From humble beginnings to the pinnacle of life

I was both amused and exasperated by her childlike behavior, and gently shook my head, saying, "Don't overthink it with prejudice. She was just genuinely praising the performance of the off-road vehicle."

Su Qing rolled her eyes dismissively and shut her mouth, saying no more.

Wang Ge then turned to look at our group and asked, "Are you all planning to go back to the hotel now, or go out for a stroll for a while?"

The long journey to the plateau had exhausted me, and all I wanted to do was go back to my lodgings and lie down to rest.

Before I could even reply, Su Qing spoke first: "You guys go back and rest first, Lin Ye and I will wander around."

I glanced at her in surprise, then said helplessly, "Why do you have to drag me along? Can't you just go for a walk by yourself?"

I just found it hilarious: "So you're treating me like a free bodyguard who's always at your beck and call?"

She raised her chin, her tone firm: "Stop talking nonsense, are you going to spend time with me or not?"

"Do I still have the option to refuse?"

I sighed softly and turned to Wang Ge, saying, "You guys go back to the guesthouse first, I'll accompany her for a walk outside for a while."

Wang Ge nodded in agreement, then turned to Su Wan and said, "Then let's go back to the hotel first. I've already notified the front desk to reserve your room. You can go over and check in."

Su Wan nodded slightly, turned around and got into the driver's seat of the Mercedes-Benz G63, and said to Wang Ge:

"Please get in the car and lead the way; I don't know the location of the guesthouse."

Watching Wang Ge and the other three get into Su Wan's Mercedes-Benz G-Class and slowly drive away, Su Qing immediately pouted and muttered under her breath, her face full of displeasure.

Did you hear what she just said about not holding the team back? The proud woman she used to be would never have said something like that."

"So it seems she really wants to join this time travel trip," I replied casually.

Su Qing stopped and looked at me seriously, saying, "Something's not right. I have a feeling she has ulterior motives."

"If you can't let it go, just ask her directly when you get back. Why keep guessing here?"

Su Qing chuckled helplessly, "Asking is a waste of time. If she's made up her mind not to talk about it, no amount of pressing her will change anything."

"That's settled then. Just mind your own business and don't bother trying to figure out what she's thinking."

"I'm just curious, could it be that she's eyeing our livestream's traffic and planning to ride our coattails?"

Deep down, she was always competing with her sister. The more a person lacks something, the more they care about it and the more eager they are to prove themselves. Su Qing was in this state.

I took a deep drag of my cigarette and said seriously, "Don't keep getting stuck on this. You're no less capable than Su Wan. You have your own unique strengths."

Hearing these comforting words, Su Qing's face instantly relaxed, and she nodded with satisfaction: "You really know how to talk. I love hearing this kind of thing."

"Your mind changes so quickly. This morning before we left you were praising Wang Ge for being reliable, and now you've changed your mind?"

I shook my head helplessly and chuckled, deciding to stop arguing with her.

The two continued walking along the road when Su Qing suddenly stopped, clutching her lower abdomen tightly with one hand, a look of discomfort on her face.

"Um, are there any public restrooms nearby?"

I stopped joking and glanced at the internet cafe with its lights on not far ahead. I immediately said, "Come with me."

Su Qing walked quickly, rushing forward, and I followed closely behind, leading her into the internet cafe.

Without saying a word, she rushed into the room.

I sighed and went to the front desk to buy a pack of tissues.

When I got to the restroom door, I suddenly realized that there were separate men's and women's restrooms.

I had no choice but to send another message: "This is the women's restroom, how am I, a guy, supposed to go in?"
