The Secret of the Yoga Club: The Women's Identity is Not Simple
Chapter 352 Seemingly There or Not
The people sent by Shuke Company arrived on the afternoon of the third day. Xiao Wang and Xiao Li from the business department, a man and a woman, were both capable young men under Lu Fei.
Xiao Wang, wearing black-rimmed glasses, was efficient and immediately pulled out a folder to check the information on Bailong tea as soon as he got out of the car; Xiao Li was sweet-talking and diligent, always addressing "General Manager Lin" and carrying several bags of samples brought by the company.
They drove all the way from Hehai, carrying a lot of things: several boxes of the company's own health supplements, cigarettes and alcohol for Uncle Zhang, and skincare gift boxes for Wang Fang.
The most space-consuming item was a large remote-controlled toy car that Lin Feng specifically asked him to buy; the packaging box was more than half a person tall.
When Xiao Wang carried the things into the pet store, Xiao Yu was lying on the floor playing ball with Dou Dou. When he saw the huge packaging box, his eyes widened, and he didn't even notice that the ball had rolled from his hand under the sofa.
Lin Feng squatted down, opened the packaging box, took out the remote control and the car, placed them on the ground, pressed a button on the remote control, and the car started running on the floor with its blue lights flashing.
Xiaoyu blushed with excitement, jumped off the sofa, and ran barefoot after the car, making "woo-woo" sounds.
After running several laps, he suddenly stopped, turned around, ran to Lin Feng, looked up at him with bright eyes, and struggled to squeeze out a few words: "Thank...thank you, Uncle!"
This time he spoke with more force and clarity than ever before, as if he were pushing out all the emotions that had been building up in his chest in one breath.
Raymond Lam squatted down, ruffled his hair, said "You're welcome," and then picked up the remote control to teach him how to operate it.
Xiao Yu held the remote control in his two little hands, which were still a little shaky. The car wobbled and lurched around the living room, bumping into the table legs several times, but he giggled every time he did so.
Wang Fang looked up from behind the counter and saw this scene, the rag in her hand frozen in mid-air.
Over the past few days, she has witnessed Xiaoyu's transformation firsthand. From hiding behind his mother when he first met Lin Feng, to later actively pulling on Lin Feng's sleeve to show him the puppy, and now being able to look Lin Feng in the eye and speak a complete sentence.
She lowered her head and continued wiping the counter, but she kept wiping the same spot back and forth for a long time without even noticing.
The thin layer of ice that I had erected in my heart for outsiders is silently melting away.
Over the next few days, following Lin Feng's instructions, Xiao Wang and Xiao Li began to conduct a detailed measurement and evaluation of the Bailong tea garden.
The acreage, annual yield, harvesting cycle, and processing procedures are all recorded clearly.
Lin Feng then asked Xiao Wang to find an unused storefront in town and buy it in the company's name to serve as a purchasing station and temporary storage room for Bailong tea in Qingxi Town.
The company has established procedures for site selection, price negotiation, and contract signing, which Xiao Wang and Xiao Li handled with ease.
Lin Feng rarely gets involved in specific matters. He spends most of his time at the pet store, playing with Xiao Yu's remote-controlled car, teasing Dou Dou and Hua Hua, and occasionally helping Wang Fang carry a few bags of dog food.
Once, Xiaoyu was playing with the remote control on the sofa when he accidentally got his remote-controlled car stuck under the cabinet. Lin Feng crawled on the floor to help him get the car out and casually ruffled his hair.
When he stood up, he casually slipped a few strands of the child's hair between his fingers into his shirt pocket, and no one noticed.
That evening, Lin Feng handed the collected hair follicle samples to Xiao Li, asking him to drive back to Hehai the next morning and deliver them directly to Wang Yue.
He told Wang Yue over the phone, "I have Xiao Li take something back to you. After you receive it, give it directly to Director Ye. She knows what to do."
"Understood. I'll personally deliver it to Director Ye; I won't go through company procedures." Wang Yue's voice came through the receiver, crisp and efficient. She paused, then lowered her voice and asked, "President Lin, how's the situation on your end? When will you be back?"
Lin Feng said, "I need to stay a few more days. There are still some things to take care of here. I asked her to keep an eye on things at the company and to contact me anytime if anything happens."
Wang Yue responded and added, "Ma Qingqing has been very proactive at work lately. The first batch of samples for the new product line has been sent to the testing center, and the report should be available next week."
