One Piece: We already have the Four Gods, so my Six Paths Sage is reasonable, right?

Chapter 22 I am so glad I refused your request to board the ship.

Wang Zhi's face was gloomy as he squeezed out, "You're really annoying."

The white-bearded man ignored him and turned to walk into the boat.

Wang Zhi stood quietly watching the white-bearded man leave. There was nothing he could do; he couldn't beat him in a fight, so he could only suffer in silence.

-------------------------------------

Time always flies by in the blink of an eye.

Two more days have passed in the blink of an eye.

The rest of the Rocks Pirates have still not arrived to join them.

The sea was empty, and when Ron woke up, it was already past ten in the morning.

Sunlight streamed in obliquely through the porthole, drawing a bright trapezoidal shape on the wooden floor.

Ron sat up with a yawn and went outside, where he saw a note left by Annika on the outside of the bedroom door.

Lord Ron, I've gone out to buy food, I'll be right back. The hostages haven't run away.

After reading it, Ron casually put it in his pocket, dismissing the idea that "the hostages didn't run away" as completely unnecessary.

If he didn't trust Annika, he wouldn't have given her the freedom to act.

After washing up, Ron went to the ship's lounge and immediately saw Stusey curled up on the sofa reading a newspaper.

"Oh, you're up?" Stusey said lazily, turning a page of the newspaper without looking up. "Newgate told you to go to the pub in town for a drink after you wake up."

"Aren't you going?" Ron asked casually.

Stussy then raised his eyelids, glanced at him, and quickly lowered them again, saying in a flat tone, "A thief has returned; I dare not leave my back to him."

She was referring to Wang Zhi, of course. Now, Stussy just hoped that those bastards from the Lockes gang would come back soon, so she wouldn't have to worry about that "thief" doing anything behind her back.

"Oh." Ron nodded slightly, said nothing more, and walked out.

He couldn't quite understand these money-grubbers. They were pirates, so why did they need treasure?

Why can't you just steal what you want? What respectable pirate would give up what they want just because they don't have enough money?

"Hey, Ron," Stussy's voice came from behind, "Bring some back for me too."

"understood."

The distance from the coast to the town is not far; it takes about 30 minutes to walk there.

Ron wasn't in a hurry; his pace wasn't fast, but it wasn't slow either. He stopped on a slightly winding stretch of road.

It wasn't because I was tired, but because my "malice perception" sensed a dangerous aura.

This perception was subsequently confirmed.

"Ron, I've finally found you."

A light, airy voice came from the side front.

Ron turned to the side and looked in the direction from which the sound came, where three familiar figures were reflected in his eyes.

"Roger? Rayleigh? Jabba?" Ron asked, slightly surprised. "What a coincidence?"

But soon, the expressions on Roger and the other two's faces told him that this was no coincidence.

Roger pushed his straw hat up a bit, and his usually carefree face was now devoid of any smile.

"What's up?" Ron asked first.

Roger didn't answer immediately. He stared at Ron for two seconds before slowly speaking, "Why? Why did you turn a blind eye to Shakky and the others' conditions when you clearly agreed to them? You can choose not to save them, but why drag them into this mess?"

When Ron saw their faces, which looked like the dead in their homes, he knew something bad was going to happen, and now... his suspicions have come true. But he also didn't expect that Roger and the others had come for Shakky.

But upon closer reflection, it makes sense. In the original story, the entire Roger Pirates were completely infatuated with Shakky.

It's normal for someone to seek justice from themselves for the sake of "love" or so-called "righteousness."

However... wait a minute.

Ron sensed something was off. He was traveling with Kaido, Whitebeard, and Stussy, so why was he looking for him? Or was he just unlucky enough to run into them?

"Them?" Ron's tone remained calm. "You mean... those slaves captured by the World Government?"

"It seems... you've come to me to demand an explanation because none of them survived."

Ron felt a little regretful. "You should have said so earlier. If you had told me earlier that all those slaves were people Shakky wanted, I would have taken them on the second ship as well."

Then he would demand a hefty reward from Xia Qi, since kidnapping one person was the same as kidnapping a group.

Roger kept watching Ron's expression, hoping to see a trace of guilt, a trace of unease, or even a hint of excuse—anything would do.

But there was nothing there.

Ron's face was indifferent, the kind of indifference that said, "This has nothing to do with me," an indifference that made you want to punch him.

Roger's anger finally erupted like a burst dam: "Ron, you bastard, is 'loyalty' worth nothing to you?"

Ron didn't immediately refute it because he felt there was no point in arguing with Roger about it.

From Roger's perspective, you were wrong for not saving everyone.

From his own perspective, Shakky only asked for "certain help in special circumstances," a request that Ron felt he had already fulfilled.

He saved Annika.

Moreover, since it was an independent operation and the Kuja Pirates didn't contribute anything, it's quite normal for him to demand double the reward.

"On the high seas, they call me 'The Demon Butcher,' saying I, Ron, am a demon who doesn't value life. Didn't you already know that? Heh heh... Is there any need to be so angry?"

Roger lowered his gaze, and the turmoil in his eyes finally subsided. He slowly placed his hand on the hilt of his knife and gripped it tightly.

"Phew..." Roger exhaled. "Since that's the case..."

Roger was disappointed.

If Ron had been even slightly nicer and said something like "I didn't mean it," he probably would have let it go.

Even if it's just a lie, it at least shows that this person still cares about something.

but no.

Ron didn't care.

They don't care about the dead, they don't care about "faith".

"I am so glad I refused your request to board the ship," Roger said in a deep voice.

"After saying so much," Ron's voice remained calm, even carrying a hint of amusement, "I thought you were here to reason with me."

"Face reality, you bastard," Jabba suddenly interjected with a cold laugh, his hand already on the weapon at his waist. "We're pirates, after all. Whether we talk about morality or not depends on our mood."
