The Secret of the Yoga Club: The Women's Identity is Not Simple

Chapter 82 Someone paid to teach him a lesson?

On the flight from Xiamen back to Hohai University, Shen Qianqian fell asleep leaning on Lin Feng's shoulder.

Her eyelashes drooped, her breathing was even, and her fingers were still loosely resting on the back of his hand.

As the plane began its descent through the clouds, Shen Qianqian rubbed her eyes and glanced out the window. The gray outline of Hehai City became increasingly clear beneath the clouds.

After leaving the airport, the students said goodbye in twos and threes. Song Yang and Fatty were going to the train station, as their families lived in other places.

Zhou Mei stood next to the bus and called out names. When she got to the last name, she folded up the list and put it in her pocket.

"Let me know you're home safely in the group chat. Be careful during the summer vacation." Her gaze lingered on Lin Feng for a moment; it was a brief look, but Lin Feng understood.

Then she turned and walked towards the parking lot to catch a long-distance bus to Qingyuan City. Her parents were waiting for her there; she had already arranged it with Lin Feng yesterday.

After walking a few steps, she glanced at Lin Feng sideways, then continued walking. Her figure in the light blue dress disappeared at the parking lot entrance.

Lin Feng escorted Shen Qianqian home.

In the taxi, she held his hand the whole time, her thumb gently tracing her name on the back of his hand. "You said you'd invite me to your house during summer vacation," she said, turning her head to look at him. "My house is fine too. My mom asked you about it last time."

"Okay. I'll make an appointment with you once I've arranged the tutoring class."

The car stopped at the entrance of the residential area, and Shen Qianqian tiptoed and kissed him on the corner of his mouth.

Her pearl-studded sandals pattered lightly on the cement floor. As she entered the gate, she turned back and waved to him before disappearing around the corner.

Lin Feng turned around and walked back.

It takes about half an hour by subway from his house to Shen Qianqian's house. After getting off the subway, you have to walk through an old alley.

The alley is narrow, with residential buildings belonging to the old factory area on both sides, and the walls are covered with ivy.

The evening sun was blocked by the buildings, making the alleyway cool and shady. Then he heard footsteps behind him, not just one person, but at least two or three.

I quickened my pace, and another person came out from around the corner of the alley ahead, carrying a baton.

Lin Feng stopped in his tracks. There were three people blocking the middle of the alley.

The leader was wearing a tight black T-shirt, with a tattoo showing on his neck, and was chewing gum.

"You're Raymond Lam?" He spat his chewing gum on the ground. "Someone paid us to teach them a lesson."

Lin Feng didn't say anything, took his backpack off his shoulder, and placed it against the wall. The man in the tight black T-shirt rushed up and punched him in the face.

I dodged to the side, then grabbed the other person's wrist and pulled him forward, kneeing him in the lower abdomen.

Having practiced yoga for several years, his core strength was much greater than that of the average person. With this knee strike, the other person groaned and bent over.

The second man's baton swept in from the side, striking Lin Feng's left arm. The blow to his bone sent waves of pain through him, but he didn't flinch.

He turned around, grabbed the baton, and yanked it towards him. The man staggered forward as he was pulled, and Lin Feng's right fist slammed into his nose.

Blood splattered, landing on Lin Feng's sleeve. A third person grabbed Lin Feng from behind and strangled him, but Lin Feng managed to break free by pushing back with his elbow against the other person's ribs.

The remaining two exchanged a glance and dragged their injured companion out of the alley. Lin Feng grabbed the tight-fitting black T-shirt that he had previously kneed and who was lying on the ground, and slammed it against the wall.

"Who sent you?"

The other person still had saliva from spitting out chewing gum at the corner of their mouth, and struggled twice but couldn't break free. Lin Feng's elbow was pressed against their collarbone.

"I'll talk, I'll talk! Brother Biao! Brother Biao sent us!"

"Who is Brother Biao?"

"He runs a mahjong parlor near the Xicheng Tile Market. He's the one who told us you often walk through this alley, so we've been staking it out for a few days, and today we just happened to be here to wait for you."

"Take me to see him."

The man in the tight black T-shirt shook his head repeatedly. "No! No! Brother Biao will kill me—"

Lin Feng pulled him off the wall.

The other man noticed a purplish-blue mark on his arm where he had been hit with the baton, but his grip on the man's arm remained firm. "Take me there. Now." His voice was flat, so flat that it sent a chill down the spine of the man in the tight black T-shirt.

