On the fourth day, Niannian suggested going to the amusement park.

She woke everyone up early in the morning, saying she heard that a new amusement park had opened in the west of the city, with a Ferris wheel and a roller coaster.

Xiao Jin was the first to respond. She tied her shoelaces haphazardly and ran outside, only to be called back by Niannian to wait for the others.

Qiqi sat on the steps, yawning, while Qianqian combed her hair beside her.

Luo Nannan had no concept of the word "amusement park," but from Niannian's tone, it seemed like a place worth visiting, so she changed her clothes.

Venerable Kumu put down his teacup, stood up, and followed behind the group.

He wore an old dark gray jacket today, which Niannian picked out for him at the secondhand clothing store yesterday, replacing his gray robe.

There were many people at the entrance of the amusement park, with queues forming at the ticket windows.

The train on the track was speeding through a bend, and the people on board were screaming in unison.

Luo Nannan's gaze followed the car until it disappeared at the end of the track.

Niannian turned around and called to her, "Come on up! Try sitting here first!"

Luo Nannan hesitated for a moment, but still went over.

Niannian pressed her back into the seat and said, "Don't be afraid, it'll be over in a minute," and then lowered the safety lever.

Luo Nannan gripped the lever with both hands, her knuckles turning slightly white.

As the train began to climb, she looked up at the increasingly steep incline of the track and remained silent.

The car stopped briefly at the highest point, then suddenly plunged down.

As the car flipped, spun, and plunged on the tracks, her expression gradually relaxed from tense.

When the car returned to the starting point, she released the lever, her hair was messy, but she smiled.

The smile was faint, but it was definitely a smile.

Niannian jumped down from the side and patted her on the shoulder: "How was it? Exciting, wasn't it?"

So they sat down again.

Qiqi was too scared to ride the roller coaster, so she dragged Qianqian to ride the carousel instead.

She chose a white wooden horse, and Qianqian sat on the golden one next to her.

Qianqian sat beside her, holding onto the rocking horse with one hand, her posture calm and composed, her long silver hair swaying gently in the sunlight.

Xiao Jin tried out all the rides in the amusement park, going on the most thrilling ones, and afterwards said they were just so-so.

After getting off the roller coaster, Luo Nannan tried the drop tower. She didn't scream when she fell from the height. She only breathed a sigh of relief when she hit the bottom and said, "This one is not bad."

Niannian laughed and said, "You're even fiercer than Xiao Jin."

We had lunch at the amusement park.

Niannian bought a big bucket of popcorn and held it in her arms. Qiqi grabbed a handful and stuffed it into her mouth. Luo Nannan also grabbed a handful and looked down at the shape of the popcorn.

She glanced at Niannian again, who said to just eat it directly. Luo Nannan put a whole one in her mouth, chewed it a couple of times, and looked a little surprised: "Sweet?"

"Popcorn is sweet by nature."

Luo Nannan grabbed another handful.

The Venerable Drywood didn't participate in any activities. He sat on a bench under a tree with a glass of lemonade he had bought from a roadside stall in front of him.

He didn't drink; he just watched the people coming and going.

Niannian brought him a meal and handed it to him. He took it, placed it on his lap, and ate slowly, watching the carousel and children running around in the distance as he ate.

His gaze was calm, not like he was watching a spectacle, but rather like he was looking at something he hadn't seen in a long time, something that needed to be examined slowly to be truly appreciated.

In the afternoon, they rode the Ferris wheel. As the carriage slowly rose, the outline of the entire city unfolded in their field of vision.

Luo Nannan pressed her face against the glass, looking outside. Niannian sat next to her and said:

"How is it? Pretty, right?"

Luo Nannan didn't turn her head; her gaze remained fixed on the distant horizon. After a long while, she finally spoke:

"It looks beautiful, even farther than what I saw yesterday."

When the Ferris wheel reached its highest point, Xiaoxiao pointed in a distant direction and said:

Niannian looked in the direction she was pointing and indeed saw a blurry outline.

Luo Nannan saw it too. She looked at it for a while and then said, "It's quite close."

The carriage slowly descended, and after landing, Luo Nannan was the first to jump out, turning around to wait for the others to get off.

When we came out of the amusement park in the evening, Qiqi was too tired to walk anymore. She fell asleep on Xiao Jin's back, her head resting on his shoulder.

Qianqian walked beside her, carrying a bubble-blowing toy that Qiqi had bought at the amusement park.

Niannian bought a cotton candy and tore it apart as she walked, eating it. Luo Nannan reached out and took a small piece that Niannian had torn off, put it in her mouth, and felt it melt in her mouth.

The Venerable Kumu walked behind, his pace similar to when he left in the morning, neither hurried nor slow.

He paused as he passed the ticket window at the entrance, glancing at the large poster hanging there, which depicted various amusement facilities and read "Welcome."
