The Secret of the Yoga Club: The Women's Identity is Not Simple
Chapter 143 What gives you the right?
Hongjie has already arranged for Shuntong Logistics' parking lot to be located in an old industrial area in the west of the city.
Lin Feng and Kui Zi plan to come and take a look today.
When he arrived, it was just dawn. Kui Zi parked his black Volkswagen at the entrance and glanced at him in the rearview mirror. "Brother Lin, these guys are tough to deal with today. I heard that He Rui has been working in the trucking company for over ten years, and his dozen or so drivers all listen to him. He's been unhappy about Sister Hong's acquisition of Shuntong."
Lin Feng pushed open the car door. "I have to do it, even if it's unpleasant. The dragon doesn't tolerate idlers."
There were about twenty drivers scattered around in the parking lot, some leaning against the truck doors smoking, and others squatting on the ground drinking soy milk.
Seeing Lin Feng and Kui Zi approach, they lowered their voices, but no one stood up.
He Rui stood at the very front.
He was in his early forties, wearing a faded blue jumpsuit with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing his thick forearms. He had a square face, tanned skin, and a half-smoked cigarette dangling from his lips as he squinted at Lin Feng.
"You're the person in charge sent from headquarters?" He Rui threw his cigarette butt on the ground and stomped it out, looking Lin Feng up and down. "Looks about the same age as my son. You're barely grown up, how can you manage the convoy?"
Several drivers behind him laughed.
Kui Zi wanted to go up and teach him a lesson, but Lin Feng stopped him. He didn't say anything, took a folder from Kui Zi, and walked up to He Rui. "Captain He, let's call a meeting with the brothers first. There are some things that need to be clarified face to face."
"A meeting?" He Rui sneered. "Fine, let's have a meeting then. Brothers, come over here and hear what instructions this young Master Lin has to give."
The last few words were emphasized, and the three words "General Manager Kobayashi" came out of his mouth with an indescribable contempt.
The drivers slowly gathered around, standing in twos and threes in front of Lin Feng, none of them standing neatly.
Some people were still looking down at their phones, while others leaned against the car door, clearly not taking the young man seriously.
Lin Feng glanced at the people in front of him. Every face wore the same expression—resentment.
He opened the folder, his voice soft but steady. "My surname is Lin, and my name is Lin Feng. From now on, I'll be in charge of things at Shuntong Logistics. Today, I'll mainly discuss two things. First, the new salary scheme. Second, the new shift scheduling system."
"A raise?" someone shouted from the crowd. "How much?"
Lin Feng glanced at the man. "The basic salary remains unchanged, but a new performance-based bonus will be added. Each job will be scored based on mileage and type of goods, and settlements will be made at the end of the month based on these scores. The more jobs you do, the more bonus you'll earn. There's no upper limit."
A slight commotion arose in the crowd. Several younger drivers exchanged glances, and one of them whispered, "Sounds alright."
He Rui frowned slightly.
He crossed his arms and interjected in a voice that wasn't too loud, but not too soft. "Sounds alright? Sounds alright and actually getting it are two different things. You're all talk; what if you work a month and get paid less than you are now? Who are you going to complain to then?"
The commotion subsided immediately. The drivers glanced at He Rui, then at Lin Feng, but no one spoke.
Lin Feng looked at He Rui. "Captain He, you can say whatever you want to say."
"Alright, I'll get straight to the point." He Rui took two steps forward and stood in front of Lin Feng. He was half a head shorter than Lin Feng, but his presence was no less imposing. His voice was rough, carrying the husky tone of someone who had been out on the streets for years. "The one thing the brothers care about most is money. Can you put the performance bonus you mentioned in the contract? It has to be in black and white, so you don't go back on your word later."
"The contract will be signed next week. All the terms will be included."
"Next week?" He Rui scoffed. "By next week, it'll be too late. You need to give me a straight answer today. A 20% raise, or else—"
He paused, turned to look at the drivers behind him, and said, "Brothers, don't you agree?"
A few scattered voices echoed from the crowd.
Lin Feng closed the folder.
He knew this was the real topic of the day. Before the meeting, he had Kui Zi check and found that He Rui had worked in the trucking team for fifteen years, and half of the drivers under him were his fellow villagers or relatives.
Without his approval, the new system cannot be implemented.
"Twenty percent is impossible." Lin Feng's voice remained calm. "I've already reviewed the fleet's operating costs for the last quarter. Fuel consumption, maintenance, and insurance are all increasing, but freight rates aren't. If we raise salaries under these circumstances, the fleet won't last six months before it goes bankrupt. At that point, you won't even be getting your current wages."
The smile on He Rui's face slowly faded.
"But as I said, there's no upper limit." Lin Feng opened the folder, pulled out a form, and handed it over. "This is the detailed calculation method for the new performance evaluation scheme. I've calculated it. Based on the current order volume, a skilled driver who works a full month will earn at least 10% more in commission plus basic salary than they do now. Those who perform well could earn up to 30% more. Captain He, you can take a look for yourself."
He Rui took the form and glanced at it. His expression changed several times before he finally threw it on the ground. "Finished reading it. All that fancy stuff, I don't understand it. I'll just see if my salary has increased."
Lin Feng picked up the form without saying a word, staring at the accounts for a long time. "According to this..."
He Rui's expression changed instantly. "What did you say?"
"I said there's a problem with the accounts." Lin Feng pulled out a few more pages from the folder—freight records he'd asked Kui Zi to retrieve from the finance department. "This shows the fleet made a total of 210 trips last month, but based on mileage and fuel consumption, the actual number of trips was at least 20 fewer. Where did the extra fuel go?"
The parking lot was quiet.
He Rui's face went from red to white, then from white to green. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.
"And there's more," Lin Feng continued flipping through the pages, "There are several private freight shipments using Shuntong trucks and displaying Shuntong license plates, but not a single penny of the freight charges went into the company account. These three shipments alone total 12,000 yuan. Captain He, wouldn't this be considered misuse of company vehicles?"
Sweat beaded on He Rui's forehead. Of course he knew about these things, because he was the one who led them.
"You're spouting nonsense without any evidence—"
"Since I've said it, of course I have evidence." Lin Feng closed the folder and looked at He Rui. "Captain He, you've worked in the team for fifteen years. Even if you haven't made any great contributions, you've certainly put in a lot of hard work. So I don't plan to bring these matters up at the meeting today. But there's one condition—you resign voluntarily."
"On what grounds?"
