Stepdaughter of a wealthy family? The little darling of a Beijing tycoon

"Confirmed! Please have the police officers come as soon as possible!"

"Okay, keep the phone line open. We'll arrange for officers from the nearest police station to be dispatched immediately. They should arrive in about ten minutes."

After hanging up the phone, the live stream chat exploded with excitement:

[This young lady is so brave! She actually called the police!]

[The streamer is too confident, waiting for the victim to be caught red-handed!]

[Waiting for the pervert to be caught! Let's see who's so disgusting!]

Will the dorm supervisor know about this? It's terrifying that something like this happened in a girls' dormitory.

Just twenty minutes later, the clear sound of police sirens rang out downstairs, breaking the tranquility of the campus.

Two uniformed police officers strode into the girls' dormitory building. The dormitory supervisor, who was guarding the entrance, immediately changed her expression upon seeing them and rushed forward to stop them, her face full of surprise: "Officers, what brings you here? You can't just walk into the girls' dormitory like that!"

"We received a report from female students in this building that multiple dorm rooms had been burglarized. We need to find the person who reported the theft to understand the situation and handle the case."

The police officer spoke sternly, showing his identification, "We must respond to any calls; that's the rule. Please cooperate."

The dormitory supervisor's eyes flickered, and she tried to continue to stop him, but the police officer said no more and went directly to the floor where Xiao Wang was located according to the dormitory number provided by the person who reported the incident. The viewers in the live broadcast room also became tense, waiting to see how Shen Jingshu would catch the thief hiding in the girls' dormitory.

The moment the police sirens sounded downstairs, the four students in Xiao Wang's dormitory knew that the police had arrived.

The sirens grew closer, and two police officers, a man and a woman, quickly walked up to the third floor.

Upon learning that the police needed to dispatch officers to the girls' dormitory, the station specially arranged for a female officer to accompany them to avoid any inconvenience.

As soon as the footsteps reached the third floor, the previously closed dormitory doors were pushed open one after another. Female college students from each dormitory poked their heads out, looking in this direction with curiosity and trepidation. Whispers rose and fell, all wanting to know what serious thing had happened in this girls' dormitory building that had alarmed the police.

The two police officers walked straight to the door of Xiao Wang's dormitory. Xiao Wang and his three friends quickly got up and carefully invited the police officers into the room.

Upon entering, the policewoman looked at the four girls with a gentle gaze and asked directly, "Excuse me, which one of you is Xiao Wang?"

[At this point, I hope readers will remember our domain name 1110 ...

Xiao Wang immediately stepped forward, his voice tinged with nervousness: "Officer, it's me, I'm the one who called the police."

"Please describe the details of the incident when you called the police." The policewoman took out her notebook, ready to take notes.

"It's our dorm room, and several other dorm rooms in this building. They've all been burglarized recently. It's not valuables that's stolen, it's all girls' underwear, some of which we just took off and haven't had time to wash yet," Xiao Wang said truthfully.

At this moment, Xiao Wang did not hang up the live stream at all, and her words were clearly transmitted to the live stream room, causing an instant uproar among netizens, with the chat screen flooded with comments:

[My God, stealing clothes that haven't even been washed? This person must be a psychopath!]

This is absolutely disgusting! Who on earth could do something like this?!

[We're waiting for a follow-up; this pervert must be brought to justice!]

After listening, the police officers exchanged a glance, and the male officer immediately asked, "You said in your previous call that you already knew who the thief was?"

"Yes!" Xiao Wang nodded vigorously.

Before the police came upstairs, Xiao Wang had already put on her earphones so that only she could hear the sound of the live broadcast.

Just then, Shen Jingshu's calm voice came clearly through the earpiece: "The thief is the dormitory manager of this building. Take the police to the dormitory manager's rest room now. Under her bed, you can find a batch of clothes that were just stolen. They haven't had time to be resold yet, but most of the clothes that were stolen before have already been sold by her."

