Wizard: I Have a Nightmare World

Chapter 6 Black Market Gold Rush

The black market here was not the quiet, whispered buying scene that Lynn had imagined.

Instead, this place is more like a vegetable market, with shouts of vendors, haggling, and arguments all mixed together, filling this narrow alley.

Seeing this, Lynn subconsciously tightened his grip on the money pouch in his arms and began to look at each stall one by one.

What he needed was clear: a jade knife, a grinder, a set of beakers, and a simple oven with temperature control.

Apart from that, we should save on the remaining equipment as much as possible.

However, after Lynn inquired about the prices at several stalls, his brow remained furrowed.

"A jade knife? The cheapest one costs at least a silver coin. This one, however, has a crack on the blade."

The burly stall owner casually tossed over a dark green jade knife, the blade bearing a hair-thin crack.

Lynn looked at the jade knife, shook his head, and returned it.

It's not worth buying a defective product for a silver coin!

Besides, he only has ten silver coins on him, so it's completely unnecessary to waste them on a defective product.

Afterwards, Lynn inquired at several more stalls and found that even the lowest-end equipment cost at least six silver coins, a price that made him hesitate.

"We don't have enough money..."

Lynn stood in the middle of the alley, watching the crowds coming and going, her mind racing.

Just then, his gaze fell on a stall in a corner.

It was a very inconspicuous location, sandwiched between two large stalls, and easily overlooked if you didn't look carefully.

The stall owner was a thin, hooded figure with a pile of what looked like junk haphazardly laid out in front of him.

Lynn walked over, squatted down, and rummaged through the pile of things.

A set of broken glass beakers, two rusty daggers, several pieces of ore of unknown use, a wooden staff broken in two...

Lynn kept turning it over, and soon touched something hard at the bottom.

He pulled it out and saw that it was actually a jade knife.

This jade knife is light blue in color and has a thick patina on its surface, indicating that it is quite old. However, the blade is not covered and the lines are still sharp and smooth, without any nicks or cracks.

As for the handle, it's still somewhat discernible that it's carved from some kind of black wood, and it feels warm to the touch.

"nice one!"

Lynn judged from the first glance that the jade knife was of high quality, even much better than the jade knives he had seen at other stalls.

He suppressed his excitement and asked the stall owner in a calm tone.

"How much is this?"

The stall owner looked up, revealing a thin, bony face. He looked only fifteen or sixteen years old, but his amber eyes revealed a sense of vicissitude that was inconsistent with his age.

"Two silver coins."

Lynn raised an eyebrow when he heard the price.

The price was much cheaper than he had expected, but he shook his head.

"It's too expensive. Although this knife is of good quality, it's secondhand after all, and look at the handle, there are some small cracks..."

As Lynn spoke, he pointed to a crack that was almost invisible where the hilt met the blade.

"You see, this crack isn't obvious, but it will eventually break after prolonged use."

"How about this, I'll take the silver coin?"

The stall owner looked at the jade knife, hesitated for a moment, and then gritted his teeth.

"Minimum two silver coins, no less!"

Seeing this, Lynn once again tried to negotiate with the stall owner.

After a five-minute negotiation, the jade knife was finally sold for the price of a silver coin.

At the moment of the transaction, the stall owner showed no remorse whatsoever, but rather seemed as relaxed as if he were handing over a hot potato.

This made Lynn more cautious, so she asked him a question.

"Tell me, is there really something wrong with your jade knife?"

The stall owner, who was putting silver coins into his purse, instinctively shuddered when he heard Lynn's question.

He quickly packed up the things in front of him and then waved to Lynn.

"The jade knife is fine; it works perfectly."

So, I wish you a happy life!

After saying that, the stall owner simply carried his things and left the alley, his back view light and carefree, as if he had gotten rid of a mountain that had been weighing him down.

Lynn remained silent. He put away the jade knife and continued to buy the remaining equipment at other stalls.

It took about an hour for Lynn to successfully purchase all the equipment needed to make the hemostatic agent.

All he had left was a single silver coin.

At this moment, Lynn, standing at the entrance of the alley, looked at his only silver coin and fell into deep thought.

He didn't need to worry about food; the college cafeteria would provide enough food to fill his stomach for free.

Unless Lynn has a craving for better food.

As for accommodation, he doesn't need to worry about it since it's in the breeding room.

So the most important thing now is to finish preparing the hemostatic agent and hand it over as soon as possible.

Exhaling, Lynn strode towards the incubation room.

Ten minutes later, the door to Lynn's incubation room was opened, and a figure carrying a pile of equipment entered.

When we returned to the incubation room, it was already late at night.

After Lynn placed all the equipment in an open space, he quickly washed them all and then dried them with a cloth.

After doing all that, he took another look at the herbs, fertilizing those that needed fertilizing and watering those that needed watering, making sure that none of the herbs had any problems before Lynn returned to his house.

Lynn took off his herbalist apprentice robes and lay down on the bed.

It was still early, some time before midnight, so he closed his eyes and entered a meditative state.

Upon entering the consciousness space, the first meditation rune floated quietly, emitting a soft light, like a quiet star in the night sky.

Lynn's spiritual energy surrounded the rune, constantly being nourished.

It's a wonderful feeling, like parched land being nourished by rain, where every inch of the land becomes full and vibrant.

After taking a look, Lynn began to try to sketch the second meditation rune.

However, he soon discovered that the difficulty of drawing the second meditation rune increased dramatically compared to the first one.

Lynn was sweating profusely from just the first stroke. He even wondered if there was something wrong with his meditation runes, why was it so difficult?

However, after checking with the "Basic Meditation Method", Lynn discovered that the problem was not with the meditation runes, but simply with his own limited talent.

Having realized this, Lynn broke out of his meditative state and glanced at the clock; midnight was fast approaching.

So he simply lay down on the bed, closed his eyes, and quietly waited, emptying his mind.

No one knows how much time passed, but when that force swept over, Lynn found himself in the Nightmare World.

When I opened my eyes, I was still standing on that familiar gray-white bone-like ground, surrounded by an endless gray mist.

We've arrived in the Nightmare World.

Without any hesitation, Lynn immediately went through the complete formula for the hemostatic agent from beginning to end.

Five materials, forty-three processes, and twenty-five details that are most prone to errors.

Every single place is etched deep in his memory.

He then visualized all the materials and equipment needed for the hemostatic agent in front of him.

Looking at the familiar herbs in front of him, Lynn took a deep breath and picked up the jade knife that had materialized in the Nightmare World and was exactly the same as the one he had just bought from the black market.

"here we go!"

His gaze fell on the blood-clotting grass, and his hand fell steadily.
