Shen Ping and Lin Feng entered the house.

The living room is spacious and decorated in the Chinese style that was popular a few years ago, with dark mahogany furniture paired with beige fabric sofas, and a panoramic landscape painting of Jiangbei Province hanging on the wall.

Most of the furniture has been rearranged; the sofa has been moved to the front of the French windows, and the dining table has been moved to the side closer to the kitchen. It's clear that the furniture was rearranged specifically to make Shen Wanyu more comfortable.

A woman in her fifties peeked out from the kitchen, her apron covered in flour. When she saw Shen Ping bringing guests in, she quickly wiped her hands on her apron.

"This is Sister Wu, she'll be in charge of cooking and daily management here from now on. Sister Wu, this is Lin Feng, Wan Yu's friend, he'll be coming often." Shen Ping gave a brief introduction, and Sister Wu greeted Lin Feng with a smile before turning back to the kitchen to get busy.

The villa has three floors in total. Shen Wanyu pulled Lin Feng's sleeve and eagerly showed him around. The first floor has a living room, dining room and kitchen, the second floor has Shen Ping's bedroom and study, and the entire third floor is Shen Wanyu's territory.

The room includes a master bedroom, a walk-in closet, a small art studio, and a semi-open-air rooftop terrace with anti-corrosion wood flooring. In the corner is a small outdoor swimming pool, the water shimmering with blue light in the afternoon sun.

On the rooftop, there were several potted plants, including pothos and monstera, that had just been transplanted. Water droplets still clung to their leaves, indicating that they had just been watered.

Shen Wanyu pointed to the swimming pool and said that they could swim on the rooftop in the summer. As she said this, she turned her head and glanced at Lin Feng, her bright eyes, framed by her bangs, filled with anticipation. Lin Feng stood on the edge of the rooftop, pretending to be focused on the scenery in the distance, silently reciting a calming mantra several times.

"Raymond Lam, let me show you my room. I specially printed out the photos and hung them above my bed. Come in and see if you like them."

Lin Feng wanted to say that it wasn't appropriate for him to go into a girl's bedroom, but Shen Wanyu didn't give him a chance to refuse and pulled him inside by his wrist.

The room was simply furnished with white walls, light gray sheets, and the desk was covered with postgraduate entrance exam review materials. Next to several thick law textbooks was a photo frame containing a picture of her with an orange cat in Kyoto.

Several succulents sat on the windowsill, their plump leaves shimmering a pale pink in the sunlight. But Lin Feng's gaze was drawn to an enlarged group photo on the wall above his bed; it was a picture of him and Shen Wanyu taken in front of the visitor center at the foot of Sanqing Mountain.

In the photo, Shen Wanyu stands to his left, her upper body slightly leaning towards him, her shoulder almost resting on his arm, her eyes crinkling into crescents as she smiles.

Her head was slightly tilted to his side, her entire weight leaning towards him—a very intimate, unconscious micro-movement. Lin Feng looked at the photo, his fingers unconsciously rubbing his nose.

"How is it? I asked Momo to develop this photo for me, and she enlarged it to hang above my bed. Look at your expression back then, you were smiling so blankly, but I look much better smiling than you. That day on Sanqing Mountain was the happiest day I've had in years. Before, I always went to the mountain alone, but that time you were with me, and the mountain path didn't seem so steep anymore. I still remember when you handed me lemonade in the pavilion and told me about your mother. I was thinking then, how can this person understand me so well?"

Lin Feng, a man who had been through countless romances, was perfectly aware of what Shen Wanyu's subtle body language meant. He had only exchanged a few heartfelt words on Mount Sanqing and helped her resolve her conflict with her father, yet this girl seemed to have her whole heart tied to him.

Just as he was about to find an excuse to leave, Shen Wanyu pulled him to sit down on the edge of the bed. He instinctively wanted to refuse, but said that it was inconvenient in the bedroom and that he should go downstairs to wait for dinner.

As it turned out, Shen Wanyu pulled his arm much harder than he expected, causing him to lose his balance and fall backward onto the bed. In a panic, he instinctively pulled her to steady himself, but Shen Wanyu simply lay on his chest, tightly hugging his waist, and letting out a triumphant giggle.

Lin Feng held his hands in the air, unsure of where to put them.

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind. If Shen Ping saw this, there would be no way to explain it.

In her heart, she was screaming, "Secretary Shen, come save me! Your precious daughter is being indecent!" But outwardly, she could only try to remain calm: "Shen Wanyu, get up first. This isn't right. Your father is downstairs; he could come up at any moment. Listen to me, relax, and let's talk this out."

"No. I just want to hug you for a while. You have a special comforting scent. When I was in Kyoto, I could only fall asleep by listening to your voice messages every day. And I remember everything you said, every single word. No one has ever said anything like that to me before, only you."

Hearing these words, Lin Feng felt a slight chord in his heart.

When he said those words to her in Kyoto, he only wanted to do what Shen Ping had asked him to do. He never expected that those words would leave such a deep impression on this girl's heart.

Just as I was about to say something, Shen Ping's strong voice suddenly came from downstairs: "Wanyu, Xiaolin, come down for dinner!"

Upon hearing this, Shen Wanyu pouted and reluctantly let go.

Before Lin Feng could react, she quickly kissed him on the cheek, her lips brushing against his skin with a soft, light touch. She then quickly pulled away, stood up, straightened the collar of her cotton shirt, and blinked. "I don't know why, but I just really want to be with you. Hearing you speak, looking at you, makes me feel so at ease. I've never felt this way before. Okay, let's go eat."

After saying that, she turned and walked towards the door. When she reached the door, she turned back to look at Lin Feng again. Her face had returned to that obedient girl look, as if nothing had happened.

Lin Feng rubbed his temples helplessly, sat up on the bed, and straightened the wrinkled collar of his shirt.

He was truly helpless against such an unpredictable and ruthless woman.

When we arrived at the restaurant, Aunt Liu had already set out the food.

Braised pork ribs, stewed mutton, garlic broccoli, and lotus root and pork rib soup – four dishes and one soup, all delicious and visually appealing.

As soon as Lin Feng sat down, Shen Wanyu started serving him food. Before he could even pick up his chopsticks, his bowl was piled high with food.

Shen Ping sat opposite, watching his daughter diligently serve food to Lin Feng. Then he looked down at his own bowl and saw that Wan Yu had given him a piece of chili pepper, which she had specially picked out from the braised pork ribs.

He sighed inwardly, silently picked up the chili pepper, put it in his mouth, and chewed it, thinking that the girl's treatment of Lin Feng was too different from her treatment of him.

Aunt Wu was pouring tea for everyone, and seeing this, she couldn't hide the smile on her face. She lowered her voice and said to Shen Ping, "Old Shen, this young man looks good, and he and Wanyu are quite a good match."

Shen Ping picked up his teacup, took a sip, and didn't reply.

Lin Feng found the meal extremely unpleasant. It wasn't that the food was bad, but rather that Shen Wanyu was constantly by his side, pouring him water and serving him food. Before he could even finish the food in his bowl, she would put several more pieces in his bowl.

After finally finishing the ribs, a large piece of mutton appeared in the bowl.

He glanced at her sideways; she was resting her chin on her hand, smiling as she watched him eat. Lin Feng said, "Eat some too, don't just put food on my plate." She smiled and nodded, but her chopsticks were already reaching for the plate of garlic broccoli.
