Chapter 319 The Monk in Robes Reappears

Just as the two were focused on clearing the monsters, another abnormal data stream silently climbed up the city wall.

These data coalesced into rows of monks in robes, densely packed atop the city wall, their cold gazes sweeping down upon the battlefield raging below.

The leader, a monk in red robes, brandished his long sword, and the monks fell from the city wall like raindrops, crashing silently to the ground.

Upon landing, they immediately stood up straight, their posture perfectly synchronized, as if each body were driven by the same will.

Lu Ze severed the body of the last red and black monster in front of him with a single sword strike, watching it dissipate into data fragments in the air before turning around.

His gaze passed over the dissipating data remnants around him and landed on the monks in robes who were gathering from all directions.

Their numbers are extremely large.

There were at least fifty or sixty people, and people on the city wall were still jumping down one after another.

Every monk was wearing the same gray robe, with their hoods hanging low, covering most of their faces so that their features were not visible.

Their steps were perfectly synchronized, and they held uniform, slender swords in their hands, the blades gleaming with a dull metallic sheen.

The leader was a monk dressed in red robes.

His red robes stood out among the greyish-white monks, and he held a longsword that was longer and wider than the others.

A dark red halo flowed across the blade.

Unlike the other monks, he did not jump off the city wall, but stood quietly on top of it.

Looking down at the battlefield below from his vantage point, he resembled a detached commander inspecting his troops.

Lu Ze's gaze swept over the monks, his brows furrowing slightly.

He recognized the outfit.

But the question is, why are they in the data space?

"Silver Wolf, there's a new enemy!" Lu Ze shouted.

In the distance, Silver Wolf was swinging her greatsword to cut the last few red and black monsters in half when she heard Lu Ze's voice and turned around to look.

When she saw the densely packed group of monks in their robes, she visibly paused.

"What is this?"

She frowned, a hint of doubt flashing in her gray eyes.

"The main god's defense mechanism doesn't look like this."

"You're asking me?" Lu Ze adjusted his sword grip and replied irritably, "You're the hacker, okay! This is your territory, you should know it better than me!"

Silver Wolf shouldered his greatsword and quickly approached Lu Ze.

"These things weren't created by me, nor are they the main god's defense system."

After a quick search, Silver Wolf confirmed it.

"These are... data streams injected from outside!"

She glanced down at the readings, her expression changing slightly:

"They're coming for us."

"To be precise, they're coming for me," Lu Ze said calmly, watching the approaching monks.

This was not the first time he had encountered these monks in robes.

Silver Wolf merely turned her head and glanced at him in surprise, without asking any further questions. She gripped the greatsword in her hand, took half a step back, and stood back to back with Lu Ze.

The surrounding Iron Tomb virus has been completely cleared.

The red and black data fragments floated scattered on the ground, like debris after a storm, no longer posing any threat.

According to the original plan, they should have already completed the theft of the main god's authority and were cleaning up the last traces in preparation for their departure.

But plans obviously can't keep up with changes.

Silver Wolf planted his greatsword on the ground, his gray eyes quickly scanning the positions of the monks in robes around him, and said in a low voice:

"I have good news and bad news."

"Let me tell you the good news first."

"The good news is that you have successfully acquired the authority of the main god and now have secondary administrator privileges."

"And the bad news?"

"The bad news is—" Silver Wolf gestured with his chin towards the approaching monks, "If we don't take care of these guys, we won't be able to safely exit this data space."

Lu Ze paused for a second, then gently exhaled.

"Let's finish this quickly!"
