Me! A high-ranking official!

Then, changing the subject, he reassured everyone, "But don't worry, folks. Even if there's no second phase of the project for now, as long as I, Zhao Jianguo, serve as the village secretary in Luojia Village, I'll rack my brains to find more ways for us to make money and get rich!"

Just as cheers erupted in the live chat, a sharp and jarring comment suddenly appeared: "Secretary Zhao, aren't you afraid that the town will find excuses to intercept and misappropriate such a large sum of money by entrusting it all to their supervision? Or what if the town deliberately delays the process and postpones the road construction?"

The moment those words were spoken, the air in the live stream seemed to freeze for a moment.

His eyes flashed slightly, and he thought to himself, "Wow, that's a tough question. It's clearly an attempt to sow discord and put the town government in a very difficult position. Are you scared?" Anyone who has worked at the grassroots level knows that these kinds of things are really hard to say.

But he reacted quickly, laughing heartily at the camera: "This netizen's worries are unfounded. The People's Government serves the people! I have absolute confidence in the Party Committee and Government of Sanchahe Town. I believe that our town government is a good government that wholeheartedly works for the benefit of the people, and the town leaders genuinely hope that Luojia Village can have its roads repaired and escape poverty as soon as possible!"

This Tai Chi is performed flawlessly.

Just then, "Springtime Splendor," who had been lurking and watching, finally couldn't hold back any longer. A bold and eye-catching comment slowly floated across the center of the screen: "Hello everyone, I am Wang Yongchun, the Party Secretary of Sanchahe Town. Regarding the road construction funding issue mentioned earlier, I hereby formally state on behalf of the town's Party Committee and government that the town will resolutely ensure that the road construction funds for Luojia Village are used for their designated purpose! Relevant approval procedures will be completed immediately without delay! The use of every penny will be publicly disclosed at both the town government and village committee levels. The town will absolutely not interfere with the bidding process for construction teams, and will resolutely guarantee that every penny is used effectively for the road construction in Luojia Village!"

Seeing that Wang Yongchun had personally stepped forward to publicly express his stance, even guaranteeing that he would not interfere in the bidding process, he couldn't help but let out a hearty laugh in front of the camera. Understanding the unspoken message, he said to the camera, "Everyone saw that, right? The person who just spoke is none other than Secretary Wang Yongchun of our Sanchahe Town! Let's use the live chat to thank Secretary Wang for his deep concern and strong support for the development of our Luojia Village!"

Soon after, Chun Guang Shi Se posted a fist-and-palm emoji on the screen, followed by a comment that set the tone: "The Sanchahe Town Government has always been deeply concerned about the development of every village under its jurisdiction. In the past, present, and future, it will do its utmost to support the economic development and rural revitalization of each village!"

He sat in front of the camera and patiently answered several everyday questions raised by the villagers in the live chat. As the scrolling comments gradually slowed down and the questions became fewer, he picked up his water glass to moisten his throat: "Since everyone seems to have no more questions for now, let's move on to the next segment. As the saying goes, 'Preparation is the key to success, and lack of preparation leads to failure.' I'll give you a brief overview of the three key tasks for Luo Family Village next week."

He raised his first finger: "The first thing is to push forward the implementation of the land transfer project. The village committee will submit all the signed agreements and related documents to the town government and the county government for final approval in the next day or two. We're determined to complete all the project approval processes within a week! Why? To make it easier for our villagers to seize the golden time for planting. The next two weeks are the wheat harvest season in our village. As soon as the autumn crops in the fields are harvested, our planting base can immediately start operations seamlessly!"

Then, he raised his second finger: "The second thing is securing the road construction funds. I'll be going to the town in the next couple of days to work with the town government to quickly establish a joint escrow account for the road construction funds. At the same time, the village will cooperate by submitting all the necessary engineering materials and expedite the formal bidding process for the road construction project, striving to break ground as soon as possible!"

When he got to the third point, Zhao Jianguo's expression softened and became serious: "This third thing is something I've been thinking about privately. During my visits to the village recently, I found that there are about 30 children in our village who go to school in the town every day. But as everyone knows, when the children come back to the village after school, the young adults are either working outside or busy with work and not at home. The elderly at home are too old and don't have enough education to provide after-school tutoring for the children."

He paused, then spoke earnestly to the camera: "Fellow villagers, what's the point of making so much money? It's our children who are the hope for the future of Luojia Village! So, I plan to find a spacious, bright, vacant room in the village to set up a free after-school tutoring program. I'll hire tutors to help the children improve their studies and grades. If any of you in the live stream happen to have a spare, clean room, please feel free to contact me!"

After he finished speaking, the live stream chat was instantly flooded with comments like "Support Secretary Zhao" and "Secretary Zhao is really worried about us."

Seeing the overwhelming enthusiasm on the screen, he smiled and gestured with his hand, then continued, "Besides these three major matters, I'd like to briefly mention two minor ones. First, if the planting base project can be successfully approved next week, I plan to hold a grand opening ceremony in the village. At that time, the village will formally invite relevant leaders from the county and town to attend our ceremony. After all, we must not forget those who dug the well when we drink the water. The smooth progress of our work in Luojia Village is all thanks to the strong support of all the leaders."

"As for the second small matter, it concerns the care of more than ten disabled and semi-disabled elderly people in our village. This time, the village collective rented out its private plots and received a total of 170,000 yuan in rent. In addition to filling the gap in road repair funds, the village collective has just 40,000 yuan left in its account. During this period, I have been looking up the advanced experiences of various cities and prefectures in solving rural elderly care problems online, and I have a preliminary idea in mind. I plan to set up a villagers' mutual aid working group in our village."

He explained his idea in detail: "The first step is for the village to recruit three healthy and capable elderly women or men. Their main job is to deliver meals to these dozen or so elderly people who have difficulty moving around, help them turn over, pat their backs, and do some simple housework. As for compensation, the village committee will give each of the three caregivers a subsidy of 300 yuan per month. At the same time, the families of the elderly people receiving the services will also contribute 300 yuan per month as a hardship allowance. In this way, the people who do the work will have an income every month, and the elderly people will also receive proper care."
