The Secret of Second Marriage

Back in my room at the Hengdian Hotel, I was greeted by the familiar decor: a large white bed, blue curtains and floor-to-ceiling windows, and a coffee table. The room was very clean and tidy.

There wasn't much furniture; it was clearly furnished like a hotel...

I inserted the room card into the sensor at the entrance, and all the lights in the room turned on, including the lights in the toilet and bathroom.

I took a shower, dried my hair, and lay in bed. My tense nerves finally relaxed.

In Yunnan, I always felt my heart was in my throat. When I returned to the familiar Hengdian and lay on the big bed, I was immediately overcome with sleepiness. In my drowsy state, I knew that after two days and two nights of wandering, I could finally get a comfortable and peaceful sleep.

I slept soundly until the early hours of the morning, and didn't wake up until my alarm went off at around 6 a.m. I only slept for a little over two hours, I was so sleepy.

I still struggled to get up, brushed my teeth and washed my face, and then drove to the Hengdian film set.

As the morning sun peeked out from the horizon with a faint red glow, I was already in the dressing room putting on my makeup.

The makeup artist looked at me with surprise and said, "Sis, you're here so early!"

I said politely.

Makeup artist Xiaomei whispered to me, "Sis, while you were here these past two days, there's been some shocking gossip on set. Did you know? Tang Xueyan, the actress who slapped you last time, got slapped herself!"

"By whom?"

I asked out of curiosity.

Xiaomei looked left and right and whispered in my ear: "I heard that the wife of a sugar daddy came all the way from Beijing to Hengdian Film Studio, slapped her hard a few times, and warned her to stay away from her husband, otherwise she would be ruined next time."

Those slaps were really hard; now she can't be arrogant on set anymore.

"Who told her to look down on everyone all the time, bullying this person and that person, looking down on new actors, and even looking down on us makeup artists..."

I listened to the gossip and felt that fortune really does come in cycles.

I went to film a movie.

After being warned, Tang Xueyan was out of sorts. Apart from filming, she spent most of her time hiding in her RV, almost never seen, looking quite disheveled.

She no longer has time to pick fights with me.

The sugar daddy's wife discovered her relationship with him and stormed all the way from Beijing to the Hengdian film set. In front of the entire crew, she slapped her several times and told her that she would bear the consequences of being a mistress!

I didn't understand what that sentence meant at the time. Less than three days later, the investors notified us that the female lead had been replaced, and the entertainment company announced that Tang Xueyan would be indefinitely suspended from acting, and no film or television company would ever hire her again.

Three days later, I saw Tang Xueyan crying and pleading with the director. She promised to film well and not act like a diva anymore. She begged the director to give her another chance to continue acting, saying she really loved her job.

But the director just coldly told her to leave, and that it was the investors' opinion, and there was nothing he could do about it.

Tang Xueyan's face turned sharp with anger as she questioned the director: "Director, you're so biased. Why did you protect Jiang Man, that new actress, so fiercely when President Xia wanted the crew to replace her last time?"

"I'm a film queen, my acting skills are far superior to hers, why can't you help me?"

The director said, "At least, Jiang Man's character is fine. Besides, President Xia is just the owner of a jewelry company. Although he is very rich, there are many rich people in this world."

Miss Tang, you're different. You've offended a powerful figure you can't afford to offend. That lady has power; with a single word, the film can be banned. We can't take that risk for you!

Tang Xueyan packed her bags and left the film crew in tears. As she left, she glanced at me with eyes full of hatred: "Jiang Man, are you satisfied now? Shen Xing warned me for your sake. That man, President Jiang, sent the photos of me and Mr. Zhuo to his wife after he found out you were beaten."

"You're so smug about blacklisting me now, aren't you? Let me tell you, your day will come sooner or later. I'm waiting to kick you when you're down and see you make a fool of yourself."
