Ye Qinghan turned and walked towards the black Volkswagen, her pace much slower than when she came. Before opening the car door, she glanced back at Lin Feng, then got into the driver's seat and started the car.

The taillights of the black Volkswagen turned at the end of the alley and disappeared into the night.

Lin Feng sat on a rock next to a withered tree, waiting. The cold wind made the wound on the sole of his foot sting painfully.

He looked down at his feet; several small pebbles were embedded in the soles. He gritted his teeth and pried them out one by one, throwing them on the ground. A small patch of skin on the sole of his foot was peeling off, oozing blood, but it wasn't too serious.

Twenty minutes later, a Land Rover quietly drove up along the side road.

With most of the headlights off and only the parking lights on, the car looked like a black panther stealthily approaching in the pitch-black wasteland.

The car stopped next to the Santana. Shangguan Jinghong got out of the driver's seat, and Kui Zi got out of the passenger seat, carrying two large black woven bags.

Shangguan Jinghong was still wearing his signature black long-sleeved shirt, with the top button fastened.

A quick glance at the scene revealed Lin Feng, sitting on the ground covered in injuries, a skinny man lying in a pile of rubble with blood all over his head, and a Santana parked nearby.

Then he walked up to Lin Feng, squatted down, and looked at the injury on his foot. "Is it serious?"

"It's a superficial wound. It's nothing serious."

Shangguan Jinghong stared into his eyes for a moment, then stood up and said to Kui Zi, "Clean up the scene. Cover the bloodstains with soil, don't leave any trace."

Kui Zi responded and knelt down next to the skinny man to check him. He checked the man's breathing and carotid artery, confirming that he was no longer breathing.

Then they put the body into the largest woven bag, sealed it with cable ties, and dragged it to the trunk of the Santana.

Then he took out several folding shovels and a bucket of water from another woven bag, walked to the place where Lin Feng and the skinny man were fighting, shoveled up the blood-stained gravel and dirt and put them into another bag, and then washed the bloodstains on the ground with water.

After washing it, he shoveled a layer of clean soil on top and tamped it down with his feet. After doing all this, he walked around to make sure he hadn't missed anything.

Shangguan Jinghong stood next to Lin Feng, arms crossed, watching Kui Zi work.

After Kui Zi finished cleaning up the bloodstains, he turned to Lin Feng and said, "I know a minor official at the cemetery. He owes me a favor. Send the body to him tonight, go through the cremation process at the funeral home, and it'll be burned tonight. The ashes will be treated as unclaimed, and there won't be any record. He's done this kind of thing before."

He paused, glancing at the Santana, and continued, "As for this car, Kui knows a junkyard owner. We'll tow it over tonight and crush it into scrap metal. We'll grind off the chassis number, cut off the engine number, and by tomorrow morning, this car will just be a piece of metal."

Lin Feng took the phone out of his pocket and handed it to her. "This was found on him. The screen was locked, so I couldn't open it. There should be records of his communication with his superiors inside. He just took a few photos with the flash, but he hasn't had time to send them yet. The photos should be in his album."

Shangguan Jinghong took the phone, glanced at the screen, and nodded. "I'll handle it when I get back. I've done flashing ROMs before; cracking a screen lock is no big deal." She put the phone in her pocket, then gestured with her chin towards the Santana. "Kui Zi, drive the car away. You get in mine."

Kui Zi secured the woven bag containing the body in the trunk and then checked the undercarriage and surrounding area again to make sure nothing was left behind.

Then I got into the driver's seat of the Santana and started the car. The Santana's engine emitted a deep roar, the taillights lit up, and I slowly drove in another direction along the side road, quickly disappearing into the night.

Shangguan Jinghong opened the passenger door of the Land Rover and let Lin Feng get in, then went around to the driver's seat and started the car. The Land Rover turned around and drove back towards the city along the same road it had come from.

The car was quiet, with only the slight hum of the air conditioning vents. Shangguan Jinghong gripped the steering wheel with both hands, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.

Today, I wasn't wearing my signature dark red lipstick; my lips were a natural pale pink, and my pale profile looked particularly cold and aloof in the dim light of the watch face.

"Who took the photos secretly?" she asked, breaking the silence.

"It's not certain yet, but it's most likely one of Zuo Ning's people."

