The sky was dark and drizzling.

In a small town in northeastern Beimian, rows of low, old buildings stand, and perhaps because of the rain, there are not many people on the streets.

Inside the factory's steel shed with its gates tightly shut, a group of people were smoking and shouting loudly at several tables.

The table was covered with mahjong tiles, dominoes, dice cups, playing cards, and stacks of paper, pens, and chips, indicating a variety of entertainment options.

In the very center of the factory's steel shed stands a large, heavily fortified safe house, its architectural style strikingly different from its surroundings.

Squeak! Squeak!

The heavy metal door of the safe house had a lock disc that turned like a steering wheel, and although the sound it made wasn't very loud, it quickly attracted the attention of the people around.

The men immediately fell silent, some drawing pistols from their waists, others taking long knives from beside the table legs, and a few even raising automatic rifles and aiming them at the door's rotating lock.

boom!

A few seconds later, the lock engaged, and the heavy metal door was slowly pushed open.

Amidst the tense gazes of the crowd, a figure emerged from the main gate.

"Damn, Ninth Brother, you scared the hell out of me."

A middle-aged man in the crowd, wearing a floral shirt with an open collar, dyed blond hair, a large gold chain around his neck, and smoking a cigarette, immediately relaxed when he saw the figure emerging from the metal door. He tucked his pistol back into his waistband and then cursed.

"Weren't you supposed to be out for another ten days or so? Why did you come out early?"

A middle-aged man in a suit rushed out of the metal gate first, followed by two more.

Through the crack in the door, one could vaguely see the Starry Gate slowly rotating inside the room.

The middle-aged man, known as "Old Nine," looked around but didn't see any suspicious faces in the factory, and these people seemed no different from usual.

Old Nine frowned and asked the blond-haired leader:

"Nothing came out just now?"

"What else is there besides you guys?" The blond-haired man shook his head. "There are so many eyes watching."

"Could I be seeing things?" A hint of doubt arose in Lao Jiu's mind, but he still decided to trust his eyes.

"I want to see the surveillance footage."

"Ninth Brother, you really don't trust your brothers?" Yellow Hair's face showed a hint of displeasure, but he still waved his hand: "Let's see, let's go to the monitoring room."

Old Nine turned around and said something to a man in a suit behind him, and then that man went back to the safe house and re-entered the interdimensional passage.

Afterwards, the group headed straight for the small room in the monitoring room. Since the monitoring room was not big enough, only Lao Jiu and Huang Mao each took two people inside.

The monitoring room contains several screens displaying footage from outside the factory, inside the factory, and inside the safe room.

At this moment, a person was lying on the seat, with a hat covering their face, seemingly taking a nap.

Seeing this, the blond-haired man felt that his underlings had embarrassed him, so he went up and slapped him.

"Sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep my ass!"

With that slap, the blond-haired man ripped the hat off the man's face and knocked his head to one side.

But the person did not wake up.

Something's not right!

Old Nine's expression changed, and he hurriedly stepped forward to touch the man's neck, then slapped him twice across the face, but the man still did not wake up.

So Lao Jiu said, "He's not dead, but he's passed out."

"The surveillance hard drive is missing!"

At this moment, one of the blond-haired henchmen exclaimed in surprise.

Huang Mao pushed aside his underlings and saw that, sure enough, the place where the hard drive used to be was now empty.

Old Nine immediately asked, "Is there a cloud backup of the surveillance footage?"

"Brother, what do you think this place is? Cloud backup? Are you waiting to be hacked and leave evidence for the higher-ups? All the computers in the monitoring room are offline, and there's even a one-click wipe function."

The blond-haired man also became anxious: "What on earth happened?"

"I think I just saw a dark figure emerge from the interdimensional passage," Old Nine said. "It was fleeting, probably some kind of spatial magic. I don't know if it was a human or a magical beast, but since they took the surveillance hard drive, it seems to be a human without a doubt."

"What the hell? Spatial magic?" The blond-haired man was shocked. "People? Who? Everyone who went in this time was approved by Mr. Chong. Forget about whether there were any undercover agents, even if there were, would such a trivial matter as ours be worth a grand mage who knows spatial magic going undercover?"

"Stop talking nonsense. If you have that kind of strength, wouldn't it be better to just kill us?"

Old Jiu was also confused about what was going on, but the missing surveillance hard drive proved that the matter was not fake.

Just then, the person Lao Jiu had just instructed returned.

"Ninth Brother, I counted twice, and no one is missing."

Hearing this, Lao Jiu was even more confused. There were still people inside, which meant they weren't from their group.

But if it wasn't an undercover agent, where did that person come from?

There's a person out of nowhere, it's fucking haunted.

Old Nine thought for a moment, then asked Yellow Hair, "Is the stuff on the hard drive dangerous?"

"It's nothing now. The hard drive storing surveillance footage is only temporary. It's overwritten every three days. No new ones have been delivered this week, so the hard drive has been overwritten several times. We can't find anything useful."

"That's strange." Old Jiu frowned, but he was slightly relieved to hear that the contents of the hard drive were fine.

"I'm going to report to my superiors now. You keep an eye on the gate."

Old Jiu grabbed the unconscious surveillance personnel and then left the factory with several of his men.

"Damn it, everyone be alert and keep watch. What the hell is this?"

After Lao Jiu left, Huang Mao couldn't help but curse a few times, kicked over several of his underlings, cleared away the gambling table, and began to work diligently.

However, when Huang Mao thought of the great mage who could use space magic that Lao Jiu had mentioned, he couldn't help but feel a little cramp in his legs.

Killing such a powerful mage should be as easy as crushing a chick, right?

It turns out that I had just unknowingly walked through the gates of hell.

Sure enough, I can't stay in this line of work for long; I'd better think of making my way out early.

At this moment, Wang Yi had no idea that his actions had completely terrified these guys.

The reason he took the surveillance hard drive was simply to prevent people from knowing that he had come out of the interdimensional passage.

As for someone seeing it, it's just hearsay, and who would believe it?

Of course, a safer approach would be to kill all of them and then capture and release a few monsters.

This was done so quietly, it was just a simple Warcraft prison break incident, which was commonplace in these small countries with insufficient strength, and no one would bother to investigate it further.

However, Wang Yi couldn't do such a thing yet. Although these guys didn't seem like good people, Wang Yi couldn't just kill them based on his feelings alone.

On the rooftop three kilometers from the factory, he took out his phone from the virtual world.

Fine raindrops fell in a downpour, but Wang Yi used his soul power to isolate them, not a drop of rain touching him.

First, he located the location, and then Wang Yi made a video call.

"Uncle Xu, it's me. Yes, I'm back. I'm in Beimian now. You can tell, yes, it's definitely a clone. My real body is still hunting in the magic world. Oh, don't worry, I'll be home in an hour or two. I'll tell you the details then. Okay, I'll hang up now. I'm going to call Xiao Hao."

"Xiao Hao... Hey, everyone's here."
