I'm really not a dragon.
Chapter 23 Have you ever been a dragon?
They actually mistook the hotel for a den.
Su En became increasingly curious about the pattern of the system's judgment. Could it be because this place was safe enough? Or was it simply a matter of whether it considered itself safe enough?
Suen felt the latter was more likely.
After all, safety is relative.
Considering that he would be busy investigating the killer for a considerable period of time, Suen marked the Frego Cheap Hotel as his hideout, because it was cheap enough that he would be a frequent visitor.
The moment the nest is determined
It was as if the fog in Su En's mind had cleared, like an open world igniting a teleportation point, allowing him to sense the location of the nest no matter which direction he was facing.
【Sun's Lair】
Location: Top of Schoomaz
[Nest effect, not yet unlocked]
Your loyal servant has sensed the location of the dragon's lair and embarked on a pilgrimage.
[Current number of returning servants: 1/37]
There are only a few rats left, so it seems the prison's rat eradication operation went very smoothly.
Suen was very grateful to the little guys who had helped him, but unfortunately he didn't have much money and couldn't afford to support a group of servants, so he could only make things difficult for the owner of the Frego cheap inn.
"Bang! Bang!"
Along with the knocking came the dwarf's unusually loud voice.
"Sword Coast people, are you ready?"
Su En pushed open the door, and the attire of the group surprised him.
The northern barbarian carried a bow and arrows on his back, with a finely polished hunting knife at his waist. With his broad back and wasp waist, he did have the air of a forest ranger.
As for the dwarves, their appearance was less appealing. Their hands and faces were covered in ink stains, and their eyes always seemed to be suspicious of everything, making them look like slaves who had just escaped from the mines.
"Let's go, everyone!"
Suen took the hunting knife handed to him by the barbarian and walked downstairs.
The dwarf frowned; he felt that something about Suen had changed.
He raised his arm and elbowed the barbarian's knee. "Don't you think there's something different about him?"
The northern barbarian nodded solemnly; he had a similar feeling.
"I think he's become even more 'handsome'."
"hiss!"
The dwarf immediately gave him a disgusted look. "I didn't know you had this kind of fetish! Stay away from me!"
"That's not what I meant!" The barbarian scratched his head anxiously. Then, as if remembering something, he stammered, "Have you ever seen a dragon?"
"I've fought adult white dragons. Those terrifying creatures, whenever they appear on the battlefield, everyone's attention is drawn to them. We marvel at their beauty and power, and we also fear the fact that we will soon be their enemy!"
The dwarf rolled his eyes. "Have you ever been a dragon? You're talking nonsense and making things up!"
Although the white dragon is a disgrace to dragons, the jokes about it are limited to drinking parties.
Let alone the white dragon, if they actually encountered a two-legged wyvern, their whole group would wet themselves.
"You, me, sigh—"
The northern barbarian sighed and did not continue to explain.
But he did feel that Suen gave him the same feeling as the white dragon he had met when he was young.
Powerful, terrifying, and exquisitely beautiful.

Simon's mansion was located near his circus.
Even from a distance, you can see a bunch of colorful tents surrounding a medieval pastoral-style house.
Generally speaking,
Circuses typically consist of horse-drawn carriages and tents.
Like caravans, they would travel to villages or cities, set up camp to perform, make a quick buck, and then continue their journey. This nomadic lifestyle is actually very appealing to young people who love adventure.
But Simon's circus was different; it was more like a theater.
There's an open-air theater, a fireworks terrace, aerial acrobatics... and they even went to great lengths to create a portal-style beast cage.
At the height of the circus's popularity, throngs of spectators stand on the fireworks terrace, watching the agile performers tame all sorts of exotic creatures emerging from the portal cages.
In short, Simon's circus was quite successful, even gaining some fame in the Upper East Side.
However, all of this came to an end with the disappearance of Simon Silver Shield.
The circus was forced to close.
In addition, debt collectors from the clearing house come every few days.
Over time, most of the circus performers left, and those who remained and persisted to this day were nothing more than poor cattle and horses who couldn't bear to part with their wages.
Suen and his two companions stood at Simon's mansion. The seal on the door had been torn off by someone, revealing the empty interior of the mansion. The cold wind made the old door bolt creak, like the groans of a dying man from his decaying throat.
Honestly, empty houses like this are perfect for ghost stories.
"Dwarf, do you remember how you got to the secret chamber?" Suen held up a torch, illuminating the walls inch by inch.
The entire house was empty and dilapidated, with even the bricks on the walls pried off. If Su En hadn't known that people had lived in the house, she would have thought it was an unfinished, bare shell.
"I remember, this is the way!"
The dwarf muttered to himself as he climbed the stairs, and after turning a corner, his expression became excited.
"This is it!"
Su En kicked the door open.
Moonlight shone on the empty bookshelves, and the air was filled with the musty smell of dust.
This should be a study, but all the furniture has been moved out.
Suen raised his torch, illuminating a patch of dried grease on the ground. He stretched out his finger and gently scraped the solidified oil, releasing a familiar aroma.
This should be the location where Simon's daughter's body was found. But there was no safe or secret room in sight.
"Did you find anything?" the dwarf couldn't help but ask.
Suen shook her head.
The dwarf was unwilling to give up. He knocked on every wall and leaned down to listen, but he did not hear the familiar hollow sound.
"Could it be that I really saw it wrong!"
Suen raised his torch and shone it on the ground. A thought struck him. "Call Conan over here. I'm afraid there really is something fishy going on here!"
A look of delight flashed across the dwarf's face. "Could it be that we've made some new discovery?"
Suen placed the torch on the ground and carefully examined the ground by its light.
Scattered across the patch of grease were some tiny footprints, which, judging from the patterns on the soles, must have been left by several pairs of boots. The footprints were fresh, covered in damp soil and a few patches of vibrant green grass.
Not long ago, other people stepped on the oil stains, but strangely, the study floor was clean and there were no footprints.
An image involuntarily flashed into Suen's mind.
A group of strangers arrived in the room before them and stood on the grease; however, they remained there and never left.
Thinking of this, Su En shuddered.
"The footprints were left about an hour ago, no more than three hours ago."
The barbarian held out his palm, gesturing to indicate the size of the famous shoe print. "There were two people, two women. They were very light, but their feet were very large, which suggests that both of them were very tall. The heavier one was at least 1.8 meters tall, and the other was about 1.7 meters tall."
A pair of slender, but tall sisters.
Suen seemed thoughtful. "The most crucial question is, did they leave from here?"
"I couldn't find any footprints indicating that we left."
The barbarian took a deep breath, rubbed his nose, and said with certainty, "And there's no smell of rotting grease in the stairwell or outside."
In other words, there were indeed two people who arrived here before them and disappeared into the study.
