Wizard: I Have a Nightmare World

Chapter 21 Hidden Dangers in Mental Power

Lynn looked at the sleeping figure on the crystal ball and let out a long sigh.

Second-class apprentice, mental scale 3.2.

From the moment he awakened in the Nightmare World until now, less than a month has passed. He has gone from a useless apprentice who couldn't even draw a complete meditation rune to a second-class wizard apprentice.

If word gets out about this speed, it will probably cause quite a stir in White Raven Tower.

But Lynn didn't bask in her joy for long.

He put away the crystal ball, tidied himself up briefly, put on the dark red Inheritor's Badge, and went out.

He needed to go to the White Raven Tower immediately to report the result to the Bloodvine Wizard.

He completed the 15-day deadline four days ahead of schedule.

As he passed through the gates of the White Raven Tower wearing the badge, the power of spatial folding was activated again, and he was teleported directly to the corridor on the twelfth floor.

Taking a deep breath, Lynn knocked on the study door.

"Come in."

The Bloodvine Wizard's voice came from inside.

Lynn pushed open the door and entered. The first thing he saw was the Bloodvine Wizard sitting behind his desk, holding a yellowed book in his hands. When he saw Lynn come in, he put down the book and his gaze swept over Lynn.

After his gaze lingered on Lynn for two seconds, a clear look of surprise flashed in his eyes, which flickered like candlelight.

"Second-class apprenticeship?"

Lynn bowed slightly.

"Yes, thanks to the teacher's guidance and the medicine, the student has just broken through, and the mental scale has reached 3.2."

The Bloodvine Wizard remained silent for a few seconds, then slowly nodded, the surprise on his face gradually replaced by a sense of relief.

"It's faster than I expected."

"I originally thought it would take you at least two weeks to complete the third rune, but I didn't expect that you not only completed all the runes, but also broke through the bottleneck of mental energy liquefaction."

As he spoke, he took out an antique-looking black ring from the drawer of his desk, placed it on the table, and pushed it in front of Lynn.

"This is a reward, a reward for achieving the goal ahead of schedule."

Upon hearing this, Lynn picked up the black ring. It was slightly cool to the touch, and its surface was covered with intricate patterns.

He probed it with his spiritual power and immediately sensed a space of about ten cubic meters in size, which was empty, like a miniature room.

"A spatial ring?"

Lynn was startled.

This is something that even formal wizards might not be able to possess. A spatial ring costs at least 10,000 gold coins on the black market, and there's no market for it; no one would easily part with it.

"It's just a basic, entry-level space ring, with an interior space roughly equivalent to a small bedroom."

The Bloodvine Wizard waved his hand dismissively, his tone indifferent, as if he had given away nothing more than an insignificant little gift.

"You are now a second-class apprentice. Once you start working with potions, you will need to carry more and more materials and equipment. It will be very inconvenient without a space to equip them."

"This ring may not be big, but it's enough for everyday use."

Lynn solemnly put the ring on the middle finger of his left hand. It was the perfect size, as if it had been made for him.

"Thank you, teacher."

"No need for thanks, you deserve it."

Just as the Bloodvine Wizard was about to continue speaking, his gaze suddenly sharpened, fixing on Lynn, and his brows furrowed slightly.

He was silent for a moment, then suddenly spoke:

"Stretch out your hand."

Although Lynn didn't understand why, he still extended his right hand as instructed.

The Bloodvine Wizard extended two withered fingers and placed them on the inside of Lynn's wrist. He closed his eyes, and his spiritual energy flowed through the fingers into Lynn's body, sensing something.

A few seconds later, he opened his eyes, his brows furrowing even more.

"After you broke through to the second-level apprentice level, did you feel that your mental state was a little off?"

Lynn paused, then thought back carefully.

"It doesn't seem like it. I just feel that after the breakthrough, my mental energy has become more abundant than before, and my senses are more acute. I don't feel anything is wrong."

"That's because you haven't compared yourself to other apprentices at the same level."

The Bloodvine Wizard withdrew his finger, his gaze turning serious.

"Your spiritual energy is abundant, but it is very mixed."

"When you broke through to the second-level apprentice level, you absorbed too many free energy particles, but you didn't have time to purify them effectively. Now these impurities have mixed into your liquid mental energy."

"Sense it for yourself."

Upon hearing this, Lynn closed his eyes and sank his consciousness into his mental space.

The newly formed pool of spiritual fluid was slowly rotating, emitting a gentle light.

He sensed it carefully for a moment and indeed discovered the problem.

The liquid spiritual energy was not pure; it contained some fine gray spots, like dust floating in clear water. Although it did not seem to affect the operation of spiritual energy at present, if these impurities were not cleaned up in time, they would gradually settle down as his realm improved, eventually becoming a stubborn problem that was difficult to remove and would affect his subsequent cultivation.

Lynn opened his eyes, his back covered in a layer of cold sweat.

"Please give me some guidance, teacher."

The Bloodvine Wizard saw that he quickly realized the seriousness of the problem, and the seriousness on his face eased somewhat.

"Your ability to break through to the second-level apprentice level in such a short time shows that you have some hidden talent and perseverance."

"But on the path of a wizard, talent and perseverance are just the first steps. What truly determines how far you can go is your foundation."

"And those impurities are destroying your foundation."

Bloodvine stood up, walked to the bookshelf behind him, pulled out a yellowed animal hide scroll from the third shelf, and walked back to hand it to Lynn.

"This is the [Tidal Visualization Method], a meditation diagram specifically used to purify spiritual energy."

"You should visualize this once in the morning and once in the evening, for at least fifteen minutes each time, using the power of the tides to repeatedly wash over the spiritual liquid pool, gradually peeling away those impurities."

"This process cannot be rushed; it requires patience and perseverance."

Lynn took the animal hide scroll, unfolded it, and took a look.

There are no words on the scroll, only an extremely complex pattern of lines.

At first glance, the pattern looks like a layer of surging waves, but upon closer inspection, the lines seem to be constantly changing, as if they are actually flowing.

His gaze lingered on the pattern for less than three seconds before he felt a slight dizziness and quickly looked away.

"This visualization contains a trace of the power of tidal rules. Since this is your first time encountering it, don't stare at it for too long, or it will damage your mental strength."

"The visualization time should be increased gradually each day, starting with 15 minutes and gradually increasing the time."

The Bloodvine Wizard gave some instructions from the side.

"Once the impurities in your spirit fluid pool are purified to more than 70%, you can begin to formally learn potion-making."

"Before that, you need to lay a solid foundation."

Lynn put the animal hide scroll into his spatial ring and bowed respectfully.

"The student understands."

"Go, for the next few days, spend all your time on visualization and purification, except for eating and sleeping."

"Come find me again when you feel that the impurities in the spiritual liquid pool have been significantly reduced."

Bloodvine Wizard waved to Lynn, sat back down in his chair, and picked up the yellowed tome to continue reading.

Lynn bowed again, then turned and left the study.

As he stepped out of the White Raven Tower and stood in the midday sun, he looked down at the black spatial ring on his hand and thought of the animal hide scroll inside. He felt both the joy of his gains and the lingering fear of being awakened.

If his teacher hadn't discovered the impurities in his spiritual power in time, he probably would have continued cultivating with this hidden danger until one day, when he was trying to break through to a higher realm, those impurities that had accumulated over the years suddenly erupted, completely severing his path to transcendence.

A mentor with extensive experience is invaluable, far exceeding expectations.

Lynn took a deep breath and quickened his pace toward his breeding room.

He was already quite eager to start trying out the [Tidal Visualization Method].
