Demon, come and cultivate for me.
Chapter 46 Tribulation
Chen Xiangzi was originally from the State of Chu, and his family lived on the southwestern border of Chu.
His uncle set off from his hometown northwards and disappeared without a trace more than a decade later.
Until a year ago, the family received a letter from this uncle.
In his letter, he said that he was dying and had no hope of returning home. He hoped that some of his clansmen would come to the State of Yan in the future and bury his remains back in his hometown.
Chen Xiangzi came to the State of Yan to bring his uncle's remains back to his hometown for burial, and also to find the "Map of Mountains and Seas".
The Chen family was a small, humble household, with most of its members making a living by farming. The travel expenses they could gather for Chen Xiangzi were extremely limited. By the time they arrived in the State of Yan, they had not yet found a burial place for their uncle and were already penniless.
Hearing that the Yan Kingdom treated martial artists very well, Chen Xiangzi participated in the government's martial arts examination and was registered as a martial artist.
To his surprise, the Crown Prince of Yan summoned him to the capital for some unknown reason.
So he went to the capital alone, and by chance, he met Zhou Chu and his group in Black Wind Valley.
The stone box that appeared here is almost identical to the one in his uncle's hand. Could it be that his uncle lived here back then?
Chen Xiangzi snapped out of his thoughts, picked up the jade box, and wanted to open it to see if it contained the Mountain and Sea Map.
The stone box was a single, seamless piece, and he examined it from every angle, but still couldn't find a way to open it.
There is an irregularly shaped indentation in the shape of a key on the top of the stone box, which is probably the key to opening the stone box.
He searched every niche, throwing the books and objects on it all over the floor, but still found nothing.
"Are you looking for the key?" the weasel asked.
"Um."
"It's not here."
"Do you know where the key is?"
"The mad Taoist gave the key to his apprentice."
"The Mad Taoist?" Chen Xiangzi thought of his uncle, who was also somewhat eccentric, which further confirmed his suspicions.
Where did they go?
"He wanted to kill his apprentice, but for some reason he didn't and even let his apprentice go," the weasel answered truthfully.
After saying that, the weasel pointed to the passageway outside and said, "After his apprentice left, he went inside with the mountain lord and never came out again."
"Sigh~" Chen Xiangzi sighed, thinking that his uncle must have already fallen into the belly of the mountain lord and his body was gone.
Chen Xiangzi didn't have much affection for this uncle, but the fact that he couldn't return to his ancestral home after his death is ultimately a sad story.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The thunder grew louder and more frequent, the ground began to tremble violently, and pebbles fell from overhead from time to time.
"Oh no, this place is going to collapse! Where can we get out?" Chen Xiangzi asked.
The weasel pointed to the stone bed and then buried its head to hide.
At this moment, Xie Qi had recovered slightly, but was not yet fully conscious. He stared blankly at the falling rubble, motionless.
"How do we get out?" The stone bed was a huge rock that Chen Xiangzi couldn't move or break.
boom!
A huge object smashed a large hole in the cave wall, raising a cloud of dust.
Chen Xiangzi covered his mouth with one hand to suppress a cough, and waved away the dust in front of him with the other.
It was a tiger that crashed in! It lay motionless on the ground, its condition unknown.
On the other side of the cave entrance, Zhou Chu was struggling to get up from the ground.
Startled by the loud noise, Xie Qi rushed to Zhou Chu's side and helped him up.
"Come quickly, there's only one exit here, we need to move this stone bed!" Chen Xiangzi shouted.
"I'll do it." Zhou Chu pushed away Xie Qi, who was helping him, and quickly stepped forward.
Thanks to the effect of the Tai Xu Wu Xiang Diagram, Zhou Chu's body recovered quickly, and his true energy was restored to its fullness.
Xie Qi, standing to the side, secretly clicked his tongue in amazement. Was this even human? He recovered so quickly.
Zhou Chu channeled his inner energy and slammed his fist onto the stone bed.
The heavy, solid stone bed shattered into pieces in an instant.
Xie Qi stepped forward to help Zhou Chu clear away the rubble, and sure enough, there was an entrance underneath.
Zhou Chu jumped without hesitation. Xie Qi followed, and Chen Xiangzi was the last to jump.
Below was a natural, maze-like cave. The three of them wandered around for a long time before finally returning to their starting point.
"A ghost wall?" Chen Xiangzi asked doubtfully.
"No, this is still a formation." Zhou Chu shook his head.
Chen Xiangzi felt a headache coming on as soon as he saw the formation: "Can it be broken?"
This formation is quite sophisticated; Zhou Chu couldn't immediately discern what materials the person who set it up used.
The tremors grew stronger, and pieces of rock continued to fall.
For peak martial artists, the damage from a rock hitting their head is negligible, but the three of them still instinctively covered their heads.
The formation the mountain lord used to avoid the lightning tribulation has been broken; it's only a matter of time before he's struck dead by lightning.
The biggest problem for the three of them right now is how to get out.
Zhou Chu thought of the teleportation array.
"Gather around me, and I'll use an array to get out." Zhou Chu acted immediately, condensing chess pieces and casting a teleportation array.
This was his first time using a teleportation array, and it was even within an array set up by someone else; he didn't know if it would be effective.
Once the teleportation array was set up, the surrounding scenery began to change.
At this moment, the mountain king also ran over and watched as the three figures flashed and disappeared from the spot.
"What is this?" Chen Xiangzi felt the scenery around him sway and he found himself in another place.
However, the surrounding area remained a maze-like, irregular passageway, and the three people were not teleported out.
Zhou Chu's worries were justified; trapped in someone else's formation, he couldn't escape using a teleportation array.
Boom!
Deafening thunder roared all around again.
Without a second thought, the three knew that the mountain god had also come down and attracted the heavenly lightning.
Immediately following was a series of continuous thunderclaps, and the ground shook violently all around.
The three of them lost their balance and quickly grabbed the mountain wall to steady themselves.
"Look! The mountain has cracked!" Chen Xiangzi exclaimed, pointing upwards.
Upon hearing this, Zhou Chu looked up and saw that an infinitely long crack had indeed appeared above his head, and a corresponding crack had appeared beneath his feet.
Is this the power of heavenly thunder? It can actually split a mountain in two!
Shan Jun realized that he had no way to avoid it and was doomed, so he focused all his resentment on Zhou Chu and the other two.
If it weren't for these three troublemakers, it would have already survived the Heavenly Tribulation and become a Great Demon of the Fourth Realm.
Shan Jun hardened his heart and vowed to capture Zhou Chu and the other two human warriors and make them pay with their lives.
Following the scent, the mountain lord quickly arrived in front of the three.
The cracks in the mountain grew wider and wider, and the three people and the tiger were separated by a chasm only half a meter wide.
The mountain tiger took a few steps back, then took a running start and suddenly leaped towards the three people on the other side of the chasm.
"I'll borrow your sword." Without further ado, Zhou Chu drew Xie Qi's precious sword and used the Tai Xu Sword Technique.
The instant the mountain lord landed, Zhou Chu wielded his sword and thrust it down from above.
This sword strike was extremely powerful, and the entire blade was embedded directly into the mountain king's back.
The mountain lord roared and continued running towards the three of them, clearly not fatally injured.
Zhou Chu controlled the sword to pull it away from the mountain lord's body, and then pierced it several more times in quick succession. Blood gushed from the mountain lord's body, but he still did not die.
Their movements slowed down, and their killing intent grew stronger.
"Is this beast unkillable?" Zhou Chu exclaimed in surprise.
"Impossible, it should have been dead when you struck with your first sword." Xie Qi said in disbelief.
