Physical mage, challenge me to a solo duel!

Chapter 18 Meeting the Principal

"Brother E! Brother E! Are you alright!"

Wang Yi felt as soon as he fell asleep, his body was pushed and shoved, and he could vaguely hear Qi Xiaohao's anxious voice.

"What kind of funeral rites are these, starting so early in the morning!" Wang Yi roared irritably, struggling to open his sleepy eyes, and sure enough, he saw Qi Xiaohao's chubby face.

However, seeing the anxiety and worry on Qi Xiaohao's face, Wang Yi suppressed his irritability from lack of sleep and asked, "What's wrong?"

"I thought you had... had an accident, Brother E." Qi Xiaohao breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Wang Yi had successfully woken up.

"What kind of accident could possibly happen?" Wang Yi said irritably.

But then he realized what was happening. The bedroom was a mess, with a bloodstained kitchen knife on the computer desk, drops of blood on the floor, and a mostly ruined magic crystal.

When these scenes are combined, it is indeed easy to recall his attempt to absorb magic last night, which repeatedly failed, leading him to cut his wrists in a fit of anger.

Given his prior record of jumping off a building, it seems like a perfectly reasonable deduction... what a load of rubbish!

Wang Yi rubbed his face vigorously and explained in a muffled voice, "This kitchen knife was used to test magic after absorbing it last night."

"What kind of magic requires a kitchen knife?" Qi Xiaohao asked incredulously.

"Medical Department." Wang Yi picked up his phone and saw that it was already 7:30 in the morning. Qi Xiaohao must have come to call him to school.

Wang Yi was not surprised that Qi Xiaohao was able to get in.

The two were so close that they probably left their fingerprints long ago, let alone the door password.

After getting up and washing his face, Wang Yi finally felt much more awake.

Qi Xiaohao followed Wang Yi excitedly, asking, "Brother E, did you really absorb medical magic?"

"If you don't believe me, cut yourself, and I'll treat you right here." After wiping his face, Wang Yi casually stroked his blond hair in front of the mirror with some disgust, and didn't forget to say this to Qi Xiaohao.

"No need, no need, Brother E, how could I not trust you!" Qi Xiaohao glanced at the dried bloodstains on the cleaver and shrank back.

"Let's go to school." After quickly getting ready, Wang Yi and Qi Xiaohao went to school together.

Before leaving, Wang Yi hesitated for a moment, but still put the precious high-level magic crystal into his pocket.

"Brother E, which magic did you absorb?" Qi Xiaohao continued to ask tirelessly along the way.

"Common-grade Healing Spell." Wang Yi didn't tell Qi Xiaohao that he had absorbed four spells: "I've discovered that I absorb healing spells quite easily. Maybe I'll become a healer in the future."

"That works too. I'll be the main damage dealer, and you, E-ge, will be the healer. Let's team up and conquer the Abyss!" Qi Xiaohao thumped his chest, full of ambition.

Wang Yi remained noncommittal, only inwardly marveling at the young man's lofty ambitions.

The two chatted along the way and arrived at the school in about ten minutes. Wang Yi immediately went into the cafeteria and swiped his card to eat.

He doesn't start his morning reading until 8 a.m., so he still has ten minutes to eat.

With a schedule of 8 am to 6 pm, it's so relaxed that it doesn't seem like a high school student's schedule at all.

After the storm had passed, Wang Yi wiped his mouth with satisfaction and headed to the office building.

The principal's office is on the fourth floor of the office building. Wang Yi had already checked the school's information last night.

Arriving at the principal's office just in time, Wang Yi took a deep breath to calm his nerves.

After considering the potential problems that might arise, Wang Yi prepared to knock on the door, then rubbed his face, adopting a somewhat fearful yet defiant expression.

"Knock knock knock!"

"Please come in."

A deep voice rang out, and Wang Yi pushed open the wooden door, immediately seeing the old man sitting behind the desk reading documents.

Wang Yi bowed slightly: "Hello, Principal. I'm Wang Yi. Your homeroom teacher said you were looking for me?"