The tile market is located in the western part of Hehai City, an old industrial area. The market had already closed for the evening; the roller shutters were down, and broken tiles and packaging tape were scattered on the ground.

The chess and card room is located on the first floor of an old building behind the market. There is no sign on the door, only a red light bulb hanging on it.

Pushing open the door, thick smoke billowed out, mahjong tiles clattered, and several tables of people were playing cards while smoking.

A tight black T-shirt led Lin Feng through the front hall, into the backyard, and up three metal stairs.

Two young men were squatting by the entrance on the third floor, cigarettes between their fingers. They stood up when they saw Lin Feng come up. "Brother Biao, the guy's here."

A man with a buzz cut leaned against a shabby sofa by the window, wearing a black tight-fitting vest, half of his arm revealing colorful tattoos, one arm around a heavily made-up girl, and a cigarette between his other fingers.

A row of empty beer bottles sat on the windowsill, and he squinted at Lin Feng through the swirling smoke.

"You're Lin Feng?" He flicked his cigarette ash, a smirk playing on his lips. "Those three didn't break your legs, and you came all this way to deliver it yourself?"

"Who paid for it?"

Brother Biao chuckled and patted the hand that was around the girl. "You're pretty cocky, kid. Coming to my turf to ask me questions? Damn it—" He leaned forward, "Are you tired of living? As for who's paying, we have our rules in this business."

Lin Feng looked at him. "My aunt is the deputy director of the Hehai City Public Security Bureau. Believe me or not, one phone call from me and your card room will have its sign torn down tomorrow."

Brother Biao paused for a second, then burst into laughter, followed by several young men squatting nearby. "Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau? Who the hell are you trying to fool? My brother-in-law is the deputy director of this local police station."

"You don't believe me?" Lin Feng said calmly.

Seeing his serious expression, Brother Biao was somewhat skeptical. "Kid, you'd better not try to fool me."

After saying that, he took out his phone and dialed a number. "Hey, brother-in-law, I have a question for you. What's the surname of the deputy director of your city bureau—" He looked up at Lin Feng.

"Ye Qinghan".

Brother Biao repeated the name to the person on the other end of the phone, and then his smile slowly faded.

After a few words were spoken on the other end of the phone, his crooked smile returned to a straight one. He hung up, looked at Lin Feng, and tapped his fingers twice on the sofa armrest.

"Ye Qinghan does exist. But you said she's your aunt—" He stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, "How am I supposed to know you two really know each other?"

Lin Feng took out his phone, scrolled through his contacts, and turned the screen to show him. Ye Qinghan's name and phone number were displayed. "Should I call her and have her talk to you herself? But let me warn you, she hates thugs who bully students. Three thugs ambushed her daughter in an alley last time, and they're still in jail."

Brother Biao stared at his phone screen for a few seconds, then stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray. He had heard about the incident, but he certainly didn't dare go to Hohai University.

Thinking of this, he stood up and waved to the door. "Get out, all of you." The young men looked at each other, put away their weapons, and left.

He loosened his grip on the girl, and she tactfully stood up and went to another room.

Brother Biao walked up to Lin Feng and sized him up. Then he opened a drawer in the coffee table, took out a can of Coke, popped it open, and placed it in front of Lin Feng.

"Young man, please have a seat."

In the next half hour, Brother Biao's attitude made a complete 180-degree turn.

He said the deal wasn't finalized yet; he had only taken the job, and the workers he sent out were all sent back, so he didn't really hurt anyone.

He also said that he hadn't thought things through and hadn't checked the other party's background before accepting the job. Lin Feng didn't drink that can of Coke.

He said that this matter would end there, but on one condition: he was not allowed to interfere in his life.

"Okay." Brother Biao took out a cigarette from the cigarette pack and handed it to Lin Feng, but Lin Feng didn't take it.

He put the cigarette in his mouth and flicked the lighter. "Brother Lin, you're injured, so I owe you a favor this time. If you need anything in Xicheng in the future, just let me know."

Lin Feng remained silent, and the other party, knowing his purpose, then said, "The person who provided the money is surnamed Fu."

Lin Feng stopped in his tracks.

"I can't say more," Brother Biao exhaled a puff of smoke, "You'd better watch yourself."

Fu Yongwei?

Lin Feng guessed it immediately, pushed open the metal door and went downstairs.