"What?!"

Upon hearing that some of her and her roommates' underwear had already been sold, Xiao Wang couldn't help but exclaim in shock, her face filled with astonishment and anger.

Upon seeing this, the two police officers immediately frowned. The male officer asked in a deep voice, "Who are you talking to? Are you on the phone?"

Xiao Wang snapped out of his daze, made no attempt to hide anything, and immediately turned his phone screen towards the two police officers. In the live broadcast room, Shen Jingshu was sitting upright in front of the camera, the image clearly visible.

"I was watching a live stream where a streamer specializing in metaphysics was doing some calculations for us. She figured out the thief's identity and even where the stolen goods were hidden."

"Live-streaming fortune telling?"

The two police officers were stunned for a moment, then looked at each other, their eyes revealing their disapproval.

The male police officer's expression turned serious, and he said to Xiao Wang earnestly, "Young man, you are also a college student who has received higher education. How can you believe in these feudal superstitions? When we, the police, handle cases, we emphasize the chain of evidence and factual basis, not so-called fortune telling and divination. Without solid evidence, we cannot arbitrarily search or accuse others."

Looking at the serious-faced policeman, Xiao Wang said anxiously and aggrievedly, "Officer, we really lost a lot of things. It wasn't just our dorm room; several rooms next door and upstairs were also burglarized. It was all our underwear!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the girls who had gathered at the entrance of the corridor to watch the commotion immediately chimed in, chattering away:

"Yes, officer! Our dorm room is gone too!"

"I lost several items; at first I thought I had misplaced them!"

"This is disgusting! We still can't find out who did it!"

The noise of people filled the air, and the scene suddenly became lively.

The male police officer raised his hand to urge the officers to quiet down, and said in a deep voice to maintain order: "Everyone, please be quiet! Since you've called the police, we will definitely investigate thoroughly. Now, everyone, please come over in turn to give your statements."

After saying that, he gave the policewoman next to him a wink, signaling her to stay and question Xiao Wang and the others separately.

The dormitory supervisor, who was following her upstairs, already looked uneasy.

She felt both panicked and angry, secretly cursing the students for making a mountain out of a molehill. They were just a few cheap clothes; they could just buy new ones. Why bother the police?

She immediately put on a stern face and began to berate Xiao Wang and the others: "Are you girls too idle? Calling the police for such a trivial matter, isn't that a waste of police resources? You're so insensible!"

"Please go out first."

The policewoman immediately interrupted her, her tone calm and authoritative, "You're the dormitory manager, right? We need to question the person who filed the report privately. Unauthorized personnel, please leave."

The dormitory supervisor's face stiffened. She glanced at the room reluctantly and had no choice but to leave the dormitory room dejectedly.

The policewoman closed the door behind her, shutting out the noise from outside.

Only the policewoman and four girls remained inside, and the atmosphere quieted down.

The policewoman looked at them: "Now you can speak. You said you had a suspect, who is it?"

Just now, because of the presence of outsiders, Xiao Wang didn't dare to speak directly. At this moment, Shen Jingshu's clear and steady voice came through the earphone:

"Tell this policewoman that the person you suspect is the dormitory supervisor. The stolen goods are under the bed in her duty room; they're a batch that hasn't been sold yet, and that's the evidence."

Xiao Wang composed himself and relayed the information to the policewoman verbatim: "Officer, we suspect... it was the dormitory supervisor who did it. And we know the evidence is hidden under her bed."

Upon hearing this, the policewoman looked on with suspicion: "Are you sure? The dormitory supervisor seems very kind; how could she do something like this?"

Not only was the policewoman puzzled, but Xiao Wang himself was also filled with disbelief.

The dormitory supervisor was usually kind and approachable, taking care of them like an elder. She would greet them with a smile when she entered and left the dormitory. No one would have thought that such a seemingly simple and kind elder would secretly steal the girls' personal clothing.