Lin Feng smiled and said, "Tell her to keep going. I'll treat her to dinner when I get back."
Wang Yue chuckled softly on the other end of the line and said, "Then I'll be waiting." Then she hung up the phone.
Next, we just wait.
We await the DNA comparison results, the notification from Shen Ping, and irrefutable evidence to uncover the truth that has been buried for so many years.
During the waiting period, Lin Feng and Wang Fang's interactions became increasingly natural.
Every morning he would appear at the pet store door on time. Sometimes Xiaoyu would open the door, looking up at him with a smile; sometimes Wang Fang would open the door, holding a spatula, her apron covered in flour, and the aroma of fried eggs and rice porridge wafting from her.
She had gotten used to cooking for one more person, and every time Raymond Lam said "no need to trouble yourself," she would bring out her usual line, "You are a benefactor to our family," speaking with such confidence that it was his fault if Raymond Lam didn't come to her house for a free meal.
The initial polite gratitude gradually turned into a familiar warmth, and the guarded edges were quietly smoothed out.
During meals, she would also ask about her experiences outside. Lin Feng talked to her about the river views and bridges across the Yangtze River in Hehai City, about ships on the Yangtze River and summer rainstorms, about some of his own observations and experiences, and told her quite a few embarrassing stories.
When Wang Fang heard this, she covered her mouth with laughter and said, "When I first came to Qingxi, I fell down the first time I rode my bike to town to buy groceries, and all the eggs in my basket broke."
Her smile was completely different from when we first met; the fine lines around her eyes softened, and she appeared much gentler.
But she never talks about her past. Whenever the conversation inadvertently touches on Binzhou or her work with the government, she will naturally switch to other topics.
Lin Feng noticed these details, but never called them out. He knew that the trust needed time to settle, just like the color of the white dragon tea brewed, which gradually dissipated in the water.
Wang Fang dressed very casually at home.
In the sweltering summer, she often wore only a loose cotton-linen short-sleeved shirt and knee-length linen shorts, walking barefoot on the wooden floor with an old silver chain around her ankle.
Her skin was indeed beautiful, so fair that it was completely different from the dark-skinned women in the town who spent years in the tea gardens.
Once, she knelt down to tie Xiaoyu's shoelaces. The neckline of her short-sleeved shirt had slipped down a bit, and a large expanse of fair skin below her collarbone gleamed faintly in the morning light.
Lin Feng's gaze inadvertently fell on that spot, and she happened to look up. The two made eye contact for a moment, and her ears turned slightly pink. She lowered her head to continue tying Xiao Yu's shoelaces, her fingers moving a beat slower than usual.
On another occasion, Raymond Lam helped her carry several large bags of dog food that had just arrived into the storage room.
The bag was heavy, and the two of them carried it, one on each side, towards the storage room. When they entered, the doorway was too narrow, and the two of them squeezed together, their arms touching Lin Feng's arm through the thin cotton and linen fabric.
She instinctively dodged to the side, but lost her balance and nearly bumped into the shelf. Lin Feng reached out and steadied her by the waist.
The touch lasted only a few seconds, but his hand could feel the soft curve of her waist and her warm body temperature.
After regaining her balance, she bowed her head and said "thank you," her voice even softer than usual. She turned around to organize the shelves, a faint blush rising on the back of her neck and spreading all the way to her ears.
Lin Feng had been in the store for quite a while and noticed that the pet store's business was actually not very good.
The shop has seven or eight cats and dogs, most of which were stray cats and dogs in the town that Wang Fang took in and raised. The daily sales of cat food, dog food and pet supplies are limited.
But Wang Fang's life was not difficult. The clothes and toys she bought for Xiao Yu were all from good brands, and the equipment and medicines in the store were all from legitimate channels.
Lin Feng had checked the prices of the imported medicines Xiaoyu had taken last time on online pharmacies; a box cost several hundred yuan, and she bought at least two boxes every month.
He roughly guessed what had happened.
Over the years, someone in the Chen family must have been secretly sending her living expenses, perhaps to keep her quiet, or perhaps to prevent her from causing trouble when she was desperate.
As for whether this person is Chen Liangliang himself, and what his motive is, he cannot be sure yet.
But the fact that a woman could run a pet shop in town that didn't make much money, yet still live a relatively decent life with her child, is itself a hidden clue about the source of her funds.
