It rang twice before being answered.

"Sister Hong, I just heard some very important news. Are you available now?"

There was a moment or two of silence on the other end of the phone. "Where are you? I'll come pick you up." The voice was still cold, but there wasn't a single additional question.

Lin Feng gave the location of the entrance to the residential area and hung up the phone. After waiting for about twenty minutes under the streetlights at the entrance, a stretched Land Rover silently rolled over and stopped on the side of the road.

The car window rolled down, revealing Hongjie's pale face in the driver's seat. She was still wearing that black long-sleeved shirt, buttoned all the way up.

She tilted her head slightly, gesturing for him to get in the car.

Lin Feng opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat. There was a faint smell of leather and cool air in the car.

Hongjie stepped on the gas, and the Land Rover drove along the main road out of the city. No one spoke.

The car drove away from the city center and turned onto a winding mountain road. The streetlights became increasingly sparse, until finally only the headlights illuminated a small section of the winding asphalt road ahead.

There was a viewing platform halfway up the mountain. Hongjie parked the car, opened the car door, and walked to the guardrail.

The night wind blew her long black hair behind her as she lit a cigarette in the wind, the flame of the lighter flickering in the darkness.

Then he handed the cigarette pack to Lin Feng, who waved his hand. "No."

Hongjie had a cigarette in her mouth, her hands resting on the railing, looking down at the myriad lights of Hehai City below. "What's up so late?" Her voice sounded even colder in the night wind.

"The provincial anti-gang task force will be entering Hehai City next week," Lin Feng said, standing next to her. "The municipal public security bureau may take action soon. You should take everything you need to shut down from your card rooms and KTVs."

Hongjie stopped the cigarette between her fingers at her lips.

The cigarette ash was scattered by the wind and disappeared into the night. Turning her head to look at Lin Feng, her pupils beneath her single eyelids gleamed with a dim light under the distant city lights.

She stubbed out her cigarette on the railing. "You called me out in the middle of the night to tell me such important news." She threw the cigarette butt into the nearby trash can, put her hands behind her back, turned to face him, and said, "Tell me. What do you want?"

Lin Feng shook his head. "I haven't thought about it yet. Let's just consider it information sharing between partners."

Hongjie looked at him.

The night wind blew up from the valley, causing her shirt collar to open slightly, revealing a small section of pale skin below her neck.

"You can come to me if you need anything in the future." She paused, "Including that."

Lin Feng knew what she meant.

I leaned against the railing. A mountain breeze blew by, carrying the scent of pine trees and earth.

Looking at her, bundled up tightly in black, he suddenly said, "Is the inheritance your father left you really that important?"

Hongjie remained silent for a long time.

She turned around and faced the valley again. The city lights shattered into golden specks in her pupils. When she spoke, her voice was much lower than before.

"There are some things I didn't tell you last time. Have you heard of the Utopia Gang?" Lin Feng shook his head.

"The biggest gang in Hehai City used to be." Her voice was soft in the night breeze. "Later, they gradually went legal, and the old gang leader divided up all the territories. My dad had some reputation in the gang, so he got this area in the west of the city." She said, "There were peaceful years. Then the old gang leader's son, Zuo Ning, came back from abroad and announced that he wanted to reunite all the territories. Many people disagreed, and a lot of things happened. Shootings, underhanded tactics, framing, everything. My dad was framed and went to jail. Five years later, many territories had been swallowed up. All that was left for me was Baijinhai. The card room was something I slowly bought back, one place at a time, after I took over. I could only pick the leftover, inconspicuous little places so as not to attract attention."

She turned to face Lin Feng. "I must protect the last bit of business my father left me. If there's a chance—I also want to get back what was swallowed up. Although I know the chances are slim. But now you've appeared."

"Does Zuo Ning have a powerful background?"

"He's close to the mayor's eldest son; that's his biggest advantage. In Hohai City, that's the pinnacle of power." She leaned against the railing as she spoke. "That's what I mean—I need a powerful backer. Otherwise, I'll always be eating scraps that others don't want."

Lin Feng looked at her profile.

The mountain wind picked up again, and her black hair fluttered in the wind. Her pale face remained expressionless, as if she were talking about someone else's affairs.

Looking at her always completely covered in black, a thought suddenly popped into his head. He stood up and walked up to her, his tone slightly joking and relaxed.

"You've been dressed like this ever since I first met you. I'm actually quite curious—what's your figure like?"

Hongjie looked at him.

The night wind blew across the viewing platform, rustling the pine trees along the roadside. Without hesitation, she raised both hands to her sides and found the hidden zipper pull at her waist.

The black robe parted in the middle and slid down silently to pile at his feet. Without pausing, he reached out and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt, then proceeded to unbutton all the rest.

The black long-sleeved shirt slipped off her shoulders and fell onto the robe at her feet. The mountain wind blew against her bare skin, and the skin below her collarbone appeared almost translucent white in the headlights of the car.

Her waist was extremely thin, tapering dramatically from the lower edge of her chest to her hips. Her ribs were faintly visible beneath her skin, and her hips protruded slightly.

Standing in the night, his skin was so white it seemed to reflect light.

Lin Feng's gaze moved from her chest to her waist, and then back to her eyes.

She turned her head away and coughed softly. "I thought you had clothes underneath. You—put them on first." Her voice was a little dry.

Sister Hong watched his embarrassed expression as he turned his head away. The cold expression on her face finally softened. The corners of her mouth curved up, a small and slight smile, but it was genuine.

She bent down to pick up her robe and shirt and put them back on, her fingers slowly buttoning them. "How is it? Satisfied? I'm still a virgin. You can come and get them anytime you want." Her voice returned to its usual coldness, but there was a hint of barely perceptible teasing in her tone.

"You trust me that much? Aren't you afraid I'm the kind of person who sleeps with you and then runs away?"

"I trust my intuition; you're not that kind of man." He fastened the last button and pulled his long hair out from his collar.

The wind blew by, and her black hair fluttered in the breeze. "And... even if you are—just pretend my intuition is wrong."
