He opened the fire door to the underground garage and gestured for her to go in first.

The car was parked on the side of the road, and the hazard lights were turned on twice.

Li Ruoxue turned her eyes very alertly to the half-face sticking out from the driver's seat.

He opened the passenger door of the SUV and got in.

I had just settled into my seat and was about to reach out my right hand to pull down and fasten the seatbelt.

Li Ruoxue glanced casually into the rearview mirror.

He stared directly at Su Xiaowan, who was sitting quietly in the back row, and raised his eyebrows.

"Chen Yang, can you explain what's going on here? We're risking our lives to go to Black Feather's hideout to find clues and investigate. What are you doing bringing along a complete stranger?"

Li Ruoxue slapped the seatbelt in her hand onto the buckle and glared directly at Chen Yang, who was turning the steering wheel sharply beside her.

"What do you mean by 'unrelated person'? I really don't feel comfortable leaving her alone at home. Anyway, the resort is huge. We can go to the lakeside to visit her and then put her in the hotel. That would be much safer."
