The Secret of the Yoga Club: The Women's Identity is Not Simple
Chapter 197 Shen Qianqian has been kidnapped
During the first week of school, Lin Feng would spend the rest of his time visiting Shuntong Logistics in addition to attending classes.
Old Qian managed the fleet very well, but as the company expanded, a few experienced drivers alone couldn't support the structure of a proper enterprise.
Lin Feng hired a professional manager named Yonghu through a headhunting company. Yonghu was 32 years old and had previously worked as the operations director of a medium-sized logistics company in the provincial capital. He left the company because of disagreements with his boss.
On the day of the interview, Lin Feng asked him to meet him at the office next to the Shuntong Logistics parking lot.
Yonghu wore a dark blue Oxford shirt with the cuffs rolled up to his forearms, and silver-rimmed glasses. He spoke slowly and deliberately, but with great clarity.
He did his homework beforehand, taking stock of Shuntong Logistics' current number of vehicles, route distribution, and customer structure. After sitting down, he didn't rush to express his loyalty, but instead asked a question first.
"Mr. Lin, Shuntong is currently cooperating with Tianlong and has secured six intercity routes, so the fleet's capacity is nearing saturation. Further expansion would require either adding more vehicles or optimizing scheduling. Which route do you plan to take?"
Lin Feng leaned back in his chair and looked at him, not answering directly, but instead asking him which way he wanted to go.
Yonghu took a printed plan from his briefcase and placed it on the table, saying, "Let's take both paths. Adding more vehicles is necessary, but we can't do it blindly. The market for used vans is currently down, making it a good time to buy at rock-bottom prices."
Optimizing the dispatching is even more important. He looked at the fleet's recent dispatching records and found that the return empty load rate of several routes exceeded 50%. If they could connect with return freight sources, the profit margin per vehicle could be increased further.
The plan included a detailed return freight matching plan, which even marked the less-than-truckload (LTL) freight distribution centers in several surrounding prefecture-level cities.
After reviewing the proposal, Lin Feng immediately decided to hire him. After Yonghu joined the company, Qian's first action wasn't to implement sweeping reforms, but rather to spend a week working alongside the drivers.
He and Lao Qian made three long-distance trips from Hehai to Binzhou, and two short-distance delivery trips within the city with Xiao Liu, taking notes the whole way while sitting in the passenger seat.
After finishing the race, he gathered all the drivers in the break room for a meeting. His opening remarks were simple: "I don't know much about sports cars, but I know how to manage. Tell me all your difficulties today. If you can solve them, solve them on the spot. If you can't, I'll write them down and think of a solution."
Old Qian spearheaded a discussion, pointing out several issues: the calculation method for vehicle subsidies is unreasonable; the pay for long-distance and short-distance trips is roughly the same, so nobody wants to do long-distance trips. The vehicle repair approval process is too slow; if a car breaks down on the road, it can take half a day for the approval to be processed.
Yonghu wrote all of this down, and the next day he came up with a new reform plan.
The vehicle dispatch subsidy is calculated in tiers based on mileage and cargo type, with the long-distance subsidy being doubled; the authority to approve vehicle repairs has been delegated to the dispatch supervisor, and emergency repairs can be repaired first and reported later.
In addition, quarterly safety and fuel-saving awards are established, and drivers with no accidents throughout the year receive an extra month's salary at the end of the year.
When these policies were announced, the drivers in the break room were silent for a few seconds, and then Lao Qian led the applause.
Old Qian later told Lin Feng privately that this Manager Yong was a man of action, not the kind who just sat in an office drinking tea.
Longlin Group has also been undergoing a complete whitewashing process during this period. Shangguan Jinghong made this very clear at the regular meeting.
Zuo Ning's fate serves as a cautionary tale; once you get involved in gambling and drugs, there's no good ending.
From now on, all of Longlin's businesses will operate as a formal company, with financial audits conducted by an independent third-party organization. Anyone who engages in shady activities in private will be the first to be dealt with, without even waiting for the police to investigate.
Brother Biao closed all the card and mahjong parlors and converted the premises into franchised billiard halls. Kui Zi, on the other hand, incorporated his former underlings into Dragon Scale's security company, giving them uniform black work clothes, name tags, and monthly salaries and social security contributions.
A few people who were used to making money through shady means were not satisfied and muttered among themselves, wondering what kind of profit could be made this way. Kui Zi overheard them and immediately fired them.
Everything was almost on track when something went wrong on Friday night.
Lin Feng was about to go find Luo Ruoxi when his phone suddenly rang, and an unfamiliar number popped up on the screen.
He answered the phone, and a man's voice came through, deep and hoarse, like that of a heavy smoker who'd been smoking for decades. "Lin Feng, your girlfriend is in my hands. And your counselor, the one surnamed Zhou. They're both with me. I'm giving you half an hour to come alone to that construction site in the west of the city that's been shut down. Don't call the police, don't tell anyone. If I see anyone other than you at the entrance of the site, you can expect to be collecting their corpses." Before the call ended, Lin Feng heard Shen Qianqian's suppressed sobs in the background.
Lin Feng gripped his phone, his mind racing. Zuo Ning was already inside, but his forces couldn't have vanished overnight.
Some people fled before Zuo Ning's downfall, while others hid even deeper, waiting for an opportunity to take revenge.
He called Ye Qinghan and briefly explained the situation.
Ye Qinghan was silent for a few seconds on the other end of the phone, then said to immediately dispatch special police to surround the construction site. Lin Feng said no, the other side had clearly stated that they would kill the hostage if they saw anyone else.
He went first, letting Ye Qinghan approach quietly from the outside, but not into the construction site, and they would react accordingly later.
Bringing too many people might have the opposite effect...
Ye Qinghan's voice began to tremble as he said it was too dangerous; going in alone would be suicide. Lin Feng said there was no other way and told him to go and stabilize the situation first.
Ye Qinghan was silent for a moment, then said to keep the phone accessible and to contact him at any time.
Lin Feng put his phone in his pocket, hailed a taxi, and headed towards the west of the city.
Construction at that site in the west of the city has been halted for almost a year. The developer ran away after their funding dried up, leaving behind several half-built concrete frames standing on the overgrown vacant land.
The fence surrounding the construction site had several holes, and the security booth at the entrance was long gone. Only a searchlight that had been broken for a long time was still hanging on the iron frame, swaying slightly in the night wind.
On the second floor of the building furthest inside the construction site, the fat man was squatting on the ground eating instant noodles.
He was wearing a wrinkled black T-shirt, and the scar on his forehead from being hit by Zuo Ning with an ashtray had scabbed over, but the newly grown skin was a dark pink, which was particularly noticeable under the dim emergency lights.
Who would have thought that Boss Zuo would be arrested? The entire gang collapsed just like that, with some being arrested, some scattering, and some running away.
That day, he was also preparing to run away. He stuffed the last tens of thousands of yuan in cash he had at home into his bag and even bought a train ticket. But then he received a call from Uncle Kun.
