Lu Ze paced anxiously back and forth outside the operating room, staring intently at the indicator light on the door that read "Operation in Progress."

His hands were clenched into fists, and his palms were covered in sweat.

Although the doctor said all his indicators were normal and explained that it was just a routine cesarean section, he still couldn't help feeling nervous.

But that door has been closed for almost an hour now, and I don't know what's going on inside.

Lu Ze felt that all the patience he had in his life was going to be used up on this day.

If he weren't afraid of disturbing the doctors' work, he would have really wanted to push open the operating room door and take a peek inside.

Just then—

A clear cry of a baby came from the operating room, reaching Lu Ze's ears clearly through the door.

Lu Ze stopped abruptly, and the heart that had been in his throat finally settled back into his stomach.

He didn't have to wait too long.

The operating room door was quickly pushed open, and the doctor came out first, taking off his mask with a smile of blessing on his face.

The nurses were busy behind them, preparing for Bonya and the baby to be moved to a different room.

Lu Ze hurried forward, looking nervously at the doctor. He opened his mouth, but for a moment he was too nervous to speak.

"Don't be nervous." Seeing his expression, the doctor smiled and raised his hand to press down on him, indicating that he should relax. "Mother and daughter are safe."

After hearing this, Lu Ze let out a long sigh of relief. As his tense nerves relaxed, he felt his legs go weak.

After leaning against the wall for several seconds to catch his breath, Lu Ze hurriedly thanked the doctor.

The doctor smiled understandingly, saying that it's understandable for a first-time father to be nervous.

After the nurses had taken care of everything and moved Bonya to a ward and settled her in, Lu Ze was allowed to visit her.

He pushed open the door to the ward and saw that Bangya was half-lying on the hospital bed, her face still a little pale, and the hair on her forehead was wet with sweat and stuck to her skin.

She seemed to be in good spirits, but she was still a bit weak.

"Wife."

Lu Ze quickly walked to the bedside, took her hand, and felt so heartbroken that he didn't know what to say.

"I'm fine."

Bonya smiled and patted Lu Ze's hand a few times to soothe her husband's anxious heart.

Her gaze didn't linger on Lu Ze's face for long before quickly shifting to the small cradle beside the bed.

"Please take a look at the child."

Bonya reached out and gently nudged Luze, signaling him not to neglect his daughter.

Lu Ze then followed her gaze and looked over.

Inside a tiny swaddle, a pink and tender baby lay peacefully.

The little one's eyes were not fully open yet, and his little mouth was slightly open and closed, as if he was getting used to this brand new world.

Lu Ze carefully reached out and lifted the tiny life out of the cradle.

Her body was so light that he dared not exert any force, for fear of accidentally hurting her.

He looked down at his daughter in his arms, a sense of responsibility he had never felt before welling up inside him.

This little life is his and Bonya's daughter.

She is the person he wants to cherish for the rest of his life.

Looking at her rosy little face, he suddenly had a flash of inspiration and said softly, "From now on, your name will be Lu Yao. Lu Yao, the Lu Yao who knows a horse's strength."

Lu Ze carried his daughter to the bedside and carefully placed her in Bangya's arms.

Bonya took the tiny swaddling clothes and looked down at the little person in her arms who resembled her somewhat. Her usually cool gray eyes were filled with an unprecedented tenderness.

She remained silent for a long time.

Then he raised his head and looked at Lu Ze.

"Aze, let's reopen the Gate of Truth!"
