Klein is a master of timing. Despite being only a second-level wizard apprentice, Klein's intuition for good and bad fortune is more than ten times stronger than that of an average third-level apprentice.

This is thanks to his astrological talent, which allows him to intuitively perceive the connections between things.

Simply put, he's a guy with an amazing focus.

The official wizarding leadership of the Mirror City Newspaper recognized this and recruited him. Furthermore, after Klein's repeated "meritorious service," they planned to recommend him to the Phase Academy located at the North and South Poles.

However, Klein made it clear that he refused.

A proud wolf can't change its nature of eating meat.

Go to the academy? Or that phase magic academy with a schedule denser than a star chart, where even sleeping counts for credits?

He'll never go. What's the point of wasting time playing house?

He intended to use his abilities and ambitions to promote the great cause of wizards.

...

At least, that's what he thought before today, before he got caught up in the Oasis Spider and a bunch of other strange things.

At this moment, Klein was sprawled on a stone pillar in the cave, his posture as wretched as a lizard's. He activated the magic circuit transplanted into his nose, and the phantom of a Kramer hound's tail materialized behind him. He swept this tail across the densely packed green dots on the rock wall, and several small spiders were swept off.

He originally used this trick to deal with mosquitoes in the wild. He never expected it to be so useful in a place like this.

One after another, lush green creatures emerged from the cracks in the rock face, from behind the stalactites overhead, and from the seemingly endless holes in the ground. Klein shifted on the stone pillar, trying to find a safer spot, but just as he managed to prop himself up, one of his magical tails was severed by an oasis spider that suddenly appeared from the side.

It hurts, it hurts so much.

Oh

It turns out to be the phantom pain of my magical tail!

Klein felt a sense of relief.

"Joe! Joe!"

"Joe, are you done yet?"

Below the cliff, Joe fought against a hundred men single-handedly. Using both hands and feet, he kicked away one of the green creatures that lunged at him, and said...

"Brother, I can't even protect myself."

His wheelchair is exceptionally powerful; it's not your average wheelchair.

This is a heavy-duty wheelchair that only cost enough to cover the modification fees under an endorsement contract.

He dashed through the spider swarm, his wheel hub covered in crushed carapace fragments and sticky yellowish-green fluid.

With Joe's abilities, and with the modified thigh and wheelchair he acquired by sacrificing all his possessions, he naturally thrived.

But the problem is never whether he will die; every second he fights increases the cost of his maintenance.

That's all his money; who could stand that? If it weren't for repaying Klein's favor of helping with the reporting a few days ago, he would have had to undergo rigorous evaluation before coming.

Joe gritted his teeth, pressed the red button on the armrest of his wheelchair with his left hand, and a burst of compressed gas shot out from the base of the wheelchair, propelling him into the air and briefly escaping the spiders' encirclement. He glanced at the battle in mid-air, leaped over the stone pillar, and caught the writhing Klein with one hand.

"Oh, Joe, you're really great."

...

Water dripping from the bottom of the rock wall

"Tick-tock"

"Tick-tock"

The two slowed down a bit.

A green creature emerged from the light at the cave entrance.

It was enormous, with a calm demeanor and more vibrant colors. It walked slowly and steadily, and the little spiders made way for it, its posture like that of a lion surveying its territory.

They are surrendering.

"Joe! Is this a special species? We've come at the worst possible time!"

"Wait, Klein, don't panic..."

Joe's gaze was fixed on the giant spider. He had another spell, called "Blessing of the Boiler Spirit." The casting material for this spell was a red cicada, obtained from the little iron man. A creation of pure elements, once combined with the magic power supply in his wheelchair, the resulting explosion within seconds would wipe out all the spiders in front of it.

The problem is, once this thing is used up, it has to be made again. And to make it again, we first need to obtain the soil from the Iron Man's homeland. But the Iron Man's homeland is deeper inside the cave. If we hand over the trump card here, what will happen when we go inside?

