Lin Feng nodded. "So next week, Tianlong needs to send someone to contact BYD to clarify the cooperation model. We can start by discussing different levels of cooperation—the simplest being technology licensing, and the deepest being joint R&D and co-construction of production lines. How far we can go depends on their attitude. But there's one bottom line: the intellectual property rights of the core technologies must belong to the joint venture; it can't just be contract manufacturing."

The vice president in charge of legal affairs continued, "The equity structure of the joint venture also needs to be considered in advance. If BYD contributes its technology, how should we calculate our valuation? Tianlong contributes land, factory buildings, and existing production lines, while Shuke contributes its policy qualifications and cash. How should the equity ratio of the three parties be allocated? These things need to be determined in the early negotiation framework. We can't wait until the negotiations are over to start arguing."

Lin Feng glanced at him and said, "These need to be prepared in advance. We need to come up with several possible equity plans so that we can let the data speak for itself."

Vice President Zhang added, "There's another issue. If the production line expands to 5,000 units, the supporting supply chain system must also keep up. If core components like batteries and motors cannot be sourced locally, logistics costs will eat up a significant portion of the profits. This needs to be considered when choosing a location; ideally, it should be near a new energy vehicle industry cluster."

The meeting room fell silent for a moment. Lin Feng didn't rush to continue, waiting until everyone had looked away before speaking. "Everyone's questions are spot on. Technical cooperation, equity structure, and supply chain support are all key factors in whether this project succeeds. My idea is to break all these issues down into a specific task list next week, with Tianlong and Shuke each assigning one person to lead the effort, and we'll meet weekly to discuss progress."

He flipped to the last page of the PowerPoint presentation, which contained a few lines of general conclusions.

"The window of opportunity for the province's new energy policies won't last long. If we don't seize these few months, it will be much more costly to squeeze in once other companies have completed their production capacity layout. Tianlong has a manufacturing foundation, and Shuke has policy resources. Both companies have their strengths. This project will benefit both parties if we work together, and each will be limited if we work separately. I suggest we start it as soon as possible."

The meeting room was silent for a few seconds.

The CFO spoke first, "I agree."

Vice President Zhang nodded in agreement, "The logistics team will provide full cooperation."

The CTO adjusted his glasses. "As long as we can reach an agreement on the technology cooperation model, I'll oversee the manufacturing side."

The vice president in charge of legal affairs concluded by saying, "I will have the equity plan ready within next week."

Lin Feng put the tablet back from the screen. "Then this project is officially approved. Tianlong will send someone to contact BYD, and I'll have someone handle the policy approval procedures for Shuke. Each company will send a liaison to meet this week to finalize the division of labor and the schedule."

The sound of chairs being pushed back echoed across the conference table. Several directors stood up one after another, some talking in hushed tones, others carrying notebooks as they walked out.

Lin Feng stood next to the screen, put the tablet into his bag, and when he looked up, he saw that Vice President Zhang was still waiting at the door.

"Mr. Lin, how about I take the lead on that contact with BYD?"

"Okay." Lin Feng nodded. "Take one person from the technical department with you and find out all the possible scenarios for the cooperation model. Report back to me immediately after you're done, don't wait for the weekly meeting."

Vice President Zhang responded and turned to leave the conference room.

Lin Feng sat down and flipped through the document again, noting down a few key points. Then he took out his phone and checked the calendar. The project coordination would officially begin next week, and there was still a week to prepare.

He planned to take advantage of this free time to go to Yunnan. He hadn't been in touch with Zhou Mei for a while. She said on the phone that her belly was getting bigger and bigger and it was not very convenient for her to move around. Wang Yuqing and Xiao Yu had settled down there. The two women were taking care of each other and were living a relatively peaceful life.

The plan is to go for three days, departing on Friday and returning on Sunday.

I called Wang Yue and asked her to prepare some things and send them over by express delivery in advance. I also gave her some instructions about company matters and then hung up the phone.

The next morning, Lin Feng went to the company to sign several backlogged documents. He had just put down his pen when there was a knock on his office door.

