old child like himself. What if he rolled over in his sleep in the middle of the night and accidentally rolled over on it, or what if he mistakenly took it as a toothbrush in the morning? The consequences would be unimaginable.

So Phanes entrusted the Nail of Frost to Akoda for safekeeping.

When Yakoda took the crystal prism, her starry eyes shone brighter: "Don't worry, boss! I'll keep it safe! I definitely won't lose it!"

She found a piece of durable leather cord, wrapped the Frost Spike around it a few times, and hung it next to the quiver at her waist. The silver-blue crystal pendant swayed with her steps, giving her a more intimidating "keep away" look.

From that day on, Wendy never wandered around in front of Akoda again.

Fanes first noticed the change the following morning. He and Jakoda were having breakfast on the hillside when a dark green shadow suddenly flashed across the treetops of the distant pine forest. The shadow, which had been drifting towards them, stopped abruptly after catching sight of the swaying silver-blue prism at Jakoda's waist. Then, it turned back at three times the speed it had come from, disappearing into the mountains in a few leaps, without even letting the aroma of wine reach them.

Yakoda, munching on her roasted pheasant leg, looked up at the empty sky and asked, "Boss, did something just fly by?"

Fanes, chewing on some chicken meat, mumbled a reply: "I don't know. Maybe it was a chicken."

In the following days, Wendy's appearance frequency dropped sharply from "three times a day" to "occasionally peeking out from afar and then quickly disappearing".

Fanes noticed that he would wave to Fanes whenever he was far enough away, but as soon as Yakoda appeared in his field of vision, the green cloak would disappear behind the nearest cover at near-sonic speed.

Once, as they were passing through a thicket, the edge of Yakoda's quiver accidentally snagged on the rope of the Frost Spike, and the silver-blue ridged spike wobbled and struck the iron buckle of the quiver with a crisp clang.

A sharp gasp and a series of hurried footsteps came from deep within the bushes. When Fanes turned around, he only had time to see a dark green hem of clothing disappear behind a rock on the other side.

Phanes crouched at the edge of the bushes, reached out and parted the leaves to peek inside, but found nothing, only a lingering scent of dandelion wine in the air.

Yakoda also came over to take a look: "Boss, are there any animals around here?"

Fanes closed the bushes, stood up, and dusted his hands off. "It's probably a rabbit. Let's go, let's go back for lunch."

Yakoda said "Oh" and followed him a few steps. The Frost Nail at her waist swayed gently with her light steps, and the silver-blue light reflected a small halo of light in the midday sun.

Fañez glanced back at the bushes and vaguely saw the brim of a green hat trembling slightly behind the rocks in the distance, as if someone was crouching behind the rocks, clutching their heart and taking deep breaths.

Two days later, Liu Yun Jie Feng Zhenjun set up a wooden table on the stone platform to brew tea. Zhong Li sat upright on the stone bench, holding a cup of tea in his hand. Wendy squatted on a pine branch a long way away, looking down. After hesitating for the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, she finally flew down and sat down, choosing a seat at the farthest end from Yakoda.

After sitting down, his gaze kept drifting towards the silver-blue ridged rod at Yakoda's waist. When drinking tea, he raised the cup to his lips three times and then put it down again, like a squirrel ready to get up and run away at any moment.

Fanes watched this scene from across the tea table, took a sip of his tea, and then turned to Yakoda beside him: "Yakoda, take the nails off and put them on the table. Nobody's going to steal them."

Yakoda untied the leather cord and placed the Frost Nail on the corner of the table. Wendy's shoulders visibly slumped down by two inches, but his gaze still drifted over from time to time.

Seeing his "I don't trust this stuff" look, Fanes picked up his teacup to hide the corners of his mouth that he couldn't help but curl up.

Zhongli sat at the head of the table, holding a teacup. His amber eyes curved slightly, but he said nothing. Liu Yun Jie Feng Zhenjun poured tea for everyone present. As he sat down, his gaze swept over Wendy's face and then landed on the silver-blue ridge on the corner of Yakoda's table.

The atmosphere at the tea table that afternoon was much more relaxed than in the previous days. Although Wendy was still sitting half a table away from Akoda, he was at least more talkative and started talking about how good the dandelion liqueur was at a newly opened tavern in Mondstadt.

Yakoda listened quietly, occasionally interjecting with a question, "How does it compare to the gifts of angels?" Wendy thought seriously for a moment and replied, "Each has its own merits." Little Black squatted at Fanes' feet, playing with the icy nail with its paws, rolling it from the corner of the table to the edge, then to the side of the table leg. Wendy's entire face moved in sync with the nail's trajectory, and Fanes almost spat out his tea at the sight.

That evening, when Wendy flew away, Akoda chased after her and called out, "Lord Anemo, come play again next time!" Wendy's wings wobbled in mid-air, almost crashing into a pine tree. After regaining her balance, she replied from afar, "Next time for sure." Her voice carried a certainty that said, "Next time, I'll definitely make sure that nail isn't on you first."