Upon hearing the sound, Bai Jingting looked up and took in Wang Yi's appearance and expression.

With a kind smile on his face, Bai Jingting waved to Wang Yi: "Wang Yi, come in."

Wang Yi stepped into the office, then casually closed the door and stood loosely in front of Bai Jingting's desk.

Bai Jingting subtly closed the document in his hand, placed it aside, and pointed to the wooden chair next to him, saying, "Sit down."

Wang Yi readily agreed, walked to the wooden chair, sat down, leaned back, crossed his legs, and then quickly put them back down: "Principal, is there something you need from me?"

"Such a big thing happened at the school. If I, as the principal, didn't care, wouldn't that be too irresponsible?" Bai Jingting said with a smile, his tone somewhat joking.

An awkward expression flashed across Wang Yi's face. He then scratched his head, placed his hands on his lap, and looked somewhat embarrassed, unsure of how to respond.

Fortunately, Bai Jingting quickly spoke up again and asked, "Wang Yi, why did you choose to jump off the building? If you were wronged or bullied, you can tell me. Whether the other party is a student or a teacher, I will investigate and take appropriate action."

"No, no, no one bullied me." Wang Yi lowered his head somewhat embarrassedly, then said, "I was just half asleep and thought I was still dreaming, so I tried to wake myself up, but who knew..."

Upon hearing Wang Yi's explanation, Bai Jingting couldn't help but chuckle.

Although it's bizarre, it's surprisingly reasonable.

"I heard your magic studies aren't going well?" Bai Jingting subtly changed the subject.

"It is a bit difficult." Wang Yi looked a little embarrassed, then quickly added, "Maybe it's because I used to focus too much on offensive magic. Now I'm preparing to try other types, maybe I can make some progress."

"That's right, don't be discouraged. It's good to try other paths. You can't always put all your eggs in one basket," Bai Jingting said meaningfully.

"Yes, yes, I will definitely listen to the principal and try different trees." Wang Yi's heart skipped a beat, and he nodded hurriedly.

Why does this principal seem to be implying something?

Just as Wang Yi was pondering, a faint voice suddenly reached his ears, penetrating straight into his soul.

"Wang Yi!"

Wang Yi's eyes were lifeless, and her expression was blank.

Bai Jingting quietly cast a divine-grade mental magic spell: Hypnosis.

After seeing that Wang Yi had been successfully hypnotized, Bai Jingting went straight to the point and asked questions, adding another legendary-grade mental magic spell: Mantra.

Would you betray humanity?

"Won't."

Would you betray China?

"Won't."

"Who exactly are you?"

"Wang Yi".

The question-and-answer session proceeded smoothly without any interruptions.

Bai Jingting relaxed a lot: "Forget about the three questions from earlier, you're just a little sleepy."

"Wang Yi?" The principal's voice came from beside him, drawing Wang Yi's attention back.

"Principal." Wang Yi quickly focused his attention.

Having just eaten and lacking sleep last night, he was so sleepy that he drifted off into a daze.

Bai Jingting said, "Our school still has one scholarship spot left for the second semester. If you need it, you can consider applying."

"Thank you for your guidance, Principal. I will definitely study hard and bring honor to the school." Wang Yi breathed a slight sigh of relief, and then, imitating Qi Xiaohao, patted his chest and made a promise.

Bai Jingting smiled slightly upon hearing this: "There's no need for such pressure. However, as mages, since we possess superhuman strength, we must naturally be willing to shoulder greater responsibilities. At the same time, we must also be mindful of our words and actions..."

Bai Jingting subconsciously began to lecture, but to his surprise, Wang Yi's eyes lit up upon hearing this. He then gritted his teeth, seemingly having made a great decision, and finally said somewhat reluctantly:

"I understand, Principal. Don't worry, I will definitely pay attention to my appearance and I will dye my hair back today."

Bai Jingting coughed lightly, feeling a little strange. Was that what I meant?