Ouyang Qian pushed open the door and walked in, holding a folder in her hand. She stopped in front of the desk and said, "President Lin, the operational streamlining over the past few days is basically complete. I have already sent the job description and recruitment requirements for the project scheduling position to the HR department, and the procurement process plan has also been drafted. I'd like to show it to you first."

Today I wore a dark gray shirt, tied at the second button, and a black pencil skirt that just reached my knees. The shirt fabric wasn't thin, but the full curves of my chest stretched it taut, creating a striking contrast between the cinched waist and the outline of my chest when viewed from the side.

Lin Feng took the folder, flipped through a few pages, and nodded. "Very efficient. I don't think there are any problems with the procurement process plan; you can send it directly to the relevant departments for implementation. Have the HR department expedite the recruitment for the project scheduling position; it would be best to finalize it before the Mid-Autumn Festival."

He closed the folder and put it back on the desktop. "Also, there's been progress on the new energy side. Tianlong will be meeting with BYD next week to discuss cooperation. The two companies will jointly invest in building a new energy truck production base. From now on, Shuke's development focus will shift towards the manufacturing end, so you need to keep a close eye on the operations."

Ouyang Qian nodded. "Understood. I will adjust the subsequent operational framework in this direction."

Lin Feng glanced down at his watch. "My flight is this afternoon, I'm going out of the province, I'll be back in three days. Keep an eye on the company, call me if anything happens."

He stood up, picked up his coat from the back of the chair, and had just walked to Ouyang Qian's side when her voice came from behind him.

"Mr. Lin, there's something I'd like to ask you for a favor."

Lin Feng stopped and turned around to look at her.

Ouyang Qian's fingers clenched the edge of the folder for a moment, then released. "I had an appointment with the vice principal of the Experimental Primary School and Director Cheng of the Education Bureau for dinner regarding my daughter's school transfer, but we couldn't reach an agreement. They said that if I don't do as they say, my daughter won't be able to get into any primary school at Hohai University."

She spoke briefly, without mentioning what conditions Director Cheng had proposed, but Lin Feng noticed that her gaze lowered slightly as she spoke, and her fingers creased the edge of the folder.

"Experimental Primary School?" Lin Feng asked.

"Yes. But later I went to see Deputy Director Sun, and he said he couldn't handle it. Director Cheng's word is law in the Education Bureau. I couldn't do anything about it at the time, so..." She paused here, "This morning when I came to the company, I saw you and wanted to ask if you had any connections. If it really doesn't work, that's okay, I'll ask other schools."

Lin Feng draped his coat over his arm, took out his phone from his pocket, scrolled through his contacts, and dialed a number. The phone rang twice before being answered, and a middle-aged man's voice came from the other end.

"Mr. Lin? It's rare to receive a call from you."

"Mayor Wang, I have a small favor to ask you. Our company's new operations director's daughter's transfer to the Experimental Primary School is stuck. Could you perhaps put in a good word for her?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone. "Experimental Primary School? Okay, I'll have someone from the Education Bureau handle it. Give me the name, and I'll have my secretary take care of it."

"Ouyang Qian. Her daughter's surname is Lin, and her name is Lin Xiaoran."

"I've got it. It should be done by tomorrow. I'll have someone contact you later."

"Thank you, Mayor Wang. Mid-Autumn Festival is coming soon, and Secretary Shen will be visiting Hohai University in a few days. Let's get together then."

There was a chuckle on the other end of the phone, "Sure, sure. That's all for now, I have a meeting."

The call ended. Lin Feng put his phone back in his pocket and looked at Ouyang Qian. "Someone from the school should contact you tomorrow. Let me know if anything comes up."

Ouyang Qian stood there, opening her mouth as if to say something, but then swallowed the words back. She still clutched the folder in her hand, her fingertips tracing the paper a couple of times, before finally uttering only four words, "Thank you, President Lin."

Lin Feng had already reached the door. He turned his head and glanced at her. "Director Ouyang, if you have any problems, whether it's work or life, come to me. I have to catch a flight, so I'll be going now."

The door closed gently behind him. Ouyang Qian stood there, listening to the footsteps fading into the distance in the corridor, and stood there for a while before looking down at the folder in her hand.
