Su Lang gently closed the bedroom door, listened at the door for a while, then turned and went upstairs.

The light in Jiang Chengzhou's room was still on.

Su Lang walked over and knocked on the door twice.

The door opened quickly, and Jiang Chengzhou peeked out from the crack. "Uncle, what are you doing up here?"

Su Lang pushed the door open, patted his head, sat down on the edge of Jiang Chengzhou's bed, leaned back, and lay down directly on it.

I'll sleep with you tonight.

"Did you make my aunt angry?" Jiang Chengzhou asked.

Su Lang glanced at him. "How could that be? Do you think your uncle is that kind of person?"

Jiang Chengzhou scoffed, "Who knows? Anyway, I don't want to sleep with you."

Su Lang raised an eyebrow. "What? Did I offend you?"

"Look at yourself, you're a grown man! There's no room left for me to lie down!"

The room upstairs was cleaned up later, and only a small bed was moved up. It was more than enough for Jiang Chengzhou to sleep alone, but it was really not enough with Su Lang in to sleep in it.

Su Lang's lips curled up, and instead of getting up, she changed to a more comfortable position.

Jiang Chengzhou was furious with his uncle and went forward to grab his arm.

Su Lang remained motionless, even resting his other hand behind his head, looking quite content.

Jiang Chengzhou released his grip. "I'm going to tell my aunt!"

"Hey, hey, hey," Su Lang sat up abruptly, grabbed Jiang Chengzhou's arm, and pulled him back. "Alright, alright, why are you always tattling?"

"You bullied me, so I'm going to tell on you! Let's see how my aunt deals with you!"

Su Lang clung to his shoulders. "Can't you be a little nicer to me? I only slept with you because I like you, why don't you appreciate it?"

Jiang Chengzhou got goosebumps and shoved his uncle's hand away. "Why are you saying such disgusting things?"

Su Lang's lips twitched.

He couldn't tell if Jiang Chengzhou was acting strangely lately.

Su Lang was already well aware of his dislike for him.

Su Lang decided to try a different way of communicating.

He patted the seat next to him. "Sit down, let's talk."

Jiang Chengzhou pulled up a chair and sat down opposite him.

Su Lang asked, "Are you tired after digging all day?"

"Not tired!" Jiang Chengzhou replied quickly.

Su Lang didn't expose him. "Stretch your legs out, I'll massage them for you, otherwise your legs will be so sore tomorrow you won't be able to stand up."

Jiang Chengzhou looked at him suspiciously.

"Didn't we agree to go to the fields together tomorrow?" Su Lang raised an eyebrow. "Trying to slack off?"

"No way, I'll press you then!" Jiang Chengzhou couldn't stand being provoked and stretched out his leg.

Su Lang rubbed his hands together and massaged the sore muscles in his legs.

He has a strong grip and strikes hard.

Jiang Chengzhou cried out in pain.

Linlin downstairs stopped her "prenatal education work," listened attentively for a while, and said, "Mom, my brother is calling."

Lin Zhilan heard it too.

Her brows furrowed slightly.

She asked Su Lang to go up and check on her eldest nephew. Would Su Lang secretly do something to the child instead of keeping his word?

Just then, another burst of laughter came from upstairs.

Then came screams and laughter...

The sounds rang out in turn.

"Mother?"

Linlin looked puzzled.

Lin Zhilan pulled her into her arms and kissed her forehead. "It's okay, they're slaughtering a pig outside, we don't care, let's go to sleep."

Linlin touched her mother's belly, and the little thing inside moved slightly, as if responding to her sister.

Linlin was content and snuggled into her mother's arms, falling asleep.

Upstairs, Su Lang did indeed take action.

When his palm pressed against Jiang Chengzhou's muscles, Jiang Chengzhou truly understood what it meant to feel sore and uncomfortable.

But every time he cried out that he wanted to complain or beg for mercy, Su Lang was afraid that Lin Zhilan would get angry and anxious, so she would tickle his ticklish spot, making him feel both pain and itchiness, experiencing both ice and fire.

After all that torture, the lactic acid buildup caused by Jiang Chengzhou's work was probably mostly gone.

But he was completely exhausted and almost collapsed there.

Even so, Jiang Chengzhou still grumbled, looking at his uncle with half-closed eyes, "You just wait, I'm going to tell my aunt tomorrow."

Su Lang pulled him up and carried him downstairs. "Jiang Chengzhou, how old are you? Why do you always complain?"

Jiang Chengzhou was speechless.

Why did he want to file a complaint?

He knew that only his aunt could control his uncle.

Once downstairs, Su Lang carried him directly to the bathroom. "Wait here, I'll go get you some warm water. You're all sweaty and stinky."

Jiang Chengzhou made a face at him, "I'll just wash it with cold water."

After he finished speaking, he quickly took off his clothes and stood directly under the tap to rinse them.

Su Lang pointed to Lin Zhilan's room, "You wait, I'll tell your aunt tomorrow."

Jiang Chengzhou retorted with his own words, "How old are you? What do you do all day? Tell on people!"

"Hey!" Su Lang laughed, "You little rascal!"

After sending Jiang Chengzhou upstairs to sleep after his bath, Su Lang took out the red beans she was going to soak for porridge the next morning.

When they returned to their room, the mother and daughter were already asleep.

Su Lang watched her daughter by the bed for a while, then carefully picked her up from the bed and took her back to her room.

As soon as she was put on the bed, Linlin whimpered. Su Lang quickly handed her her rag doll to hold and then gently patted her back.

Linlin quickly fell asleep again.

Su Lang turned on the table lamp and gently closed the door.

Back in her room, Lin Zhilan remained in the same position as before.

Su Lang took off his shoes and quietly lay down.

Lin Zhilan sensed something. Without opening her eyes, she leaned closer and nuzzled her head against his shoulder. "Did you hit Chengzhou?"

"No." Su Lang put his arm around her shoulder to make her more comfortable, and kissed her forehead. He said softly, "I just massaged his legs. Don't worry, sleep well."

Lin Zhilan's eyelids fluttered, her hand rested on his chest, her palm pressed against his heartbeat, and she fell asleep peacefully.

The next morning, just as the first rays of light shone through the window.

Su Lang's biological clock is more accurate than an alarm clock, and he woke up immediately.

He glanced at his wife.

Lin Zhilan was still asleep, her breathing steady.

Su Lang carefully pulled his arm out from under her neck as if defusing a bomb, then quietly got out of bed and tiptoed out of the bedroom.

The red beans soaked in water overnight last night have rehydrated.

Su Lang rinsed it twice with clean water, poured it into a clay pot, added rice and water, and cooked it together.

Footsteps came from upstairs.

Su Lang turned her head and saw Jiang Chengzhou coming downstairs, half asleep and half awake.

"Oh," Su Lang leaned against the door and laughed, "Young man, you got up early, and you keep your word."

When Jiang Chengzhou saw Su Lang, his face immediately fell. He snorted and yawned as he went to brush his teeth.

"No good deed goes unpunished," Su Lang followed closely behind him. "Are your legs still aching today?"
