The Secret of the Yoga Club: The Women's Identity is Not Simple
Chapter 135 I'm very expensive!
After graduating, she worked for a company and saved some money. Later, she gritted her teeth and opened this yoga studio. She grew it from a small studio to its current scale, which looks glamorous. However, half of the money she earned went into her father's bottomless pit.
"I did think about ignoring him. Last time he waited for me at the club entrance, knelt down in front of the members and begged me, saying that if I didn't give him money, they would cut off his hands. I gave it to him, and then I regretted it. He took the money, turned around and went back into the card room." She buried her face in her hands, her voice muffled, "But he's my dad. Even though my mom is like this now, no matter how much of a jerk he is, he's still my dad."
Lin Feng reached out and gently patted her back. Her back was very thin, and the outline of her shoulder blades was clearly visible through the thin fabric of her shirt.
Recalling the panicked look on Luo Ruoxi's face when she grabbed his arm in the club office and begged him not to quit, he thought she was making a mountain out of a molehill at the time, but now he understood.
Why are they so afraid of losing those three core clients? Without the membership fees from He Qianwen, Yang Ru, and Ye Qinghan, this club wouldn't last three months at all.
There was no way out for her; all she had was a mother lying in a hospital bed and a father who could never be satisfied.
"Let him stay in there for a while," Lin Feng said. "Let him reflect on his actions. If he's still the same after being released, next time it won't be as simple as just detention."
Luo Ruoxi looked up at him. "What about Director Ye..."
"Aunt Ye said she would take care of him. Don't worry, no one will bully him inside, but they won't let him have an easy time either. Gamblers like this need to be dealt with by the law; you can't handle them yourself."
Luo Ruoxi was silent for a moment, then nodded. Her shoulders visibly relaxed a little.
Lin Feng stood up and walked to the door of the master bedroom, gently pushing it open. The woman on the hospital bed had her eyes open; she was already awake.
Her hair was gray, and her skin was sallow and loose due to long-term chemotherapy, but the contours of her face were very similar to Luo Ruoxi's, and it was clear that she was a beautiful woman when she was young.
His eyes turned toward the doorway, and his gaze fell on Lin Feng.
"Hello, Auntie, I'm Ruoxi's friend." Lin Feng walked to the bedside, bent down slightly to make his voice clearer.
Luo's mother's fingers twitched outside the blanket, and Lin Feng reached out and gently grasped them. The skin on her fingers was as thin as paper, and he could feel the shape of the knuckles underneath.
"Ruoxi has suffered for too long." Mother Luo's voice was weak, pausing after every few words. "My illness has been a burden to her. If it weren't for me, she wouldn't have to work so hard. Are you her boyfriend?"
Lin Feng felt Luo Ruoxi pause behind him. He turned his head to look at her; her lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but Lin Feng had already turned back to hold Luo's mother's hand tightly and said "Yes."
Luo's mother's eyes brightened slightly, the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes crinkling together, and a very faint smile curved her lips. "Good, good. I'll be relieved if someone helps her from now on. She's endured so much alone for so many years, and it pains me the most as her mother. You must treat her well."
"Don't worry, Auntie, I will."
After coming out of the master bedroom, Luo Ruoxi leaned against the door frame and looked at Lin Feng with her arms crossed.
A slight smile finally appeared on her lips. "You pretended to be my boyfriend, and my mom actually believed it. You'll regret it later."
"What's there to regret? I've got several beautiful girlfriends; I've actually gained something."
Luo Ruoxi laughed and patted his arm, saying, "You're so cheeky."
Then I put on an apron and started cooking.
The kitchen was small; the two of them had to say "excuse me" just to turn around inside. Luo Ruoxi's knife skills were very proficient; she was much better at cutting vegetables than him, and she cut the potato shreds into thin and even pieces.
Lin Feng was washing vegetables and peeling garlic beside her, their shoulders occasionally brushing against each other. The range hood hummed, and after the oil in the pan heated up, she poured in the garlic slices, which sizzled and released a fragrant aroma.
Three dishes and a soup were served, all very ordinary home-style dishes: shredded pork with green peppers, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, broccoli with garlic, and seaweed and egg drop soup.
Luo Ruoxi first ladled out a bowl of soup and brought it into the master bedroom, then used a spoon to feed her mother a few sips.
When he returned, Lin Feng had already served two bowls of rice and set out chopsticks.
The two sat facing each other. It was completely dark outside the window, and the light from the streetlights shone through the window onto the floor.
After dinner, Lin Feng washed the dishes for her and mopped the living room floor. Luo Ruoxi leaned against the kitchen door frame watching him mop the floor and said, "You can even do housework? You're a rare breed."
Lin Feng wrung out the mop and leaned it against the wall, saying that there are plenty of men who can do housework; you're just unlucky and haven't met any. Luo Ruoxi said that was true; her father had never mopped the floor once in his life.
After tidying up, Lin Feng wiped his hands with a towel and said that he had called and asked, and that the affiliated hospital had a special tumor rehabilitation ward, which was much better than this place and had more professional nursing care.
He'll arrange for a transfer to another hospital later; don't worry about the costs, he'll handle that.
Luo Ruoxi was stunned. She asked him when he made the call. Lin Feng said he made it while washing dishes in the kitchen.
Luo Ruoxi turned around and looked at him, her apron still stained with water splashed from washing dishes.
Leaning against the kitchen doorframe with her arms crossed, the corners of her mouth finally held that familiar, enigmatic smile she always wore at the club. "Lin Feng, you're so nice to me—" she tilted her head, "You're not planning to keep me as a sugar daddy, are you? I'm very expensive."
Lin Feng chuckled. "Yeah, I was planning to take care of you. You're my boss, after all. If you hadn't hired me, I wouldn't know so many people. In the end, I should thank you." He paused, his tone becoming more serious. "So call me if you need anything, don't always carry it all alone."
Luo Ruoxi looked at him, her teasing expression slowly fading. She took off her apron and hung it behind the door, walked up to Lin Feng, and hugged him.
She wrapped her arms around his waist, pressed her face against his chest, and whispered, "Little brother, thank you. From now on, I'll be relying on you."
Just as she finished speaking and was about to let go, Lin Feng's hand wrapped around her waist, preventing her from moving away.
He lowered his head and pressed his lips to hers.
Luo Ruoxi's body stiffened visibly, her eyes widened, and her eyelashes brushed against his eyelids, making them itch.
The other person's lips were soft, but the response was clumsy, almost stiffly pressed against his lips without moving, and their teeth even gently tapped him.
Lin Feng wasn't in a hurry. He slowly took her lower lip into his mouth, patiently guiding her, while his fingers gently caressed her waist.
After a few seconds, Luo Ruo's body finally relaxed, her hand moved from Lin Feng's waist to the back of his neck, her fingers dug into his hair, and her lips began to respond clumsily.
Just then, the sound of a door opening came from upstairs, followed by footsteps coming down the stairs.
Luo Ruoxi recoiled abruptly as if burned, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. Her ears were so red they looked like they could bleed. She lowered her head and tucked her stray hair behind her ears.
Lin Feng smiled at her embarrassed look and said that Manager Luo's kissing skills needed improvement. Then he picked up his coat from the sofa and walked towards the door.
As he reached the door, he glanced back and saw that Luo Ruoxi was still standing there, her finger pressed against her lips, her expression unreadable, whether she was shy or something else.
