As soon as the changing of the guard at the Fifth Academy's main gate was completed in the early morning, Vasily entered the office building with two Soviet assistants, each of the three carrying a sealed document.

The document had a thick, hard cover, with Russian serial numbers printed on the spine, and the seal bore the double stamps of the Soviet Technical Committee and the Computing Bureau.

Qian Xuesen received them in a small conference room, and Ren Xinmin, Jiang Ming, and several engineers from the overall team arrived later.

Vasily had his assistant place the three volumes of documents side by side on the long table, and then personally opened the outer handover letter.

"The Soviet side still cherishes the friendship between the two sides. This is a complete technology package for the next generation of missiles, covering guidance computers, inertial platform interfaces and flight procedure design."

As the translator relayed the information, the Soviet assistant had already opened the catalog.

The document is far larger than the previously delivered individual materials; the guidance logic architecture alone occupies an entire volume, and the attached figures extend to hundreds of pages.

Vasily continued, "Technology of this level must be used under unified supervision. Subsequent Chinese experiments need to be jointly controlled by Soviet experts, and key data should also be made available to the technical committee."

Joint control means that the Soviet Union has re-entered the parameter entry point, and it also means that the independent framework that China has just obtained may be subject to new restrictions.

Qian Xuesen neither accepted the terms on the spot nor refused to accept the materials.

"The technical documents will first undergo engineering feasibility testing. After the testing results are available, we will then discuss how to use them."

He instructed the recorder to write down that the document was pending verification and that no page should be directly included in the overall design.

Ren Xinmin took over the overall interface volume, while Jiang Ming opened the guidance computer logic architecture.

The first page of the main block diagram shows a level of integration far exceeding that of the older models. Clock allocation, operation registers, conditional transfers, and interrupt control are organized into compact links, and the number of duplicate hardware components is also greatly reduced.

If the blueprints are accurate and complete, this architecture can accomplish more flight procedures with fewer components, and the weight and power consumption of airborne equipment can be reduced accordingly.

A Soviet assistant stood by the table, watching the Chinese engineer flip through the pages, and his tone regained its previous air of superiority.

"This is a mature architecture that has undergone complete flight testing. If the Chinese side wants to understand the whole logic, it will take at least two years."

Jiang Ming did not respond, but simply copied the file directory, module number, and cross-page link relationship onto the acceptance form.

The more complete the drawings, the more important it is that the acceptance process cannot stop at the functional description, as any hidden boundaries may be buried in the cross-module connections.

He requested to bring the documents into the Class A verification room, which Qian Xuesen approved on the spot. The Soviet personnel were allowed to listen in, but could not interfere with the Chinese method of dismantling.

After Zhou Chengan, Fang Xudong, and the 502 Electronics Group arrived, Jiang Ming broke down the entire logic diagram into twelve modules according to their functions.

The master clock, instruction decoding, arithmetic registers, conditional branching, interrupt control, input detection, and output execution are each assigned to different groups, with each group only responsible for the input and output of its own module.

Cross-module connections were summarized separately by Ren Xinmin and Jiang Ming to avoid everyone losing sight of the key points while simultaneously following the overall diagram.

After receiving the arithmetic register module, Zhou Cheng'an first wrote the response cycle of each instruction on the whiteboard, and then calculated the register flip, carry and zeroing time item by item.

Other engineers also began to disassemble the blueprints, and the whiteboard was soon filled with logical expressions, triggering conditions, and instruction flows.

The Soviet assistant initially stood in the back row watching, but noticed that the Chinese side was not translating page by page in the order of the table of contents, but instead directly cutting and verifying the functions. He gradually closed the technical manual in his hand.

The first round of functional verification was completed before noon.

Zhou Chengan walked up to Jiang Ming with a comparison table of the two versions of the architecture.

"The new diagram has merged the duplicate registers and reduced the number of stages for conditional jumps by two. According to the standard procedure, the efficiency is about 40% higher than the old model."

His tone conveyed the approval of a technician upon seeing an ingenious design, and several engineers around him also discovered similar improvements in their respective modules.

After listening to the translation, Vasily picked up his teacup and said, "A complete system requires a complete industrial base. Understanding a few diagrams does not mean you can manufacture it."

Jiang Ming was still checking the connections near the interrupt controller.

The main process design is clean, and the logic reuse meets the goal of improving efficiency. However, several bypass loops have not yet been included in the functional description.

They bypass conditional decoding from the detection input, connect directly to a return-to-zero register, and then return to the master clock region on the next page via cross-diagram numbering.

Individually, each segment only performs the function of fault reset, but when connected together, they form an additional control path.

Fang Xudong led a group of people to bring a bucket of mung bean soup from the canteen and distributed enamel cups to those who were doing continuous calculations.

Zhou Chengan picked up his cup and took a few gulps, then returned to the whiteboard to recalculate the carry-over cycle, wiping the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve.

Jiang Ming placed his cup next to the drawings, without taking a single bite.

Ren Xinmin walked over with a bowl of mung bean soup and pressed his interface card against the edge of the document.

"Look here."

He pointed to a zeroing register in the corner of the main layout.

"Normally, it is not called up automatically from takeoff to shutdown, and the detection signal does not pass through here. The function description only mentions ground maintenance reset."

Jiang Ming followed the pin forward.

The normal input of the return-to-zero register is indeed isolated from the flight procedure, but another thin wire passes through the interrupt controller and connects to the asynchronous reset terminal of the master clock.

This line is not subject to normal timing constraints; once the bypass condition is met, the master clock will be directly reset to zero.

"Bring me the page breaks between modules six and nine."

Fang Xudong immediately took out two sets of verification papers.

Jiang Ming pieced together the bypass numbers and found that the three detection signals, when combined, would repeatedly trigger the zero-reset register under a specific input sequence.

Each time the master clock recovers, the detection loop will reread the same set of states, and the system will then reset again, trapping the complete logic in a loop from which it cannot exit.

This input sequence would not occur in routine ground tests, and it would be difficult to trigger stable flight conditions.

If attitude detection, external interruption, and clock deviation overlap within a narrow window, the guidance computer will stop updating the control signals, while the instrument surface remains powered on. However, fault diagnosis may only show the master clock repeatedly starting up.

Ren Xinmin put down the mung bean soup and rechecked the electrical conditions of the asynchronous reset terminal.

"It can bypass all program protections."

Jiang Ming stacked the three pages together, with the cross-page numbering tightly closed, so that no accidental misalignment caused by binding or copying could be seen.

Hidden loops are distributed across different modules, and any engineer who only checks their own part will consider it a reasonable maintenance feature.

He and Ren Xinmin exchanged a glance, but did not reveal their conclusion in front of the Soviet personnel.

Ren Xinmin reached out and pressed down on the page of the drawing to prevent his assistant from seeing the lines they had marked.

Jiang Ming picked up a red pencil and drew a sealing mark in the core interrupt controller column of the acceptance form.

The complete technology package that Vasily brought has already revealed an industrial trap deep within the system, capable of disabling the entire guidance system.
