He Sichen didn't reply, but tapped his finger on the steering wheel.

The streetlights slid across his face frame by frame, drawing the line between light and shadow on his profile.

Si Yimian took out a bottle of ice-cold mineral water from the car refrigerator; water droplets were condensed on the bottle.

She unscrewed the cap, took a sip, and then handed it over.

"Would you like some?"

"drive."

"Then I'll feed you."

She leaned over and pressed the bottle opening to his lips.

He Sichen tilted his head to avoid it, and the water bottle shook, causing a few drops of cold water to fall onto his shirt collar.

"I won't drink it."

"Afraid I'll poison you?"

"I'm afraid you'll use witchcraft on me."

Si Yimian burst out laughing, almost choking on water.

She coughed twice, patting her chest, and a little water welled up in the corner of her eye.

"Dr. He, you're getting better and better at catching jokes."

She suddenly reached out and pressed the cold bottle against his neck.

He Sichen's fingers tightened suddenly around the steering wheel, his knuckles sticking out.

"Take it away."

"It's a bit hot, let me help you cool down."

She twisted her wrist, and the bottom of the bottle slid down along his neckline.

Adam's apple, collarbone, and the indentation below the collarbone.

Water droplets from the bottle seeped into his shirt fabric and trickled down his skin.

He Sichen's Adam's apple bobbed, and the car suddenly slowed down.

"The back seats are quite spacious; you can even lie down."

Si Yimian leaned against the passenger seat and suddenly turned around to look at the back seat.

The bottle stopped at the hollow of his collarbone, and didn't go any lower.

He Sichen suddenly slammed on the brakes.

The car was parked on the side of the road, and the tires splashed a small amount of water as they drove over the puddles.

He turned to look at her.

The light from the streetlights streamed through the windshield, turning his pupils a pale amber hue, within which lay a pool of dark fire.

"What? You want to do it in the car?"

Si Yimian was stunned.

and many more.

Her words just now did have a flirtatious tone, but she expected him to put on a straight face and say "stop it," and then she would continue to tease him until his ears turned red.

But this person didn't follow the script.

Directly checkmate.

"I did not mean that."

"I mean, you can sleep in the back."

"My feet hurt from wearing high heels today, I want to lie down."

"What are you thinking about?"

He Sichen looked at her without saying a word.

Before she could even organize her thoughts, He Sichen had already unbuckled his seatbelt.

"Your seatbelt is off. Tell me, do you want it or not?"

Si Yimian swallowed hard.

What's wrong with this person?

He's usually as celibate as if he's just returned to secular life from the temple, but he switches to offensive mode as soon as he's in front of her.

"Dr. He, I was just joking..."

"You're not kidding."

He interrupted her, his tone resolute.

You are testing me.

Si Yimian felt a little guilty under his gaze.

Okay, she was indeed testing the waters.

Tonight, he threw the Lighthouse Project onto the table in front of both sets of parents, and she was so handsome that she wanted to pounce on him and kiss him right then and there.

But she has to maintain a proper demeanor at the dinner table; once she leaves the house, she doesn't want to anymore.

She just didn't expect him to see through her act in a second, not even giving her a chance to pretend.

"Dr. He, you're really not someone to be fooled."

"Mm," he replied.

"So just tell me what you want to do next time."

"Between the lines, it's a waste of each other's time."

Si Yimian: "..."

The atmosphere was quiet for about ten seconds.

The lighthouse is about to begin the process.

Once the contract was signed, she held the real power in Chenxi's hands.

By then, she should have withdrawn.

While you can still get something for free, reward yourself with a few more exciting things; it's worth it.

After all, every time you do it, it's one less time you'll get to do it.

"I want to too."

Si Yimian suddenly spoke.

He Sichen turned his head to look at her, his dark eyes darkening in the dim light.

"What are you thinking about?"

"I want to do it in the car."

She was utterly humiliated when she said that, but her tone remained defiant.

He Sichen remained silent for a moment.

Then he looked away and gripped the steering wheel again.

The engine started, and the car turned onto a side road. On both sides were undeveloped open spaces. The streetlights went from sparse to completely gone, leaving only the car headlights to illuminate the waist-high weeds by the roadside.

The tires rolled over gravel, causing her shoulders to sway inside the seatbelt.

The car stopped.

He Sichen turned off the engine, and the interior lights automatically turned on, casting a warm yellow glow that framed the person in a small world.

He unbuckled his seatbelt and turned to look at her. "Are you sure you want to play this thrilling game?"

Si Yimian met his gaze.

He brought her the world's finest cake tonight, complete with a plate and cutlery.

What else is she uncertain about?

She reached out, hooked his tie around her knuckles, and slowly tightened it, pulling him towards her.

His upper body was pulled forward, and he braced himself on the back of her seat with one hand.

"Sure."

She tightened her grip on his tie, completely dismantling his last shred of restraint.

He Sichen raised his hand, pried open the hand that was gripping her tie, pinned it to the back of the chair, and then leaned down to press down on her.

The kiss landed on the corner of her mouth, not the usual overwhelming attack, but light and shallow, as if testing her.

Si Yimian took the initiative to bite his lower lip.

"Dr. He, what are you hesitating about?"

He Sichen stepped back a little, his voice low, magnetic, and husky.

"I'm hesitating about whether to move you from the passenger seat to the back."

"Then you bring it up."

He was completely ignited by her words.

He pulled the driver's seat back all the way, then scooped her up from the passenger seat, kneeling on either side of the seat, and nestled her into his arms.

The steering wheel was digging into her lower back, and she hissed. He supported her back with one hand and moved her forward a little.

"Did you bump into something?"

"No...it's just that the steering wheel is a bit stiff."

She was referring to the steering wheel, but he clearly misunderstood it.

"You're already complaining about it being too hard before we've even started?"

Si Yimian: "He Sichen, you really know how to grasp the key points."

He Sichen's lips twitched slightly.

Then he pulled her out of the driver's seat, scooped her up, and climbed into the back seat.

The back row is indeed spacious; the weight of two people pressed two deep grooves into the leather seat cushions.

Si Yimian lay on the back seat, looking up at him as he unbuttoned his shirt one button at a time, her Adam's apple bobbing in the light streaming in.

She suddenly felt her mouth was dry.

When He Sichen leaned down, she raised her chin.

The kiss landed on his lips; this time it wasn't a test, it was a crushing one.

It's still raining.

A film of water had accumulated on the panoramic sunroof. Rainwater slid down the curve of the roof, gathered into a string of droplets at the edge of the window, and then fell into the night.

The halo of the reading light on the roof swayed into an arc in Si Yimian's vision.

The wild grass rustled in the night wind, and occasionally car headlights swept across the distant highway, the light spots brushing against the windshield before quickly disappearing into the darkness.

When she was flipped over, her knee hit the seatbelt buckle, and she hissed.

He immediately lifted her up and used one hand to pull the seatbelt to the side.

"Sweetie, turn around."

Si Yimian did as instructed.

With my back pressed against his chest, I could feel the rise and fall of his pectoral muscles and the beating of his heart beneath his shirt.

She felt like she was being held on a low flame.

The flames may not look big from the outside, but the heat seeps into your bones bit by bit, so long that there is nowhere to escape.

The heat inside the car caused a thin layer of fog to form on the inside of the windows.

As Si Yimian turned her head to look out the window, rainwater slid down the glass.

Suddenly, I realized that this night deserves to be remembered.