Shangguan Jinghong tapped his fingers lightly twice on the steering wheel. After a moment of silence, he spoke, "After this person disappeared, Zuo Ning definitely won't let it go. The person he sent to keep an eye on you suddenly vanished into thin air. Zuo Ning knows with his toes that it was you who did it. He'll definitely escalate his efforts, either by sending more people to watch you or by using an even more underhanded tactic."

Lin Feng leaned back in the passenger seat, pressing a tissue against the wound on the sole of his foot to stop the bleeding. "What other tricks can he have up his sleeve? The previous surprise inspection was suppressed by Ye Qinghan's side, the thugs he sent to cause trouble were driven back by Kui Zi, and now one of the people taking photos has been killed. I'm not afraid of him coming at me head-on, I'm just afraid he'll target the people around me."

The faint smile that used to grace Shangguan Jinghong's lips reappeared, barely a fleeting moment. "Don't worry about me. Security in Baijinhai is tighter than in a prison; Kui Zi and Brother Biao take turns watching over it. But you—from now on, take someone with you wherever you go, and don't go out alone like you did today."

The car pulled into the underground parking lot of Baijinhai. Shangguan Jinghong parked the car and turned off the engine, but did not immediately open the car door.

She turned to look at Lin Feng, the overhead light in the carriage casting a soft glow on her pale face.

"Are you sure you want me to see the contents of that phone myself?"

Lin Feng nodded. "There's a photo inside that shouldn't exist. Apart from that photo, nothing else matters."

"You seem to trust me quite a bit." Shangguan Jinghong smiled, opened the car door, and got out.

The two walked through the elevator shaft of the underground parking lot and went up to the fourth floor. The Baijinhai nightclub was at its liveliest, and the vibrations of the music coming from downstairs could be faintly heard even through several floors.

The corridor on the fourth floor was quiet. On both sides of the dark carpeted passageway were several locked offices and meeting rooms, with only the general manager's office at the end of the corridor lit up.

Shangguan Jinghong pushed open the office door, walked behind the desk, and took out a small toolbox from the drawer.

A set of mobile phone repair and chip-level soldering equipment, and several circuit boards that Lin Feng couldn't name.

He put the phone on the table and took out a laptop and a data cable from the drawer.

"When I used to run a mobile phone repair shop, I flashed at least a hundred phones." She plugged one end of the data cable into the computer and the other end into the phone's charging port.

A command-line window popped up on the computer screen, and her fingers flew across the keyboard as lines of code that Lin Feng couldn't understand scrolled across the screen.

His pale profile appeared exceptionally focused under the screen's light.

"Was this repair shop opened before your dad's accident?"

"Even earlier. When I was in high school, I built my own heat gun and helped my classmates replace screen protectors in my rented room. Back then, I charged a few dozen yuan per screen, and I could earn several hundred yuan a month for living expenses." She said while typing, her tone flat as if she were talking about someone else's story. "Later, my dad went to jail, and my mom's health deteriorated. This skill became my means of supporting myself. Before Bai Jinhai became successful, I made my first fortune by repairing mobile phones."

Lin Feng stood behind her, watching the "Unlock successful" message pop up on the screen.

Shangguan Jinghong unplugged the data cable and handed the phone to Lin Feng. "The password's been cracked. See for yourself."

Lin Feng took the phone and swiped the screen.

My phone's home screen is cluttered, with various app icons crammed together, and the wallpaper is a blurry photo of a beautiful woman.

I first opened the photo album, which was filled with photos, most of which had little to do with him.

Then he flipped to the latest one.

The photo was taken from a slightly rearward angle. The moonlight combined with the dim light from the car's interior reading light made it possible to see the outlines of two figures on the back seat of the black Volkswagen.

Although the image is somewhat dark due to the car window tinting and lighting, the outline of Ye Qinghan's profile and the body lines of Lin Feng are still recognizable.

The shot was taken in a rush, and the image is a bit crooked, but everything that needed to be captured was captured.

Lin Feng stared at the photo for a moment, then deleted it. He then opened the "Recently Deleted" folder to double-check, making sure the photo was completely gone from his phone.

I opened my contacts and scrolled through my call and text message history. The number I contacted most frequently was a number with the nickname "Master Ma," with whom I called almost every day.

The most recent time was this evening, when he and Ye Qinghan were at the hot spring resort.

"Who is this Master Ma?"
