He pulled it out of his bag and glanced at the screen; it was a video call from Shen Ping. He answered, casually turning the camera towards Lin Feng, "Dad, we're at Happy Valley. Look who this is?"

Shen Ping's face appeared on the screen, with an office bookshelf in the background. He was wearing reading glasses and looking down at the camera.

Upon seeing Lin Feng, he chuckled, his voice coming through the receiver with the familiar warmth of a father, "Little Lin's here too? Why don't you look too well?"

"Uncle Shen," Lin Feng waved to the camera, "I just rode the roller coaster and the pendulum ride, and I'm recovering now. If I ride another one, I'll throw up."

Shen Ping laughed a few times. "Young people aren't as physically fit as this old guy. Last time I went hiking with my friends, they were all panting when we reached the top, but I could still go again."

"Then you must be in good health."

"You should exercise more," Shen Ping waved his hand, his tone casual but concerned. "Don't sit in the office all day, go to the gym occasionally. Wanyu has never liked sports, so don't just focus on work, go out for a walk sometimes. By the way, you two go have fun, I won't bother you anymore. Wanyu, remember to send Dad photos when you get back."

"Okay, Dad." Shen Wanyu turned the camera back to herself. "You too, don't stay in the study all day looking at documents. Auntie said you didn't go to sleep until eleven o'clock yesterday."

"Okay! Got it." Shen Ping said with a smile, then waved and hung up.

Shen Wanyu put her phone back in her bag, the ice cream stick leaving a small ring of water on the armrest of her chair. Shen Qianqian's plane was slowly descending, and her body gradually became clearer as the seat lowered.

"Let's go!" Lin Feng threw the popsicle stick into the trash can next to him, stood up, and patted his pants. "Don't mess things up now."

Shen Wanyu looked up at him, a flicker of something passing through her eyes for a moment, but she quickly suppressed it. She tossed the popsicle stick into the trash can, stood up, straightened her skirt, and her expression returned to its previous poised and elegant manner. "Don't worry, I said I wouldn't let you down, and I won't. But you owe me one request, don't forget."

Shen Qianqian jumped off the plane and jogged over, her forehead covered in sweat and her breath still ragged, but her face was full of smiles. "What are you two chatting about? I was so bored wandering around up there all by myself."

"My dad just called," Shen Wanyu said, pulling a wet wipe from her bag and handing it to her. "Qianqian, wipe your sweat first, your face is all sweaty."

Shen Qianqian took the wet wipe and wiped her forehead and nose, then looked up at Lin Feng. "Lin Feng, let's go ride the roller coaster after dinner, shall we? It was too fast just now, we didn't get to really enjoy it."

"Can I refuse?" Lin Feng asked with a wry smile.

"No, you can't!"

"Then... I'll risk my life to accompany you!"

……

The three of them strolled around the park for another hour.

Shen Qianqian dragged Lin Feng to play bumper cars twice. The first time, she turned the steering wheel properly, but the second time she started to deliberately bump into Shen Wanyu's car.

The rear of Shen Wanyu's car spun almost a full circle after being hit by her. She tilted to one side in the car, laughed, and shouted, "You wait!" After getting out, she chased after Shen Qianqian around the bumper car area for several meters before catching up. She pinched Shen Qianqian's waist, and Shen Qianqian laughed so hard she bent over.

We stopped along the way and took a lot of photos.

Shen Qianqian held up her phone, stretching her arm out to frame the three faces in the selfie camera. When she took the first picture, Shen Wanyu blinked, and Shen Qianqian said, "Let's do it again, let's do it again," and took several more pictures before she was satisfied.

One photo shows Shen Wanyu standing in the middle, with Lin Feng and Shen Qianqian on either side, and the outline of a Ferris wheel behind them. The midday sun shines through the spokes, casting dappled light and shadow on the three people's faces.

Shen Qianqian stared at the photo for several seconds, then nodded. "This one is nice, I want to get it printed."

As noon approached, the park became even more crowded, with the air filled with the sweet aroma of popcorn and the smoky smell of grilled sausages.

The three of them found a spot in the dining area, ordered two fried chicken sets and several drinks, and sat down under a parasol. Sunlight streamed in from the edge of the parasol, casting a clear line of light and shadow on the table. Shen Qianqian reached out and moved her plate further into the shade.

The fried chicken on the plate was still steaming, and a layer of fine water droplets condensed on the plastic cup. I stirred the ice cubes in the cup with a straw and glanced at the electronic screen on the pillar next to me, which was displaying the queue times for various items.

"The line for the haunted house is half an hour now." Shen Qianqian pulled the straw out of her mouth, turned to look at Shen Wanyu, and said, "Wanyu, do you want to go? I remember you said last time that you always wanted to try it but were too scared to go alone."

Shen Wanyu put down the fried chicken in her hand, wiped the crumbs from her fingertips with a tissue, hesitated for a moment, and said, "I'd like to, but I really don't dare to go alone." She turned to look at Lin Feng, blinked, and said, "Could I borrow your boyfriend for a bit? Just for a quick walk, he'll be right back."

Shen Qianqian smiled, glanced at Lin Feng, her eyes showing no wariness, only a hint of amusement. "Then you guys go ahead. My legs are a little sore, and I don't dare go in. I'll sit outside for a while." She patted the empty chair next to her. "Give me the bag, I'll watch it for you."

When Lin Feng stood up, Shen Qianqian leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. Her lips lingered on his skin for a second before she pulled away.

As he sat back down, Hou casually pushed Lin Feng's drink in front of him, saying, "Have a sip before you go."

A couple at the next table, who were drinking beverages, both looked up at the same time. The girl nudged the boy's arm with her elbow. The boy pushed up his sunglasses, his gaze shifting back and forth between the two girls before finally settling on Lin Feng. He smirked and pushed his sunglasses back up.

They seemed to be muttering something to themselves.

A dozen or so people were lined up at the entrance of the haunted house. Low-pitched sound effects and occasional screams came from the dimly lit passageway. The red light bulb above the door flickered on and off.

Lin Feng and Shen Wanyu were at the back of the line. In front of them was a couple who looked like college students. The girl was nestled in the boy's arms, and the boy had his arm around her shoulder. The girl kept muttering, "I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared." The boy said, "What are you afraid of? It's all fake."

"Are you scared?" Shen Wanyu asked Lin Feng, looking up at him.

What do you think?

"I don't think you're afraid." Shen Wanyu put her hands behind her back, leaned slightly towards him, and her shoulder brushed against his arm. "But don't walk too fast later, it's not easy for me to run in these shoes."

The two walked into the corridor, where the light suddenly dimmed, with only a few dim red emergency lights at their feet providing a faint illumination. The walls were painted with dark red paint, which looked like dried bloodstains under the red light. The temperature was several degrees lower than outside, and cold air from the air conditioner blew down from the vents overhead.

Lin Feng walked ahead, with Shen Wanyu following behind him. Her fingers loosely gripped his arm, but after a few steps, she tightened her grip, moving from clutching his sleeve to holding his wrist.

As we rounded the first bend, a staff member dressed in a tattered mascot costume suddenly lunged out from the side, his mask a distorted smiling face, and a low, hoarse growl emanating from his throat.

"It's fake," Lin Feng patted the back of her hand that was clasped on his chest, his voice sounding a little muffled in the narrow passageway, "It's just a person in disguise. Look, he's even wearing sneakers."

Shen Wanyu didn't let go. Her voice came from behind him, muffled, "I know it's fake, but it was really scary when he suddenly jumped out. Let me hold on for a little while, just a little while."
