The purplish-black figure in the sky crashed straight down towards Lu Ze and the Great Black Tower on the ground.

It was so fast that even the air was torn apart with a sharp whistling sound.

Lu Ze didn't have time to think. He reached out and wrapped his arms around the slender waist of the big black tower beside him. He unleashed spiritual power under his feet and instantly moved dozens of meters to the side with her.

With a deafening roar, the dark figure slammed into the ground, creating a massive crater. Debris rained down in all directions, and the shockwave completely shattered several already crumbling sections of nearby walls.

Lu Ze landed in the safe zone at the edge of the giant pit, his arms still tightly wrapped around the waist of the big black tower.

Through the thin, silk-like fabric, he could clearly feel the delicate, elastic texture under his palm, as well as the cool body temperature emanating from her.

This made him momentarily dazed, and he unconsciously tightened his grip a little.

"Little guy, how long do you plan to keep holding him?" The icy voice of the Great Black Tower rang in his ears.

Lu Ze snapped out of his daze and hurriedly and reluctantly released his hands from around her waist.

"Ahem... Sorry! I couldn't help it. Hehe..." He chuckled awkwardly as he took a half-step to the side.

"Focus on the immediate crisis first, I'll settle the score with you later."

After saying this, the Great Black Tower turned and looked towards the center of the giant pit.

Upon hearing this, Lu Ze's smile instantly turned bitter.

Whether being noticed by this genius lady is a blessing or a curse is unknown.

However, now is not the time to let your mind wander.

As the smoke and dust cleared, a slender figure gradually emerged in the center of the giant pit.

The moment Lu Ze saw the figure clearly, his breath hitched slightly.

It was a strangely shaped humanoid monster, its entire body a semi-transparent, dark grayish-purple.

Her pale hair fell down her shoulders, and tiny particles of light constantly drifted from her body, as if countless fragments were peeling off from her.

A faint purplish-black mist swirled around him; his face was a smooth, black void, except for his eyes, which shone with a faint, shimmering light.

Two or three tattered, purplish-red fragments of thin fabric hung around him, floating slowly with the air currents.

"Black Tower, what kind of monster is that?" Lu Ze asked.

"Tsk... Your internet speed is really slow."

The big black tower didn't answer his question; instead, it clicked its tongue in disdain.

Her analytical skills depend on the speed at which her phone transmits data, but Lu Ze's phone clearly can't keep up with her brilliant mind.

The signal delay prevented her from receiving complete information instantly as she usually does.

The pair of purple eyes narrowed slightly, and he said in a low voice, "Right now, all we know is that this thing is called the Devouring Shadow. We'll need some more time to get the rest of the information."

She stared intently at the Devouring Shadow, a vague guess forming in her mind.

She was almost certain that the monster was another version of her own consciousness.

But she didn't say it aloud; without solid evidence, any speculation is just speculation.

Just as the two were talking, the Devouring Shadow moved.

Without warning, she appeared directly in front of the two of them as if she had teleported.

The face, as black as ink, was indistinct, but its eyes gleamed with a faint purple light.

Lu Ze and the Great Black Tower were both startled; this thing could also teleport.

Lu Ze subconsciously wanted to use the same trick again and reached out to hug the black tower next to him.

But the Great Black Tower gave him no more chances; a key-shaped staff appeared out of thin air in her hand.

The next second, she gracefully sat sideways on her staff, rising into the air, the hem of her witch outfit fluttering in the gray-white air currents.

Lu Ze's outstretched hand missed its target. He was stunned for a moment, then came to his senses and quickly retreated, putting distance between himself and the Devouring End Shadow.
