Chapter 80 Trivia about the Sword of Gibbek
A new world, on a certain sea area.
The Sword of Gibeck is cutting through the waves.
The bow cleaved through the azure sea, and the surging white waves left a long trail behind the stern.
Compared to the hurried pace they had when they arrived, their speed had noticeably slowed down, like a ship that had finally unloaded its burdens and was now leisurely rocking in the sunlight.
In the few days since returning to port, the atmosphere in the Rocks Pirates has been surprisingly good. Of course, this is not an exaggeration. It's mainly because everyone is busy with their own things and doesn't have time to pick fights with each other.
Using Rocks as a "teaching tool," Ron began intensive training in Haki and swordsmanship.
Kaido didn't understand, but he knew one thing: following Ron was the right thing to do.
Annika was in charge of Ron's daily life, and in her spare time she would make some snacks for others to try.
Lingling and Gu Luoli Osa had a fight over body management and ended up making a bet.
Golden Lion and Silver Axe, those two restless guys, would come over and invite Ron and Kaido to "play games" whenever they had a spare moment, but Ron always politely declined, saying that "studying is the priority."
Whitebeard maintained his "AFK" posture. He was practically a god. He could drink a little wine and sit on the deck all day, quietly watching Ron and the others train hard without saying a word or leaving.
As for the others, they do nothing all day, drifting aimlessly, randomly stirring up trouble. Once one succeeds, they watch the show, and after watching, they discuss who to trick next. They are simply demons.
On the deck, the bright sunlight shone down, making the grain of the wooden planks glow slightly warm.
Ron and Kaido were shirtless, sweat dripping down their backs and leaving a dark, damp trail around their feet.
However, compared to Ron, Kaido's condition was simply unbearable to look at.
His face was swollen like a pig's head, his eye sockets were bruised and purple, there were dried bloodstains at the corners of his mouth, and his body was covered in bruises.
Ron was almost completely unharmed, except for the sweat covering his body.
"That's not fair!" Kaido yelled at Rocks in his distorted voice, rubbing his face. "Rocks, you bastard, you must have held back when you beat Ron!"
Lox stood a few steps away and sneered inwardly upon hearing this.
Did I go too lightly?
After personally experiencing Ron's almost abnormal recovery ability on the first day, he almost killed him.
In contrast, Kaido, after taking a punch, lay on the ground clutching his stomach. When asked to get up, he would either say "wind" or "rain".
When asked to continue training the next day, he said, "I'll train again when my injury is healed."
"Alright," Rocks said with a smile, "then I'll use the same power I used against Ron against you."
Kaido was secretly pleased, but his face remained tense: "Keep your word, Rocks."
"Of course," Rocks said, his right hand slowly clenching, a strong aura of dominance swirling around his fist. He continued, "You'd better use Observation Haki to predict the direction of my attack, and then use Armament Haki to defend."
Kaido immediately felt a chill run down his spine.
I don't know why, but I have a feeling that if I were to get punched like that, I might experience a series of flashbacks.
"Wait!" Kaido suddenly raised his hand. "Pause! My stomach hurts!"
Without waiting for Lockes's consent, he had already turned around and quickly slipped into the cabin, disappearing cleanly and swiftly.
At that moment, the Golden Lion emerged from the cabin.
He glanced at the scene on the deck, then casually walked over to where the white-bearded man was, leaning against the railing with a relaxed air: "Newgate, still so interested in watching idiots get beaten up?"
The white-bearded man raised his eyelids and glanced at him with the look of someone looking at an idiot: "Still watching an idiot talking about others as idiots behind their backs."
The Golden Lion paused, turned his head to look at the Whitebeard's expressionless face, and finally just sneered without saying anything more.
On the other side of the deck, Annika came out carrying a tray with three glasses of water neatly arranged on it.
She walked briskly to Ron and Lox, her voice soft: "Lord Ron, Lord Lox, are you thirsty? Have some water."
"Hoo hoo," Ron took the cup. After working up a sweat, drinking a glass of water felt incredibly refreshing.
He raised the cup to his lips, but paused slightly just before it touched his lips.
That smell?
Isn't it too pungent?
He instinctively put down his cup and looked at Annika: "What's this?"
"Plain water!" Annika replied with a smile.
Ron didn't think much of it; Annika probably added some of her own special ingredients to it again.
Just as he was about to take another bite, Annika suddenly leaned closer in a low voice and said mysteriously, "Lord Ron, actually this is life-giving water to replenish energy. Didn't you have a little unpleasantness with Lord Shiki before? He asked me to give you this as an apology. He also told me not to tell you, but I don't want to steal the credit, after all, it was something he and Lord Longbread worked hard to develop."
Not far away, the Golden Lion frowned sharply and cursed inwardly: Could this fool be any more reliable?
I'm outta here~
I'm outta here~
Then the golden lion strode toward the cabin.
Ron stopped in his tracks as he was about to drink.
He glanced at Annika's sincere face, then looked down at the glass of "water of life" in his hand, before slowly raising his head and calling out to the figure that was about to slip away, "Hey, Shiki."
The golden lion paused, then turned around somewhat awkwardly, forcing a smile that seemed as natural as possible: "What?"
"Can I borrow your lighter?" Ron said casually.
Without thinking much, Golden Lion casually pulled out a lighter from his pocket and tossed it over.
Ron caught it, turned it on with a click, and held the flame above the rim of the cup.
In that instant, a cluster of deep blue flames suddenly leaped up from the cup, dancing in the sunlight and sea breeze, like a flower that had been set ablaze.
Annika's eyes widened in surprise: "Wow, this life-giving water can catch fire!"
Ron reached out and lightly flicked her forehead: "Damn the water of life, this is strong liquor."
Annika covered her forehead and shrank back with a pitiful expression.
Ron looked up and raised his voice at the figure that was almost at the cabin door: "Ski, I fucking thank you. Stick your head out, I'll give you something."
The golden lion's pace quickened noticeably, and in a flash, it disappeared through the cabin doorway.