Qiao hesitated for a moment, then his fingers touched the pocket where the cicadas were kept.

But why does this thing look so familiar?

The lush green outline was covered with small red berries, blue specks of light, and damned blue lights that seemed to fly around like sticks.

How come he looks so much like his good comrade-in-arms?

Flying stick?

Joe blinked.

"You are... Lynn?"

"Lynn?" Klein struggled to turn around in Joe's arms, shaking off an oasis spider still clinging to his tail. The creature in front of him, covered in vines and with a transparent fluid flowing across its body, was simultaneously controlling several vines; compared to the oasis spiders, this guy's appearance wasn't much better.

Is this Lynn? How is that possible?

“If he is Lynn,” Klein said viciously, “then I am the Wizard God.”

What Qiao seemed to be pondering didn't happen; those who know everything shouldn't easily voice their judgments.

After a long silence, Klein sensed that something was wrong with the atmosphere.

"Um, I mean, I actually knew he was Lynn."

Lynn smiled and brushed aside the few stubbles that were blocking his face.

"Joe, you look good. Hello Klein, thanks for your help."

"Now, let me deal with this trouble first."

...

The next second, several blue lightning bolts lit up simultaneously from behind Lynn.

The sound of plop echoed between the rock walls.

Weak creatures have no chance of fighting back against flying sticks.

Lynn himself wasn't idle either. He grabbed the largest oasis spider, held its head by its carapace with one hand, and slammed it to the ground. He activated a freezing spell, and the frost formed from his magic flowed down the spider's skull into its abdominal cavity, freezing the middle of its carapace, which was likely its nerve center.

Then came a punch. A solid punch, the amplification of strength attribute was fully demonstrated in this punch, the spider's head carapace shattered into several pieces, and pale purple fluid splattered all over the ground.

"Joe!" Klein whispered, "He hasn't been modified, so how come his strength is about the same as your wheelchair?!"

"I was surprised too..." Joe murmured, "but he's Lynn. You know,"

Klein sniffed. No details reported? Joe's been hiding it pretty well.

Klein exclaimed in surprise:

"Huh? Did I miss reporting something?"

"It was a three-person feat accomplished by Lynn, Ruby, and me—"

Klein thought Joe might come up with something interesting.

It's the same old story again. Every time Joe tries to prove he has a wide circle of friends and is well-informed, he brings up his missions with Lynn and Ruby. But the facts don't need any explanation. If you ignore the self-destruct function of Joe's wheelchair and the one-time-use weapon, the Boiler Spirit, Lynn is stronger than Joe in every way.

While Joe was talking non-stop, Lynn had already cleaned up all the Oasis Spiders.

The flying sticks circled once above the cave, and after confirming that no one had escaped, they were retracted behind him one by one.

Joe finally realized he had forgotten to put Klein down from his arms.

He frantically loosened his grip, and Klein slid to the ground, dusting off his suit and trying to maintain a serious expression.

"Klein, how do you feel about what I've told you? Now you know the epic saga I've been through," Joe asked expectantly.

Klein rolled his eyes.

"Very good," he said. "Very right. Well—I mean, all right."

……

Lynn didn't join their banter. He stood beside the pile of dead oasis spiders.

The corpses of the oasis spiders were writhing and gathering together.

The largest oasis spider was only at the level of a second-level apprentice, with unremarkable magical fluctuations, and its life force had been completely reduced to zero when Lynn punched and shattered its head carapace.

Logically speaking, there shouldn't be any further momentum.

Having defeated the Oasis Spider, he should now begin to tally his spoils.

The guy in front of him has at least two abilities that Lynn really envies.

One is night vision, and the other is the perception of air.

They had already shown signs of wanting to escape before Lynn arrived.

But why is there no movement now?

Seeing Lynn's puzzled look, Klein shouted...

"Lynn, be careful, they're not spiders, they're a kind of plant aggregate that mimics crabs, and it's coalescing into a larger individual."

Lynn was stunned for a moment

Is this also crab-like?
