"Whoosh~"
A wooden sword whistled through the air, slashing upwards towards the woman's neck. The man remained calm, his feet shifting, kicking up bits of dirt.
He also held a wooden sword in his hand, which had come later. He used his sword to block the sword that was aimed at his neck. The two hardwood swords collided and made a "thud".
She jerked her wrist to release the force, preventing the two swords from clashing and breaking. Then, she twisted her forearm, using her sword to deflect the attack, and stepped forward, intending to strike the man's chest with a palm.
But the man, using the force of deflecting the wooden sword, threw his free hand at her face. Having won too many times, she had become somewhat careless and was now unable to dodge.
A handful of sand was thrown at his face. Although Shunzai closed his eyes in time, some sand still got into them. His eyes stung and he couldn't open them, but he felt a chill in his heart.
Sure enough, the next instant, a force came from her abdomen, kicking her back several steps, almost causing her to choke.
She was now wide open, and could only quickly cover her chest with her arms. Ye Chaosheng, of course, showed no mercy and kicked her again.
After gathering some of his strength, he suddenly kicked her arm, knocking Shunzai to the ground. Then, he swung his sword, holding back most of his strength, and struck her on the head with the blade.
"Hahaha! I won! I finally won!"
With two black eyes and several red marks on his face from being whipped, Ye Chaosheng was stunned for a moment, then jumped up and down happily.
Shunzai's mind went blank for a moment, then he covered his burning forehead, rubbed his eyes and stood up. Hearing Ye Chaosheng's cheers, he was furious and angrily rebuked him.
"What are you yelling about? You just won once by luck. You can't get the sand out of your hands anymore. Hurry up and blow the sand out for me."
"Oh, okay, senior sister, please take your hand away first." Ye Chaosheng's timid voice rang out.
Shunzai kept her eyes tightly closed and didn't think much of it at the moment. She removed her hand from her eyes, tilted her head back slightly, and the next instant, her eyes were pried open, and a handful of water gushed down from her eyes, splashing onto her face.
Shunzai wiped the few grains of sand from his face, tidied his messy hair, and said in a sinister tone, "Ye Chaosheng, do you want to die?"
A moment later, Ye Chaosheng, who was missing a tooth, served tea and massaged his shoulders, promising a huge sum of money that he could only repay if he sold himself, before he finally appeased Shunzai and continued teaching him.
Over the past month or so, Shunzai often teased him with words. At first, Ye Chaosheng would mostly blush and remain silent, but after a while, he became more thick-skinned and would say anything as long as he could learn swordsmanship and literacy.
Looking at Ye Chaosheng, who was rubbing his legs and acting rather shameless, Shunzai felt increasingly speechless and regretted that he often teased him.
However, it cannot be denied that this junior brother is a swordsmanship genius in this area, and he has almost caught up with her three years of cultivation in just over a month.
Shunzai's tone was somewhat complicated: "Junior brother, my swordsmanship is shallow, and there is almost nothing I can teach you. I don't know what the final result of swordsmanship is; I've only seen people who can use sword energy."
She paused, then exclaimed from the bottom of her heart, "You can probably cultivate sword energy too, and perhaps... in the future, you will truly have the power to leave this sea."
"It's a pity your cultivation level..." She paused, then asked, "Has that bottle of spiritual item been used up? Did it work?"
Seeing his senior sister praising him so seriously for the first time, Ye Chaosheng rubbed his hands a little embarrassedly: "I used it, and I feel... it has some effect. My spiritual energy is much more active when I cultivate."
Shunzai nodded: "I'll bring you some more tomorrow. Your cultivation level isn't high, so remember not to take too much at once."
"What happens if you take too much?" Ye Chaosheng asked curiously, as he had never taken any.
Upon hearing this, the woman in front of him chuckled coquettishly, her tone alluring: "Hehe~ If you take too much, you'll... become a beast. Maybe if this weak woman, your senior sister, stood in front of you, you wouldn't be able to control yourself and would devour me. Junior brother, want to try? But be gentle with your senior sister then~"
Ye Chaosheng slapped away Shunzai's hand that was reaching for his chest, and said with a serious face, "We'll talk about it next time. Let's learn to read. I'm sure I can recognize ten characters today."
Shunzai's expression froze for a moment, and with some pain, she took out a tattered booklet from her storage bag. She had torn it up in her anger, and she couldn't understand why there were such stupid people in the world.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up. She picked up the wooden sword stuck in the ground, a vengeful look flashing across her face. She casually flipped to a page, pointed at it, and asked, "What's the pronunciation of this character?"
Ye Chaosheng bent down, examined it carefully, and answered somewhat uncertainly, "Wei?"
"Hand out."
Ye Chaosheng reached out his hand in confusion.
The next instant, the wooden sword pierced the air and struck his palm with a whoosh.
*Smack!*
Ye Chaosheng's face contorted with rage, and he abruptly swung his hand.
Why did you hit me with a wooden sword?
Shunzai's tone was somewhat excited, as if he had finally found the right way to teach Ye Chaosheng to read: "Let me teach you a lesson, this character is pronounced 'lei'."
She pointed to another word: "What about this one?"
"...Your Excellency?"
"Hmm? Give me your hand!"
Ye Chaosheng quickly corrected himself: "Uh...dizzy?"
"Snapped!"
The woman smiled and casually turned another page.
"Read 'Zun' (尊)."
Ye Chaosheng exclaimed in surprise, "I was right, and you still hit me!"
"You're guessing; you're not even sure yourself. Keep going!"
A moment later, Ye Chaosheng, whose hand was almost swollen from being whipped, finally came to his senses and quickly dodged a foot away.
"Senior sister, you deliberately asked me these similar-looking characters just to slap me!"
Shunzai held the wooden sword with obvious delight, then sneered, "Did I force you to learn?"
Ye Chao was angry and anxious, but finally sighed, "...Senior sister, I was wrong, could you be gentler?"
"Hands out!"
……
As evening approached, Shunzai rubbed his temples, looking rather annoyed, and said, "Alright, write your name twice more and that's it for today."
Seeing Ye Chaosheng writing in a dog-like manner on the ground, she took a couple of deep breaths, gulped down two mouthfuls of tea, and only then did she feel like she had come back to life.
"Don't fall asleep later. The moon is full tonight, and Master is rarely in the mood to preach. It would be beneficial to go and listen."
"Preaching? What can he preach about?" Ye Chaosheng turned around with some curiosity and saw Shunzai pick up the wooden sword again, and quickly lowered his head to continue gesturing on the ground.
Ye Chaosheng had been on the island for almost three months. Every time Yueman wanted to go to the cave, he was told that his master was in seclusion. He had never heard his master preach, so he was quite curious.
The woman behind him said casually, "It'll probably be similar to before, talking about the key points of fetal breathing cultivation, what kind of qi to cultivate, and some water and fire that I heard about somewhere. Just listen to whatever you want except for the key points of fetal breathing."
"Why? Master is only at the Qi Refining stage; shouldn't he know a lot?"
The woman behind him fell silent, then leaned close to Ye Chaosheng, whispered in his ear, her tone enigmatic: "Master hasn't left the island in a long time. He's afraid, and sometimes what he says doesn't make sense..."
"He...has gotten old!"
"Senior sister... what... do you mean?"
Shunzai did not reply, but got up and left.
