The preliminary rounds of the Magic High School World League are group stages, while the main tournament is a qualifying round.

In the preliminary round, all participating teams were randomly drawn into a total of 32 groups, with eight teams in each group.

The eight teams in each group will compete in three rounds, a total of ten matches, to determine the two teams that will advance to the main tournament, while the rest will be eliminated.

In other words, there are a total of 64 teams in the main competition.

The first round of the preliminary group stage is a best-of-three series, in which eight teams are randomly matched to play against each other in four matches to determine the winners and losers, with four teams in each group.

Each match lasts one hour, with eight venues competing simultaneously in numerical order of their respective groups. Match times are from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM local time.

In other words, each venue can host eight games a day, for a total of sixty-four games.

The preliminary rounds are also the most intense part of the competition, with ticket holders able to watch eight shows a day.

The teams competing in each venue will be announced in advance.

Because Beijiang Magic University was placed in Group 26, and it was the third of the four matches in the first round, the match was scheduled for later, as it was the last match on the morning of the second day, in Venue A2.

Fortunately, there aren't any particularly famous or strong teams in the 26 groups. The only ones we need to be wary of are probably the Siberian Magic University from Russia and the Royal University of Magic Newcastle from the Nordic Union.

These two universities are probably among the top-tier magic universities in China.

Beijiang Magic University was matched with an opponent from Chennai Magic University in India, which, by comparison, is roughly considered to be at the bottom of the list of top-tier magic universities in China.

As for the remaining four teams, they were really mediocre, so let's not even mention them.

On the first day of the competition, Jiang Yue and the others split up to check on the situation of some teams.

Of course, this is only the first round of the preliminary rounds. Many strong teams are holding back, as long as they can win. Not many teams are willing to reveal their trump cards and fully expose their strength.

Because each group has two qualifying spots, even if a strong team is unlucky enough to be matched with another strong team, they are not so obsessed with winning or losing.
